Astatine
*delurk* Eww, compression artifacts. That tomb looks fantastic. Dribble. I wonder if it'll be possible to buy rocket launchers, or if that NPC's wrist mounted one will remain a unique...
Jad'en
OMG its like i have died and gone to heaven..............Hey whos the guy with the white robes and long beard!?! New stances sound fanastic...just so im not fooling myself that does mean how u hold the lightsaber and such, right? RIGHT!?! Instead of making a new topic u might as well put what stances u would most like to see in SW:KOTOR2 such as the absoloutly badass stance that DARTH Revan adopted on his flag ship and Malaks rather feeble 1 handed stance in the final scene *snigger*

Given how dangerous grenades where unless you moved out of the way I wouldn't like to be on the recieving end of one of these things. Does the launcher ocupy an arm inventory slot? Everyone knows Science Fiction is really cool. You know what PoE really needs? Spaceships! There isn't any game that wouldn't be improved by a space combat minigame. Adding one to PoE would send sales skyrocketing, and ensure the game was remembered for all time!!!!!

Reflecting rockets with your lightsaber seems like a painfull thing to do Hmm... I think JKII and Academy have it somewhat right, about reflecting rockets. No way that'll be done with the saber, it'd explode against the blade. It'd have to be diverted through push or wave, or something. Not diverted /back/ like the JK games do, but diverted to explode somewhere other than you. If it did come close to the JK games however, it would be a nice psycho way to get darkside points if you deflected it into a crowd, killing them all
Astatine
Rocket reflecting was irritating in JA: your enemies could do it, but you couldn't. Long range kills with a rocket or the Stoulker when the Dark Jedi hadn't seen you or drawn his lightsaber were very satisfying, though. Making rockets (and grenades?) swerve and miss using the Force would be very cool. Is it something the engine would support? Instinctively I'd guess a general "telekinesis" implementation covering all the levitation things that get done in the films, etc, wouldn't be practical (think of the UI!). It could be tacked-in functionality of the Force Push series powers but they're powerful enough already. Perhaps a "Projectile Deflection" power and, where appropriate (e.g. crowds nearby), pause for a dialog screen asking whether you deflect the projectile away from or into the crowds... nee hee hee
alanschu
You couldn't reflect the rockets in Jedi Academy...you had to use Force Push on them, and they would get pushed back towards enemies. So you could do it too.

Fardragon
I don't think the KotOR engine can support diverting rockets with the force (turn based) - it should work on grenades too anyway. It would be good if you could pull weapons out of enemies' hands in KotOR, that should be possible as disarm was in NWN. Everyone knows Science Fiction is really cool. You know what PoE really needs? Spaceships! There isn't any game that wouldn't be improved by a space combat minigame. Adding one to PoE would send sales skyrocketing, and ensure the game was remembered for all time!!!!! Fardragon
A projectile deflection force power might work. I don't know if toggle powers for things like Force Sight and Battle Meditation are being introduced. If not it could have a fixed duration like Force Valor and the rest. It could have 3 levels like many of the other powers: Level 1: Protects character only, projectile deflected in a random direction. Level 2: Protects all friendlies withing 10 feet of the character Level 3: Protects all friendlies within 15 feet. Projectiles are directed back where they came from. I doubt it would be desireable to interupt combat to ask if you want to avoid a crowd of civilians, but a general collateral damage system would be good that gave you dark side points whenever you acidently hurt a civilian. Such a system was in Baldur's Gate and Jedi Knight. Everyone knows Science Fiction is really cool. You know what PoE really needs? Spaceships!
