I'm sure that advances in personal shields and body armor is what caused the eventual death of the physical projectile weapon in the Star Wars universe.

Jedi can also generate force shields and force push. Force push is good for deflecting grenade and bullets so I think Jedi are safe lightsaber isn't their only weapon...

It's actually a pretty good topic. Not sure if the Jedi would have the focus of shielding/beating off lots of solid projectiles heading their way. So far I haven't seen any evidence to say that Jedi can create forcefields that can stop solid matter.

In Clone Wars when Obi fights Durge for the first time, durge fires a whole load of dart like projectiles, obi just uses the force to deflect/divert them.

 

Any Jedi worth his salt should be able to divert a few bullets while escaping, i would imagine a Jedi Master would be able to dismantle the guns while they still in the enemy's hands.

Kind of like Neo in The Matrix...only he just stopped the bullet's, he didn't deflect them. :ph34r: Although, if you also used a Mandalorian melee shield, wouldn't that be able to stop bullets also, since it stops physical attacks?

A jedi could just raise some earth to to stop the rush of bullets. No biggie.

I'm sure a bullet will go a lot faster than a Jedi's hand when he raises it to do force push.
