Java Pazaak game?

Since the KOTOR liscense, and items along with it such as Pazaak, are owned by Lucasarts who would be the person to contact to ask for permission to do a freeware Pazaak game?

A java web applet, with the option of being against an AI or hotseat.

Hrmm... I hoped that someone with authority here would reply with some contact info on who to ask to get permission to make this freeware game. I've heard horror stories about Lucasarts shutting down such projects, so being on the safe side and getting permission was the first thing that came to mind.

Anyway, the idea is that with the game everyone gets a starter deck, and you win new cards when you win a game. You'd get different 'tiers' of cards when you earn more points. Bets would be based on the points you have.

Since KotOR 1 available:

Homepage: http://kotor-theme.50megs.com/index.html

Pazaak Online 1.3.3:

Download: http://files.filefront.com/Pazaak_Online_v...;/fileinfo.html

and the other variant Pazaak Arcade:

Pazaak Arcade v1.0.0 (base): http://files.filefront.com/3802610

Pazaak Arcade v1.0.1 update: http://files.filefront.com/3815226 (only new exe, so you need both)

Of course it's designed after Pazaak from KotOR 1! Maybe a new set will be made with the new Cards from Part 2.

Don't take what I am going to say as endoresement, allowance, approval or anything else that says you should do anything without contacting LucasArts or discussing with a lawyer.

Having said that, in general most publishers allow people to make things like a Pazaak game as long as they don't make money off of it through sellling the item itself or having it drive advertisement revenue that they receive any amount of on the site that hosts it.

Again, this not approval to do what you are doing in any way shape or form. Just a comment on what I have seen in the past.

I love how diplomatic you have to be when you are in a position where your words can be used against you .. hehe

and like Mr. Urquhart said.. you do see these things all over the net, even people using various game engines to make small games ..

Fortune favors the bald.

Mr. Urquhart has developed his diplomatic skills

due to all of the B.S. he's had to deal with in the past. >_<

If you're looking for the actual contact, Lucasfilm has a licensing division.

I don't have the number

Thanks for the reply :p

I was sort of hoping that there was an official channel that people generally contacted to clear things, especially after hearing about how... picky Lucasarts is with fan projects related to their liscenses.
