  1. The subject of todays review will be Darth Drabek. Some of our newer members may not know who Drabs is. That's because he is firmly nestled in the loving arms of the "What Music are you Listening To Now" thread. Personalized epitaphs: Literally a literary rockupedia of knowledge Mellow poster Have guitar will travel Besides being armed with the allmighty Bass Guitar Of Wisdom +7 (+9 versus nonhumans), Drabek is also equipped with a University degree. His knowledge of kewl music seems nearly unsurpassed, yet he shows no signs of arrogance regarding the subject. This makes Drabek a welcomed contributor to our little forum. Darth Drabek rarely strays from what he knows, and often tries to be the voice of objectivity when a topic enters the bitter or disgusting zone. This reviewer tried to find a derogatory or negative post in Drabeks' history, but could come up with none. I thought that possibly this: was the exception although it turned out to be a song reference. This review would be lacking even more if the subject of Drabeks' avatar was not brought up. +10 T.O.M.B.S. points are awarded for keeping the same picture for what must be a record on these boards. Easily identifiable and even more recognizable, it shows DD to be a man of both class and good taste. In summary you have to be a little bit of a nutter not to like Darth Drabek. Unconcerned with spamming or the almighty post count, his contributions to his favorite threads have made for some interesting reading. This reviewer thinks said member could possibly contribute to more threads, but Drabeks' preferences in regards to where he posts are his own business and perhaps the forums loss.
  2. Well viewers who aren't absolutely ****faced and living in Canada are being treated to a doozy of a game tonight between Edmonton and Calgary. Calgary went up two nothing only to have the Oil score three straight goals. Then Calgary pots two more and now teh good team just tied things up. I have to quit typing because I'm missing the game.
  3. I just got in from work. I have to go back in the morning for some double time plus, so I figured I'd be good this year and let someone else throw up all over the back of my friends car.
  4. On the subject of tanking to get high draft picks, you can't help mention the Alexander Daigle incident a few years back. And as much as tonight is a 'put up or shut up' night for the Oilers, I'm (just about) more interested in how Ottawa will fare over the next couple of weeks. No Havlat or Spezza, and now Alfreddson is out with a broken rib. He said he expects to be skating in a few days. All I can say is good luck buddy, because trying to play hockey with cracked ribs will hurt like a sonofabitch.
  5. 'Brick' by Ben Folds Five
  6. I've been putting off a report on Darth Drabek for a few weeks now. Hopefully I'll get it done tonight before the festivities begin.
  7. *whistles hockey night in canada theme*
  8. -10 T.O.M.B.S. points for whining.
  9. In a perfect world Edmonton would beat Nashville tonight then Saturday nights' game against Calgary would be for bragging rights and the top spot in the Northwest. And here is an old link to one of the nastiest injuries in hockey recorded on tape. Enjoy!!
  10. One of the discs for TTT has an extra clip of Gollum/ Andy Circus from the MTV Movie awards, its a good laugh.
  11. I thought the weight loss from that show made it creepy . It made me think of Robert Deniro in Raging Bull, just at the opposite end of the spectrum.
  12. I had to pinch myself twice when I saw this. Go Whalers!!!!
  13. Are you listening to the game right now Alan? Rally caps are on. "
  14. Malkin is Pittsburgh property if I'm not mistaken.
  15. I'll buy whatever system that Willie Nelson endorses.
  16. Here is an old favorite of mine from Matthew Sweet. It's not the top song that I listen to the most on the album, but if I posted the lyrics to that I'd come off looking like a wuss. So anyhoo... Someone To Pull The Trigger Matthew Sweet Well I
  17. Well I just ordered the Oilers PPV against the Wild tonight. Hopefully there will be a better result than the turnover-frenzied-yawnfest of the game on Boxing day. I have a slight chance of climbing back into first in my hockey pool tonight with one of my teams ( please don't ask about the other one ) if the gawds of luck are smiling down on me .
  18. Yesterday I hid myself off from the world, unplugged my phone and watched discs 2 thourgh 4 of my Firefly DVD set and then finished the day with Serenity. I am a leaf on the wind
  19. It looks like you might not be ssing Darcy Tucker tomorrow night, Mkreku. Since the league tends to look down on players who smack other players over the head with helmets and all. And I guess Edmonton can share the lead in the northwest with Calgary. For today, that is.
  20. Well Canada took its first step towards ( hopefully) a gold at this years world junior championships, beating Finland 4-1. Not bad for a team with only one player returning from last years squad.
  21. And don't forget 'Just Like Heaven'. An ex turned me on to that song a few years ago, and I sung it to her on her answering machine, not knowing she would use it as her greeting for anyone that called her. Damn Sagitarrians.
  22. I totally agree with you, Drabs!!! I say the same thing to myself, sometimes, but usually it's referring to my taste in women. Anyhoo, right now I'm listening to 'Joey' by Concrete Blonde.
  23. I just finished watching the first disc of my new Firefly DVDs. It was damn good. Now I finally get Kumquatq3s' " we're too pretty to die" quote.
  24. Well, my brother brought his girlfriends' family with him for Christmas dinner and after we finished stuffing ourselves silly, he announced that he and his old lady are finally tying the knot. So I got a sister for Christmas. Weirdest gift evah!! And my mom got me some longjohns. Oh and the Firefly DVD set (w00t) !!
