EnderAndrew
I am currently suffering through/enjoying a bag of flavored sunflower seeds. You see, the flavoring is on the outside of the shells. So I have to suck it off, then crack open the shell and eat the insides. Either I crack it inside my mouth, and spit out the remains of sunflower shells (fairly indignant) or spit out the seed, crack it, and then reinsert into my mouth. Or I could try to eat the shell. None of these options seem appealing. Why create such a product?

Arkan
I wish they would just shell the damn things then flavor them... They do. "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta

LostStraw
They're more expensive for the pre-shelled kind though. That extra money I save by buying the non shelled variety is money that could go towards KOTOR2 (yes, I'm a miser).

That extra money I save by buying the non shelled variety is money that could go towards KOTOR2 (yes, I'm a miser). I'm guessing that's because the shelled kind's weight (that's how it's measured, right?) is pure seeds, whereas the unshelled kind's weight includees the shell. You'd be getting more seeds from the shelled (ie eat more), plus of course they're processed more (shelled). However a lot of ppl I know get sunflower seeds just to do something - ie keep themselves busy. If I had the shelled seeds then I'd be shovelling them into my mouth and they'd be finished ini no time. Spreading beauty with my katana.
Arkan
I was just at the store and both shelled and unshelled were the same price. "Of course the people don't want war. Gorth
Not even two swallows are strong enough to carry a coconut.
