  1. That's faster then diablo... <_<
  2. Because it allows to have a limit on the number of levels you can attain, without using a cap. Torment had such a system, and it worked wonderfully, it's Bioware and their damned policy of making games as n00b friendly as possible that creates all sorts of problems, stupid level caps among many... I was being sarcastic you goof. The fact is that leveling shouldn't become the focus of the game. After a few quick level ups at the beginning (to reflect the fact it doesn't take much of an efford to master the basics), leveling should slow down considerably towards the middle of the game, subsiding behind the story and atmosphere of the game, just a background feature to reflect your character's growth. After all, this isn't freaking Diablo...
  3. http://www.warcry.com/scripts/columns/view...=252&colid=3099 Nothing new there, but there's a few decent quality screenshots i never seen before. Meh, i just saw the character model i used for my Revan in the original (the guy in the blue robes). Hopefully, you'll be able to tell the game how Revan looked, among other things, it would be kind of wierd to see a bunch of Revans look alike roaming the place...
  4. That was mature. Past your bedtime is it? Maturity is over-rated.
  5. Last time i checked this forum was about Sith lords (an RPG, and one made by Obsidian), not the Star Wars leatherbound frathernity lounge. Perhaps you can just STFU ?!? Just a thought...
  6. No. Now go away. You can't stop the wave. It's Star Wars, it's Bioware, we can't win against the two of them combined...
  7. Please, lay down on whatever it is that your smoking. better ones, pff...
  8. Because i like RPGs and i'm a fan of former BIS ?!? Just a thought...
  9. Can anybody explain to me, in all fairness, how did this individual ever manage to become a director and a multi-millioner producer ?!? Is he a marketing genious who first understood how you can't understimate the stupidity of the American public, or is he dumber then dumb himself and simply found sucess out of sheer dumb luck ?!? I don't get it. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Willow, Howard the Duck, all extremely sucessful movies, all immensely dumb. He's like a rabid 13 (actually, make that 9) years old who found himself in the body of a full grown man and established film maker. Now i don't have the whole scope of his filmography, so i don't know if he ever made any films that weren't targeted to 5 years olds, but, is his position justified at all ?!? I kinda of enjoyed the second Star Wars film (which he didn't write nor directed), and the Indiana Jones movies (which he didn't direct either), but i still can't understand what to make of it. And yet, looking at the new lows Hollywood reatches everyday and how succesful they are, i can't but concur his filmography style (that is, make your movie as dumb as you can) is a deliberate strategy out of his keen understanding of the idiocy of his own audience. Discuss...
  10. Considering this game is going to be about the lenght of the original game, how fast is all this leveling going to be ?!? Will we ever be able to roleplay a little beetween leveling ?!?
  11. If he needs a dictionary for that, he's even dumper then i though he is. Let's add to the list : Darth (in)Vader Darth (in)Sidous Whoever came up with all this goofy names should be strangled in front of their children...
  12. maybe difficulty levels would help? padawan jedi knight jedi master that type of thing? It's amazing how the simple concept of a difficoulty bar has managed to elude Bioware since the original Baldur's Gate (which was also incredibly easy, and loaded with XPs). But even then, having an extra difficoulty setting would only buff the hit points, damage and saving throws of your opponets, making the game more fustrating rather then challenging. I would prefer if they added a balanced strategic element to each encounter, creating challenge throught design rather then simply making the enemies stronger (which wouldn't make any sense). Sadly, i doubt it'll ever happen...
  13. Why evertime somebody complains about 'freedom' in a game they always and up whining how they can't kill anybody ?!? WTF ?!?
  14. The dang story line ended in KOTOR I, there's nothing to continue upon. Revan ended up being the Yoda of it's time and that's as far as you can get, what's to continue ?!?
  15. Yeah, but that's a design flaw, so the argument it's moot. Dual wielding is an idiotic concept that has been really popular for the mere fact it looks 'cool', and we all know all the whiny little 13 years old wussies always have to go for the 'cool' thing. As odd as it sounds considering their age, they seem to have little to no imagination. In a world where one lightsaber hit would mean instant death, brandishing two light sabers would be suicide. Dual wielding has rarely been a pratical solution in almost all melee combat scenarios, and even then it involved the use of small, secondary weapons. Worst yet, there have been even less instances where dual wielding has ever been used in the context of dueling (as opposed to open combat).
  16. Er..., how is a level 1 jedi not weak ?!? Yes because having Revan forgetting how to use the force and turn into a level 1 jedi for no good reason is much, much more realistic.
  17. Yoda is 900 years old, exscuse me if i find the fact Revan jumped from level 1 to level 20 in a few weeks a little distrupting to the immersion of the setting. The fact that Juhani and Jolee were just as powerful as you were didn't help either, how many Yoda-like characters do you want ?!? I'm not complaining about Revan being stronger then Darth Vader, i'm complaining about the fact Revan could knock Darth Vader out with a glance, THAT'S a little extreme if you ask me. Then do not allow an insane amount of XP for the person to reatch the cap. The cap wasn't the problem, they simply shouln't have given you the possibility to get anything near it. Bioware simply made the game so casual player friendly they just loaded KOTOR with so many XPs that even the biggest n00b could reatch the cap without much of a sweat, which in turn made the game incredibly easy for the reat of us. They did the same thing with the original Baldur's Gate (which FYI was much longer then KOTOR and yet had a cap set at level , and it's one of the things i hate the most about their games.
  18. If the level of power i wielded at the end of the game was anything to go by, i think it translated pretty damn well... B)
  19. Indeed. In real life duel, it just wouldn't work... in real life duel... well, lets just say there are no lightsabers Ever heard of suspention of disbelief ?!? Apparently not...
  20. Please, no more Star Wars games, i beg you...
  21. I would have preffered no Dark Jedi at all, just for the end bosses, like in the original Jedi Knight FPS. Jedi Outcast demistified the whole aspect by introducing an entire army of pre-fabricated Dark Jedi, and Bioware simply followed the same mistake (and even made them look like the cloned goons from Jedi Outcast, what the hell was up with that ?!?).
  22. Right, where were you listening at ?!? The lack of any form of challenge presented by this game is one of the biggest complains. I don't understand how the fact you could kill anybody in the original KOTOR with less then two hits made the game in line with the Star Wars universe. As far as i remember, killing Dark Jedis was quite a challenge in all the movies i've seen, but that could be me...
  23. I know that, we were just discussing his scores. Jeremy Soule will not be doing the music for KOTOR II sadly. Sadly indeed, particularly considering Lucas Art opted for some obscure internal composer, i guess their motto for the new game is 'go as cheap as you can'. I'm sure Obsidian involvement happend out of sheer luck, eitherwise they would have accepted anybody as long as the price would have met their budget expectation for this sequel. But then again, we all know that the best way to threat a franchise (which success is based on it's inherent level of quality) is to milk the name as much as you can, you go Lucas Art. From my part, i hope their composer (which is relatively new on the scene) does a good job, becomes famous and quits Lucas Art, ha...
  24. Indeed. In real life duel, it just wouldn't work...
