i don't think that would pan out too well. Ziggy doesn't really play defense. But just picture the points that little bastard would put up. I like that idea better than your Modano to the Oilers, alanschu

Actually the CBA has new low risk contracts for injured players. If said player missed more than 40 games the season previous, he can be signed for significantly less money with bonus clauses to equal out their salary. And I haven't heard anything about Adam Deadmarsh since the end of 03/04. That guy has really had it rough. I know people are going to say ' he's rich' but he has been in pretty rough shape trying to recover from post concussion syndrome. At the tail end of the last season they showed him in the LA Kings arena, and he really didn't look too good. Apparantley ( mind you this was over a year ago) he was having a fair bit of problems. They brought him to the arena hoping some familiar sights and sounds would help. Crowds really freaked him out, nearly causing panic attacks. As a concussion victim myself, I can relate... I was hoping Palffy would be going back to the Kings to play with Demitra. Now with J.R. signing I can't see that happening. Too bad, he was my leading point getter in my pool until he was injured.

Ulic Qel-Droma or Revan

I voted for Ulic. I'm just a fanboy. And the tatoo on the forehead takes balls, you know. -
And the realism is a nice touch, as well. It looks like a drawing from a photograph. Great work!

What music are you listening to right now?

the pixies -wave of mutilation (u.k. surf) Eddie Rabbit- every which way but loose. This is an oldy. At work they put out a bunch of low priced DVDs and that title has been burning holes in my pockets. 10 bux for vintage Clint Eastwood seems like a good deal. Plus there's Clyde, the middle finger flippin', beer drinking, orangutang( I have no clue how to spell that word, my bad) -
Your girlfriend is hot, Mkreku, so just agree with her! It is unfortunate that teams still expect their star player to be a one man answer to a clubs problems. Last time I checked, 20 other people are still on the team. But because they make the big coin the scrutiny can be harsh. As for the Leafs, who knows what they have in store. It's still early, and there is still a few good players left. And the Sabres did make a move today, signing Teppo Numminen away from Dallas. Good job. I hope the Stars finish last behind Columbus in the division.

I'm hoping the CBC plays more Edmonton/Vancouver/Calgary games than Leaf ones this year.
-
I still can't (won't) cheer for the Flames. If they win the cup this year, they might get a little golf clap. I was Mr.Unpopular during the last playoffs cheering for Tampa Bay in an Albertan town.
-
While Toronto does...nothing. Sorry Mkreku. Maybe Ferguson is actually digging RRs corpse out with his bare hands? Is it just me or is the Northwest division going to pwn the West this year?
-
2 years, 10.7 million. Now Bobby Clarke is trying to shop J.R. somewhere. Forsberg, if healthy, could carry the Flyers all the way in the east.
-
Don't do it! Alanschu! Don't do it! Sportsnet is talking about some Swedish superstar going to Philly. Forsberg, perhaps?
-
That is actually a valid point. Dallas doesn't look like quite the contender they used to right now. But by next week who knows what these teams will look like.
-
Those are amazing and are completely worthy of finishing touches.

Professionals who also like to sit out for a year ( Peca). And these two are also a little injury prone. Pronger is a total uprgade over Eric Brewer, but the York/Peca move isn't looking like a stellar deal. And least we didn't have to give up the future for Peca. Who's left in the Oilers developmental system for blueliners now? I know that Wowyitka kid was touted as the next big thing on the back end. And Doug Lynch was a solid guy along the lines of Jason Smith. Mike Modano would never sign with the Oilers. If anything, now it looks like the team needs more help on the right side than on center, with Reasoner, Stoll, Peca filling up those slots. Doesn't Horcoff play the pivot spot sometimes as well?
-
As of this point, I think that maybe Kevin Lowe should start signing the numerous restricted free agents on the roster and then see if he has any room left to wiggle. I also wonder about this years' captaincy. Peca was the captain in NY, Pronger in StLoo. This could make for a heated dressing room. Maybe the Oilers PPV will give us a lot more dressing room access like they did the last time out.

Pete Yorn- music for the morning after. Good album. -
I'm not sure I like that move. York seemed to only be getting better, and actually had games in the 03/04 that he seemed to be carrying the team. I haven't seen that from Mike Peca in a while. But Peca, Smyth and Radek Dvorak might be a pretty entertaining front line. Until the puck drops, I guess...
-
And Segei Gonchar signs with Pittsburgh. I just woke up to see Naslund and Iginla resigned. This season is getting better by the day.
-
I could be wrong, but I remember the Oil letting him go after the 03/04 season. Incidentally, Fergie shares the same agent as Neidermeyer, and I watched an interview with the guy today and he said he actually has a few teams looking at Feguson. If this is true or not, I don't know.
-
It might help the power play make it into the middle of the pack, but will the Oil have a glaring hole on defense if Pronger goes down? And Eric Brewer never did seem to live up to the hype. I mean, did he hit ten goals in any of his seasons in Edmonton? I still think Ralfaski would have been a good fit. Scott Ferguson is no longer with the team. Who do you think should pair up with Pronger? I'd leave Smith and Uly together. And Cory Cross might seem expendable out of all of the group. So maybe Staios would be an ideal partner? Then again , you could split up the offensive guys and have them pinching while the stay at home defencemen do their thing. Cool questions, hopefully they have a press conference today sometime. Somehow 4.6 million doesn't seem like as much as it used to in the NHL. Hopefully this brings down the price of Neidermeyer for the Canucks...

Oh sweet jesus. Eric Brewer. Gone. Jeff Woyitka. Gone. Doug Lynch. Gone. In return. Chris Pronger . Discuss http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=132273

Its probably because they are a little more professional. Personally, I prefer the Score for its ticker, but I like sportsnets' programming better. 20 Cubs games this summer plus the Oilers, Hooah!! Does ESPN even give a nut about hockey. And do you get ESPN in Edmonton?
-
I hope this all these free agents are completely signed by the end of August so I can get started with my hockeypool sheet. If Ziggy Palffy resigns with LA, I think I have my bread and butter in the pool this year . And I saw on sportsnet that Jason Allison is a physical away from joining the Leafs. This season just keeps getting better. You have the new old timer team ( Florida) , an Czech team entry ( NYR) , and enough player transactions to make your head spin. Go hockey!
