mkreku Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 What would multiplayer consist of? I thought the word "co-op" was kind of self explanatory, but here goes: it is actually short for co-operation! That means multiplayer could consist of players logging into the same game to play the main story together, helping each other. You know, human controlled Carth's, HK-47's and Bastila's? I still think it could be neat. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
EnderAndrew Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Baldur's Gate and such games were built with this in mind. The engine would need a major overhaul. And what happens with all the plot? Bastilla tells you this, and the MC gets dialogue options. What about the player playing Bastilla? What if the Carth player hits a trigger event, and the game is trying to talk to Revan. Except Carth is hearing about being a Jedi. Co-op works for certain games. It won't work for KOTOR.
OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Nope, but it would be cool though, IMHO...
daemonicus Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 You couldn't run the story with multiple people. You would either have to make a multiplayer story or just allow people to explore the Star Wars universe. Wait, you can already do that thanks to Galaxies.
EnderAndrew Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Yep. I'm considering downloading and trying Galaxies now that they're doing a free trial. I played the beta and thought the game was alright. It didn't meet my expectations, but it wasn't horrible either.
Oerwinde Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 its boring without a mp!!! Sorry, you're in the minority with that opinion. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Malon Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 Multiplayer=baaaaaad. I don't want to end up going on there and seeing, "OMGOMGOMGI HAV KILLEDED U!1!!1one!1" and a bunch of Darth Vaders, Bastilas and BenjisRiotGuurl101s. If you want a multiplayer Star Wars, try Galaxies or one of those other ones. It's also the fact that I want the Devs to work more on the actual game and the plot than waste a lot of time doing a multiplayer.
darthillinovex Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 All multiplayer games wind up loosing major points in the area of story. It's one or the other...and I'd perfer story. However, if they could include a second player in a story mode....then, O.K.
Raven Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 co-op would be good, 2 friends playing through the game. but multiplayer online....... definately ruin kotor2...
alanschu Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Multiplayer isn't that big of a deal for me. If they could add a way to play co-op or something, that would be cool...always fun playing with a friend.
