Child of Flame Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 I'm in need of a new graphic card as of now, does anyone know of any good ones and that are good price too, thanks for any help <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you don't need it right away (i.e. you already have one, but you just need an upgrade), I'd wait until the X850 comes out....that'll mean pricedrops. If you need a new one because your old one fried, I'd go with a Radeon 9800.
nixion Posted December 19, 2004 Author Posted December 19, 2004 I just need an upgrade really and thanks for the advice
EnderAndrew Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 What is your budget? You can get a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro with 128 megs of memory for $105 at New Egg.
Finger of Death Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 R 9550,R 9550 is R 9600 low frequence,GPU is R 9600,250MHz 400MHz. 128bit 128MB only 499 RMB,cheap very cheap. You can update BIOS to R 9600. If I tell you I'm good You would probably think I'm boasting If I tell you I'm no good You know I'm lying ---Bruce Lee
EnderAndrew Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Does the Radeno 9550 have full Direct X 9 optimization like the 9600 and above series cards have?
mkreku Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Apparently the Geforce 6600 GT is as strong as a Radeon 9800 Pro, but availible at a lower price (I read in a swedish hardware magazine today). If it's true, then I'd suggest you buy that one! Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Deraldin Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Apparantly the Geforce 6600 GT is as strong as a Radeon 9800 Pro, but availible at a lower price (I read in a swedish hardware magazine today). If it's true, then I'd suggest you buy that one! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From what I've seen, the 6600GT out performs the 9800Pro by a slim margin. I've seen the Sapphire 9800 Pro at around $50 cheaper than the 6600GT.
nik_bg Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 If you need mid level card, GF 5700 has perfect price/performance ratio.
Deraldin Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 If you need mid level card, GF 5700 has perfect price/performance ratio. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Depends on what you mean by mid-level. You're a generation behind.
Judge Hades Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 It still plays all the top end games very well.
Ludozee Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Does anyone know a reasonably cheap, but decent GeForce card? Because my R 9600XT has some serous issues with my Asus A7N8 series motherboard, so I want to try a GF card.
Kaftan Barlast Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 Read around some hardware site forums where people really know what theyre talking about. GCs are one of those things where the fine things really make a differance(for instance some cheaper models being reflashable or overclockable to function just aswell as the topoftheline model) DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner.
