Alpha Protocol on GTTV next Friday
Dakar replied to funcroc's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
The second screen is touched up, did you think that's how it would acdtually look? Also the first screen is form the PS3, the PC version will probably look better than either console version. -
Yeah Thievery is stupid. But I agree with his statement about saving the world. I am so incredibly tired of games where you save the world and/or where the reason for all the events of the game are mystical or demonic in nature. You can play an awesome game filled with political strife and civil war and then it devolves into a ****ty story about how the body snatching Simulcrae possessed the king of Jimjab and started the whole war! I remember playing one game way back when. You have this awesome game with stealth and ninja gadgets where you actually have to play stealthy. The first few levels are cool things like taking care of greedy merchants, and silencing a rogue employee. And then you get to the final levels and it turns into an undead hack and slash where you have to kill the Demon King. For once I'd like a game where you were dealing with a semi-realistic situation propelled solely by the denizens of the world, not an otherwordly magical force.

This reads like a review of everything you post about Bioware.
-
I thought by now more people would have heard the saying "No idea is original" and have stopped obsessing about what Bioware stole this from or that from. Who cares.

I wonder if it's tough working in PR for a game company and constantly lying through your teeth? Then again any PR guy is probably just happy having a job with his super-useful communications degree.

I played alot of the beta. I liked some things but HATED how spammy the game is. For a large majority of the classes normal attacking is useless and you have a skill that you spam every second in the place of attacking. What the hell is the point of making auto-attack do no damage and instead having you spam a skill that essentially BECOMES the autoattack. This added way too much useless buttonmashing for my taste.

This game looks better and better every time new screenshots come out.

That's just ridiculous. There are basically two choices if they want their game trailer to get attention on a television channel: G4 and SpikeTV. Unfortunately there is no intelligent thoughtful gamer channel out there.

It's funny to me he says this when his whole rant is an example of it. Your, in my opinion, mediocre game actually makes money and yet you still have to close the studio. Sounds like either terrible management or someone is lying. And of course it's not terrible management, it's these bastard pirates, reviewers, stupid customers, and even stupider hardware vendors. Not because the game was a mediocre Diablo-clone. Never! I know alot of folks who played the demo and had no interest in playing the larger game because it held almost no creative ideas to set it apart from other similar games. It's claim to fame was "Diablo in Ancient Greece" for the most part.

The second Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion pack coming?
Dakar replied to funcroc's topic in Computer and Console
I wonder if this is gonna be a "reboot" expansion or if it will continue on (I didn't finish MOTB yet so not sure if that is possible or not).? -
Real Breaking News: Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer
Dakar replied to Sand's topic in Computer and Console
Looks like it's shaping up really well. Although I must say I despise epic content. -
Which is funny because it's not like there's a shortage of scantily clad RPG women.

1. HK-47 - God I love him, I wish he was in every game EVER. (KOTORs) 2. Viconia - Best female D&D party member ever. (BG2) 3. Slade - A ratman thief that becomes a NINJA. (Shining Force II) 4. Viki - Ultra useful, cute, and actually very strong in latest Suikoden. (Suikoden) 5. Frog - Awesome swordsman frog that wields a legendary sword. (Chrono Trigger) 6. Korgan - Kick-ass no nonsense killer dwarf. (BG2) 7. Edwin - Amazing wizard and fellow devious thinker. (BG2) 8. Canderous - To me he is Korgan in space. (KOTOR) 9. Georg "Deathblow" Prime - Probably my favorite Suikoden swordsman ever. (Suikoden V) 10. Dekar - He was cool so I stole my name from him, sort of. (Lufia 2) I just noticed reading my list I have two characters that are anthromorphic. And I HATE anthromorphic races in games. I guess I like those two because they weren't cat people and were unique and not part of larger ill-conceived anthromorphic races.

I have less hope for this game now. Each time more info is released it is normally comprised of crappy design choices hidden in doubletalk as exciting game mechanics. Pass.

Real Breaking News: Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer
Dakar replied to Sand's topic in Computer and Console
Whoever makes the class decisions for NWN must have the biggest caster hard-on ever. There better be good news in the coming months for some play types that haven't recieved as much love. -
What sucks about MMOs are the fact that the massive amounts of people breaks almost every game system. The most fun I've had on an ORPG was a 100 or so person RP-based UO shard with a scaled down world. The Secret World does look interesting, but I have doubts it can really redefine what it needs to in order to keep me happy. And if AO is any indication, this will be fun for a little and then be a chore when the imbalance and poor design catch up to it. EDIT: Oh this is for 360 too? Then there is no way it doesn't suck.

Starcraft was the greatest RTS ever hands down. As for WC3, I DESPISE the main game, but DotA is the greatest custom user map EVER. I found heroes stupid and unneeded in the normal game as it completely threw everything off. But using the heroes system in a bigger way with less micro-management but much more depth is just great.

My interest in this game has wained considerably as time has gone on. As it is I'm anticipating Dragon Age much more and it's doubtful Mass Effect will get a purchase from me on day one.

Is that final? Has no pre-requisites for Able Learner... hmmmmm.

It's About Time Somebody Said It!

I don't understand why the heads of fanboys would explode. Are there alot of LucasArts fans around? LMAO If anything this shows people that is REALLY isn't Obsidian's fault. -
I played BL halfway through and didn't encounter any bugs that I can think of. One time I had severe slowdown but that was it (and i was running bittorrent at the time heh). Oh and my system was slow as balls after I closed the game, but never a problem in game. As for this review i'm not sure what to think. The only problem I had with a non-patched KOTOR1 was two corrupted quicksaves which was alot better than I was lead to believe would happen if I played it. This review is good to me since it says the story is great, which is all I really care about. But to think they had these extra months and weren't doing that much bug squashing makes me sick. Oh well, i'll just wait to play it and see if I have any problems.

Future games you are seriously looking forward to.

Any new news bout PC version extras etc?
Dakar replied to Darth Makaan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I just want them to fix the difficulty and no bugs (although a lot of people say they experienced no major problems).
