Hey guys,

So... I'm kind of torn between sabre choices for my melee Mindstalker. Because on the one hand, Scordeo's Edge is a REALLY good weapon, but on the other, it's available fairly late in the game (I think, I'm not sure how much game there is left when you get it), and it's tied behind a specific faction which wasn't one I was planning to support (I was making a pro-Vailian Watcher, Scordeo's Edge requires supporting the Principi, and not even the ones who just want to make a new Vailian homeland for themselves). If I didn't go with Scordeo's, I'd pick Grave Calling instead, and I plan to dual-wield both with Rust's Poignard in the off-hand for bleed damage and the chance for a prone effect. Plus because it looks cool.

I haven't done the Aeldys Principi route - I've done Huana and RDC so far. So I was wondering, how's the intrigue there, since I know that's something of a plot point of the VTC questline, with Castol and... Alvari? I think?

Try killing some vessels with Grave Calling enchanted with Chill Fog on vessel kill... No skellies around? Use a Chanter to summon some for you to kill. It's a really potent combo. As the damage comes from a weapon ability, it even fills your Focus (when enemies are hit by the Chill Fog, not by killing allied skellies).

You don't necessarily have to go on the Principi route to get Scordeo's Edge, or at least not all the way. It's entirely possible to win the Principi for Aeldys and have her give it to you as a reward, then bail on it before embarking on the Floating Hangman quest that really locks you into the Principi route.

Actually it doesn't even seem the Floating Hangman quest locks you on the Principi questline, at least not till you finish it AND come back to report to either Aeldys or Furrante. I'm rocking on the Fonferrus, swinging Engoliero de Espirs and doing quests for other factions (this is with Aeldys dead and quest given by Furrante).

Indeed. It is entirely possible to be rocking both the Fonferrus and the Blade of Takowa within your fleet in an RDC playthrough.

EDIT: Now there's an idea to possibly break the game. I wonder what would happen if I took the Fonferrus, threw in with the RDC to get the Blade of Takowa, then switched back to the Fonferrus and made for the Ofecchia Channel...?

Kind of a side note, but in one betrayal playthrough of the game after I took over the Principi for Aeldys in Dunnage, I proceeded to betray Aeldys immediately and gibbed her which made her bug out and go back into her cutscene dialogue of "us" ruling the Principi where I then received a 2nd scordeo's edge  :o and promptly murdered them all over again.  That was one hell of a bug out since I murdered Pim too in the hall and he was the "final" faction fight that appeared in Ukaizo, but he never aggroed or talked as I walked past him lol. That's right Pim bro, you don't want to deal with these double scordeo edges.

One day I'll probably investigate further if I can replicate what happened to see if it was just a one-time bug or a condition of triggers that made it go the way it did since you have your fingers up in everyone's business at that point that something must have conflicted.
