TKEON230 Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 IGN PC has updated with info on a new planet in KOTOR II called Dxun. It looks like a forest-esque planet. They also mention the rumor that KOTOR II might be coming out during the holiday season this year instead of February. Check out the article here: http://pc.ign.com/articles/522/522882p1.html
TKEON230 Posted June 12, 2004 Author Posted June 12, 2004 Sorry to reply to my own post, but there are also a ton of new PC screenshots in this update found here: http://media.pc.ign.com/media/608/608569/imgs_1.html
Ivan the Terrible Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 About freaking time. This forum has been running on fumes for weeks. I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you But I get the feeling that you don't like it What's with all the screaming? You like monkeys, you like ponies Maybe you don't like monsters so much Maybe I used too many monkeys Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
TKEON230 Posted June 12, 2004 Author Posted June 12, 2004 I think a game like KOTOR II is the type of game where screenshots can't do it justice. The beauty will be in it's animations and effects, not its still screens. Plus, when will you see a still screen when you are playing anyway?
Ivan the Terrible Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 They also mention the rumor that KOTOR II might be coming out during the holiday season this year instead of February. I hate to be cynical....but that news is less encouraging and more worrisome. Let's hope that random parts of the Ebon Hawk don't show up on planets without the ship upon release. TKEON230 Posted June 12, 2004 Author Posted June 12, 2004 I'm sure LucasArts and Obsidian will make sure that the game is released when it is ready and not prematurely. Nobody was expecting KOTOR II till February anyway, so it's not like they have to rush to get it out before then.
severxsever Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 In some ways, early release dates get me excited. They could indicate that a dev team has a clear, succinct vision. The release of bad games has been prolonged by developers scrambling to half-fix unsatisfactory game elements that are glaringly obvious after the game has been all but finished.

Good point. *cough* Daikatana *cough* On the other hand, when I hear of a surprise bump for the game to be released just prior to the Holiday season, my first thought is of executive greed rather than designer vision. OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 This area is thought to be extremely dangerous. Oh, this is candy, I'm having fun!
Topaz Quasar Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Dxun had the tomb of Freedon Nadd, which Exar Kun defiled....and subsequently became possessed (sort of) by the spirit of the dead Sith Lord, who had plans for the young Darkside bound Jedi. Didn't seem to work out for Freedon though.....
Dereth Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 What's with his lightsaber? Looks like she's about to use the arm mounted rockets This mine shaft looks sweet
prsrulez Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 IGN says the rumor is likely to be true... I dunno... I don't care really, the game will ship when it is done.
kumquatq3 Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Rumor is confirmed: Availability: Winter Genre: RPG Platform: XBox, PC ESRB: Rating Pending http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swkotor_sithlords/
Ivan the Terrible Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 So what months is it comin out?? December. Just enough time to make it under the tree, most likely. A patch had better be available VERY shortly after. I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you But I get the feeling that you don't like it What's with all the screaming? Shdy314 Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Winter can mean January. Heck even Febuary. Winter is nice and vague and easily delayed. Let's not bother guessing release dates. Its tiresome.

I think it is worth noting that the date was switched from Feb to "Winter". Why get less specific (but not extend to a later date) if you arn't thinking of moving the fate up? To me, it looks a whole lot like the pre-K2 being announced days, were all the evidence points one way.
Craftsman Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 I hope they are not going to rush KOTOR 2 so that KOTOR 3 for Xbox 2 can get underway.
