They are but only if they are made interesting. My point was that newer games don't make them interesting and even worse make them like in MMOs about hunting down X of Y. In BG1, a fetch quest didn't really feel like one often, more like part of the world. BG2 barely had fetch quests, I cannot remember many of them. Fair. I enjoyed the Dragon Egg fetch quest. I'd be good with it if they all had a bit more story to them like that. i wish more games had more of the dnd type cutseanc that poe has

And you are....! *shrug* what I'm trying to say is that your post isn't rebutting anything, but rather simply tries to take a stance and gain authority/power in the debate/discussion by nonchalantly neglecting whatever he was saying. You don't address anything he is saying in his post. A.k.a. s.h.i.t-posting. I think the point Quetzalcoatl is saying is that MANY if not ALL quests in Baldur's Gate are fetch quests. The dialogue, narrative can be everything from mediocre to good, to fun, such as the saving Dynaheir quest with Minsc (for instance). Baldur's Gate is one of my favorite games/cRPG's, but that doesn't mean that I think everything in it was "perfect" or "awesome". Critically looking at it, many quests aren't very exciting in their own, but depending on whatever character you have chosen to immerse yourself with in the game, a mediocre "Get this bottle from the neighbour" can become the best Quest in the world. Granted, that you're roleplaying and/or enjoying the game a lot as a whole. But I understand your point as well, you have to seek out the quests, you have to talk to people, you have to look into your journal from time to time to figure stuff out, use your eyes and brains. In newer games there's either an arrow pointing you to where you need to go, or the minimap shows you an "!" where there are quests, or you can see, in-game, on-screen, characters with a yellow and big "!" that could've just as well have been an Azura's Wrath Buddha finger, pointing at the character that has the quest: Haha! That'd be hilarious though, imagine if playing DA:I or WoW, and in the horizon, in the skyline and out of space, you see hands and fingers pointing down where all the quests are haha "HERE! GO HERE!" xD Macro Furry?

the combat makes the path of the dammed kinda usless and THEIRS NO POINT! i understand its a rpg but shesh i wish i could get somthing speail at the end for all the work i put into it.

... Out of curiosity, have you played it? I've found plenty of armor sets, and you can customize the everliving crap out of whatever you want, both cosmetically AND stat-wise. And I don't see much resemblance to World of Warcraft, shy of there being a world, with humanoid people in it, and terrain and stuff. Yes and for most of the game i was stuck with 1 set al least for about 60 % of the game

Methinks people overly associate open-world games with MMO's. What's the difference between doing a quest in BG1, and doing a quest in DA:I? It's not isometric, and there are fewer map transitions. Seriously. I'm not going to tell anyone to like DA:I, but at least dislike it accurately, please. Anywho, while I think DA:I is great, in its way, I feel that PoE is also going to be quite great in different ways. um...no i hate it it looks like world of war craft :/ and also the face models are terrble and acouly REALLY funny looking and theirs hardly any amor sets and no reasen the castel in the game should exist its usless.

My thoughts on the progress of the Beta since August.
ctn2003 replied to Arsene Lupin's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yea i can tell Metacritic IGN and other reviewrs are going to tear this game apart when it comes out, ill bet most well give it around a 6 out of 10 :/ i mean a lot may say thats a good score to give it but i dont know -
One of the best rpg's of the year

And Dragon Age's characters are more well known than Obsidian's. This doesn't mean they're better. It usually means the opposite, since anything that appeals to the lowest common denominator is more popular as a rule. The new Bioware characters are boring (DAO and afterwards). None of them are silly and fun. Morrigan was memorable for other stuff, the rest are just plain and boring. I don't want Obsidian to follow Bioware modern steps. Xzar has more personally in his few barks that all the new Bioware characters together (well I didn't play DAI so maybe they got some better ones; OK, Mass Effect had some more interesting characters but also not much). All the new DA suck to me Dr3 is imp the worst out of them all it reminds me way to mutch of World of warcraft or somthing like that or some type of online MMORPG

Unless that game is really great in same way i just d I to wonder if sometimes it hurts to see "this sucks take it out" i dout that feels good all the time.
-
Same with Wastland 2 Great game maily becase of the community.
-
Ill have to try that some time. lol soooo many things i have yet to do in that game after 8 years of playing it hear and their.

Strongly disagree. I have an extensive list of complaints with DA:O, but the characters and the humour of those characters has never been one of them. For me, Alistair remains the funniest companion I have ever had the joy of experiencing in a crpg with Morrigan running a close second. I literally laughed out loud on more occasions than I could count during DA:O, although by the end when the mechanics had become undeniable it was the last game in the series I would play. I'm not averse to a spot of Bioware-bashing myself, but I think for crpgs to get where they need to be, you have to acknowledge what was done well and what was done badly. The DA:O characters I played with felt appropriate to the setting, funny without breaking the third wall, and had at least a small attempt at arcing. This should be praised. The experience was only somewhat spoiled by having a PC who could nob half of them by giving them the sweepings left from doing his job. Exacly the first DR was great altho not for everybody (some though it was boring and had no good armor sets) But it was the best rpg at its time in 2009

Yea i know for fact when this game comes out peaple are going to tear it apart Ign metacritic (only like 5% trustworthly sites for all games anyways) but ill love it regarless of the combat or graphics.
-
No this game has a lot bad with it but 90% of it is good and the other 5% is being fixed i know my family well injoy the game.
-
Wastland 2 has some great ones.
-
cant spell anything hardly : just a heads up (not that anybody well read it anyways) lol Well i though id say a few words as if poe 3 main cons are resolved ( games whouls still be better than dragen age 3) Combat loot system and the tiny things like droping itmes on ground. I love the finding secrets in the areas sutch as the rings guns and staff in the inn. thats part fantastice. and i think the characters are already amazing i love the guys in the inn their great and all have tons of stuff to say taking to everybody in the inn alone could take a hour reading all the cool lore and history of inn and the broken stones war- i think was a real war. and amore sets are all some of the best in a video game and theirs tons of them i think theirs more armore in poe than in icewind dale and Bg1 combind lets see what else? one big big thing about this game that acouly is FAR better than bg1 and 2 is the fact that it is trully mundane. Bg1 was at its core very silly and even kinda goofy (edwin) and a lot of the characters) but this game is not its just great all around at this momment id give it a 4 out of 5 and when its relesed itl get 5 out 5 from me i can already tell :D ill bet ign well give it a 6.5 or someing lie like that.
