StormbringerGT replied to Caepio's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Yeah this should be fine next build. Thanks for helping out! -

Unfortunately that won't help. Good news is I was able to reproduce your issue. I let my battery die during a roll. So hopefully this is fixed by the next version. -

I can confirm. Don't let your battery die. Working on a fix for it. -
How does difficulty unlocking work?
StormbringerGT replied to Borissimo's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
I'll let Nathan or a designer pop in here to answer these largely, but there are systems in place that prevent the duplication of certain powerful cards (such as Medusa's' Mask) in the same party. Also my explanation of saves being saves is a bit off. We'll have to clear that up a bit. -
Allies in Poisoned Pill
StormbringerGT replied to MightyJim's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
What should be happening is that when you come across an ally you should see a small UI element in the middle of the screen that shows +2. It might be more or less depending on other modifiers however Let me double check that to make sure it is actually firing off. Thanks! -
How does difficulty unlocking work?
StormbringerGT replied to Borissimo's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Hmm I wonder if I explained this wrong... I usually do.... By creating saves you are creating more work for yourself. On a single save file, for now at least, you can play the whole game with a party of 6 characters and unlock Legendary. Then remove those 6 characters from your party back into the pool where they will be waiting if you want them again, and select new characters. If however for some reason you are keen on erasing your party and hundreds of hours of work you can delete those characters. Although I'd suggest not to. You can have multiple of the same characters, just not in the same party. I can have an Ezren who only beat Brigandoom! and an Ezren who has legendary'ed everything on a single save file. And the Ezren who only beat Brigandoom! can go ahead and try some of the legendary difficulties (and get slaughtered in the process). It's what the somewhat confusing filter is for and why you can't rename characters; to help you keep track of having multiple of the same characters on a single save file. So to answer your scenario: You beat the game on Normal and Heroic with Lem and Valeros to unlock Legendary for each scenario. Then you want to try to play the game from fresh but to start on the legendary difficulties. Bench or delete high level Lem and Valeros and create a party with a new fresh Lem and Valeros. All within a single save file. May Seelah grant you strength! -
How does difficulty unlocking work?
StormbringerGT replied to Borissimo's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Well the way it works now is different saves are pretty much treated as separate games. Think of each one as its own separate box of cards. The actions in one save do not affect the actions in another. (Except how Treasure Chest Cards work) So if you are plowing through the story and want to change all the characters, you can; Go to the character select screen in between scenarios (It looks like a character sheet button right now) and drag out the old characters you don't want to use and drag in the ones you do. Right now those characters have access to everything the old characters beat, including higher difficulty modes. So for exmaple, you beat all the Normal Difficulties through adventure deck 1 with Kyra and Merisiel. Now you want to try some new things, you can bench Meri and Kyra. Then create a party of Lem and Valeros. They will have access to all the difficulties Kyra and Merisiel unlocked and can play up to the scenario's those two unlocked. They will be lacking powerful cards and feats however. -
Question about Treasure Chests
StormbringerGT replied to Alklein35's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Because the "newbie" system doesn't let me get to my posts to edit while waiting for approval I just want to address this personal note. What on god's green earth are you talking about? Begrudge people's happiness? What?! You literally made an assumption "Assuming the chests make other players happy" and then went on to build a false narrative. "do you really begrudge the happiness of other people". Better question would be "WOULD YOU begrudge..." Don't assume positions or emotions about people that aren't there. One, it's rude. Two undermines your whole position. It's the worst straw man you could ever make. So to make it abundantly clear for you. I begrudge no one for liking this game. Nor would I begrudge them for liking loot boxes much like I don't begrudge 80 year old grandma's for enjoying slot machines. Waste of money in my eye but hey ain't my money. But on the flip side who is anyone else to object on what I do or don't spend my money on? Most of all people I don't know, care about, hear from, or will ever meet. As long as purchases aren't reinforcing anti-consumer practices, hereby helping them gain prominence there isn't a reason to care about what others do. And the very fact I'm posting in response to something I find objectionable, would by definition, not be silent protest. The fact I have expressed these same feelings to the friends I formerly promoted this game to would not be silent protest. I'm letting the Dev's hear my voice and they then will do what they will with it even if its complete disregard. I'm entitled to nothing. But guess what? So are they. They don't deserve my money if I don't like the product they put forth. So you know what would be a poor return in MY happiness(and my money)? Buying something I do not want. Chests are purely optional though. You don't ever have to know they are in your game and utilize them. All the cards that you can find in your physical RotR box set you can find in our digital version in a similar format (Base Box and Adventure Decks.) I'm not trying to change your opinions on blind packs or anything, I'm just making sure we are communicating chests clearly. -
Feedback: Multiple Card Recharge Timing
StormbringerGT replied to Deekow's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Giving players a choice on how to resolve cards effects is not something I think we can do. For a number of reasons, but the pacing of the game will probably suffer for it if we did. I also have to check with Paizo and see what I can find but I am pretty sure they actually have a ruling on the order of recharges. Essentially though there are two ways this can go; In order of cards played, since you played the Longsword first you recharge it first, or latest card gets resolved first. Which is a stack as CCG players know it as, where the latest card played or the card on top of the stack gets resolved first. Our game follows the stack method currently. It's worth us looking into this further and making sure this is the correct method for Pathfinder Adventures. -
Pricing is a delicate balance indeed. We want to get paid but we also want people to think the price is worth the content. This game is bit more different than how other games are handled on the mobile market. So it is harder to compare it to current pricing models.

New playthroughs
StormbringerGT replied to PinkRose's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
After you complete a scenario, on the adventure screen there are the two buttons on the bottom right - one that lets you modify decks, the other that lets you look at your characters. You should be able to drag unlocked characters to your party on this screen. That being said, I'm not sure how safe it is at the moment with the progress reset issue, (currently looking into it) but you're free to try it out if you're brave. Right! A new save is a new save and the only thing that shares between saves is content you bought (characters, decks etc), and cards you got from chests. We also allow you to swap out party members in between scenarios on a single save. -
Pass On Acquiring Boons?
StormbringerGT replied to fastkarate's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
Yes that would be leagues more punishing.... and maybe worth future consideration. I think even when we implement the ability to not acquire a boon, this Wildcard as is, is still valid because it still punishes you for acquiring a boon. Might be worth considering to make it more punishing per boon however. -

Face-up cards when location is closed, please

I'll pass this along. Personally I like not knowing. Keeps the mystery alive and I don't have to groan when I see a particularly good boon get banished. -
Question about Treasure Chests
StormbringerGT replied to Alklein35's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Closed Beta
You made my day because I am told I rarely make sense! You can play the game almost exactly how you play it in the physical version. If you buy the season pass or just buy everything individually, it'll function how you expect it to. Once you get to Adventure Deck 1 the cards from Adventure Deck 1 get added into you vault. Once you get to Adventure Deck 2 the cards from Adventure Deck 2 get added to your vault (box in the physical version). The cards from the chests add in some variety and let you play with new cards not found in the RotR. I have a feeling they will come in especially handy on Harder Difficulties and during Quest mode. They are however completely optional. You can play through the RotR normal campaign and not need to buy any chests. We'll have more info for you guys on chests in the near future! I hope this helped clear some things up though. -
Your name hath been stricken henceforth from the records!

Closed Beta Issues Thread

Yup conversation is still getting some finishing touches. Or... Nathan might be toying with silent protagonist conversations.
