Frak_the_2nd Posted Thursday at 07:49 PM Posted Thursday at 07:49 PM So numbercrunchers and theorycrafters. Let's get this forum rolling. The amour reduction. Is it absolute numbers first, then percentage reduction? Or vice versa? I'm to lazy to test myself 1
thelee Posted Friday at 04:35 PM Posted Friday at 04:35 PM once i finish out my first run this is high on my list of things to test out. i've been operating under the assumption that it's like New Vegas, with DR first followed by absolute reduction, which is what Sawyer actively worked on and was a deliberate reversal from Fallout 1/2 (absolute reduction followed by DR). 2

I agree, after having read the description on the armour again. DR first, then absolute numbers. Received damage = (Incoming damage * (1 - percentage/100%)) - absolute numberÂ

Though some wiriting on that wiki are incorrect (linear attributes scaling while in game attributes have diminished returns).  Quote  As an example, wearing a Medium Armor grants the wearer 5% Damage Reduction and 8 Additional Damage Reduction. This means that being hit for 20 points of damage will only result in 11 points going through to their health, as the armor will absorb 5% + 8 of the damage. The basic formula is (where DR is all DR the character has additively summed together): Final Damage = Damage - (Damage × (DR / 100) + ADR)  Damage Reduction is "premium" feature which increases only on higher quality tiers while damage threshold increases with every upgrade. Someone wrote on reddit that DR is capped at 95%. 1
