Child of Flame
Dammit, I'm disappointed, seeing the thread starter and the subject line, I was totally inspecting a rant. Spore looks good and I'm even more excited about the tech behind it than the actual game. ^_^
Weiser_Cain
I can't be bitter about everything. The tech is very interesting, I remember getting excited when I first saw a 96k shooter. It's really too bad I know nothing about programming as I'd really like to work on something like this. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (

Weiser_Cain
One of the things I was wondering about was if you could use this and standard modeling and texturing together so that you could have huge deformable enviroments with well defined characters clomping through them. this may be possible from within spores engine but again I know so little about it Yaw devs, Yaw!!! ShadowPaladin V1.0
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=59418 Can't claim to be too interested right now, but you never know. Archmonarch
Without looking up the game at all, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume it lets you create hybrid animals or something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It basically allows to control the evolution (beginning as physical then progressing to social and technological) of a creature you create from a unicellular organism to ruler of a galactic empire (if you so choose). The game is somehow connected to a server of player-created organisms and will choose to introduce animals that fill out the ecosystem. So, for example, if you have no herbivores or no marine creatures ad infinitem, the game will automatically introduce them without any necessary input from the player. I must say I am rather anticipating this game. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
Arkan
Could be interesting...but, is it just another sims game, then (realistically)? "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta
