  1. Meh, i didn't mean to give her an hard time. Personally, i'm happy the stereotype is finally starting to die, god knows if i'm tired of the rabid, greasy 13 years old that corrobate my online gaming pleasure...
  2. Some of the best items of the game can be bought on the Yavin station as well as on that reseller on Korriban...
  3. It doesn't change the fact that you DO look (or sound, if you prefer) suspiciously male-ish... LOL Actually the inherent hostility is most definetly a femminine trait, most guys are just trolls... B)
  4. It looked like you did. Saying that you play only very few games gives off the impression that you are somehow ashamed of the act. It could be just a missintepretation from our part, but you must admit that statement is rather ambigous. Now, if you had said 'i play as many games as i like and that's none of your freaking buissness' there could have less chances to mistakenly assume things that aren't true. B) I think people here have more of a problem with the idea of a hot girl playing games then with the mere concept of a female gamer...
  5. Very well. Why the need to specifiy you play only very few games ?!? In retrospective, i think there are many more activities to be ashamed of, such as listening to pop music, for one...
  6. And there i thought this was a sign that the prejudice against video games was beginning to fade. Please, don't brake the illusion that gaming is filled with hot babes of all types, it made drooling over hot pixeladed characters all the more fun...
  7. I made all my money selling granades, mines (many of which i disarmed myself) and powerups of all kinds. Since my main Jedi could chop his enemies to peices within seconds, who needed any of them ?!? Pazaak playing on Yavin aslo gave me lots of credits, as well as winning the swoop race on Mannan. As for lightside being poorer then dark side, i don't think there was much to be made by keeping all the rewards. Indeed, it felt kinda of stupid for my DS character to bust his balls stealing 50 credits from a helpless victim with 200.000 credits in his pocket...
  8. Didn't the first Jedi Knight had a Dark Jedi Whill as one of the end bosses ?!? I think it was coupled with another Dark Jedi of some other race of considerable size (in master-blaster style). The big guy was relatively easy, but that little sh*t was a damn b*tch to defeat, i almost developed a compulsory hatred for the whole race, the little rat kept jumping away from my light saber...
  9. What's the name of those two monsters-in-one things ?!? I'd love to see a Jedi version of one of them... B)
  10. Jolee was pretty funny, and Kreira seems acceptable, but let's not go over-board with those senior Jedi. Beetween Kreira and that Yoda wannabe i would go insane trying to constantly keep them alive in combat. Ho yes, i'm completely disregarding the rabit twisting monkey scene from Episode II. If you need a crane to walk and you've been living hundreds of years beyong your expected longevity, there's no chance in hell you are going to turn into a demonic wolverine, thank you. Instead, let's have a young jedi from the same race. They could even expand those creatures background a little, where do they come from, who they are ect.
  11. But then again, he seems rather new to the scene, so who knows. Granted, i'm not sure how much he understands the impact this game could have to his career. I wish there was a way to warn him about the importance of this assignement, he better be working his brains out for this one...
  12. Beleive me, they freakin' are, and i'm really hoping Half Life 2 will brake mold. They better not screw that game up...
  13. Agreed. No, KOTOR was not revolutionary, nor will KOTORII be any different. Of course, i don't see it as a problem, at least for now. Hopefully one day we'll see an original title from Obsidian, even a revolutionary one...
  14. JAR JAR BINKS George might want a Gungan NPC to give advice throughout the game. "Mesa no likes the Sith!" "Owsah, Yousa gonna use da lightsabah??" "I tinksa yousa should do that!" I never play Dark Side if i can help, it's against my nature. But if that's happen, be sure i'll be more then happy to become the new sith lord, then we'll see about the Gungan...
  15. It this day and age, it is. Playing KOTOR was like going back of 12 years. You can't imagine my frustration when i wanted to look around Taris panorama and find out i couldn't, even in first person mode, i felt constricted like if i was playing a shooter from 1995. Now, if they don't want to change the game machanics, leave the normal screen alone, but if you're going to insert a first person viewing mode, let's have one that actually serves it's purpose, shall we ?!?
  16. That's really besides the point really, we are talking about music and it's role on this particular mediums. No one will argue William's score is what made a great deal of the Star Wars trilogy, not even you (me hopes). If KOTORII wishes to maintain the tradition of the films AT ALL, some random background yammering simply WILL NOT DO.
  17. Music is the a way to communicate emotions. Wheter in a game or in a movie, the producers are always trying to pry an emotional responce from the aduience/player, and whilst a particular shot or an action sequence may set the scene, it's up to the music to grab your harm and guide you all the way throught it. When i listen to music, it isn't unsual my mind starts popping images in relation to the emotion contained within. In a movie, the image is actually there, music is there to complete the picture. It's not about the medium (visual, aureal or interactive), it's not about listening to a CD or whatching a DVD, it's about EMOTION, it's about the reason why i do all this thngs in the first place. This are not just different mediums for personal entartaiment. They all share the same function to me...
  18. You must be a rather unmusical kinda guy... I can pretty much hum most of the sound tracks i head by memory even as we speak, i even have a few CDs of each score (well, Bartok's score in The Shining is actually a real composition and one of the greatest masterpeices of western culture, truly a work of genius). But even normal musical scores get their due off-screen as well. A movie like Once Upon a Time in the West wouldn't have been near as a materpeice without Ennio Morricone's special touch. Todays music in movies is horribly bland and forgettable, generally relying on a few themes and nothing more, it's a disgrace. Games are no different. I loved the music in Warcraft II, Total Annhilation, No One Lives Forver (60's grove galore baby), the original Ice Wind Dale, Torment, hell, even Quake 2 for christ sake (Heavy Metal = Adrenalin). Music in a game to me is FAR more important then graphics, and many other aspects of a game as well...
  19. Wow, Avellone looks doesn't look as much as a geek as i though he would. He isn't even half as annoying as Gallo or Fergues, he looks like a pretty posed individual actually, interesting...
  20. Wrong. You should be executed for even suggesting something like this. Has anybody here ever forgotten John Williams score after whatching the original Star Wars for the first time ?!? Or Basil Poledouris on Conan : The Barbarian ?!? Has anybody ever forgot the Jaws theme ?!? Or the Bartok music for Celesta, String and Percussion in The Shining ?!? What about Ligeti's Requiem from 2001 : A Space Odessy ?!? This days, wheter it's a game or a movie, musical scores are threated like cosmetic additions of little relevance, it completely sickens me...
  21. That's dark to you ?!? It looks like what, a basic RPG with great story and characters ?!? And that is bad how, again ?!? Any reason not to assume it won't happen again ?!? What excuse ?!? It's a factual vericity. You can't possibly appraise and judge a story unless you actually read it, there no other way, none, nada... Notice how i'm keeping my tone on a conditional tense ?!? Notice how i opened my sentence with 'if' ?!? You on the other hand seem to have a rather adamant opinion about the game, as you had already played it yourself. May i borrow your time machine ?!? Pretty please ?!?
  22. So what? I said The Munchkin Lords have less options, you slap me with the Munchkin classes as if they are more options, they are not. You really cannot show what more meaningful options do The Munchkin Lords have over Knights of the Old Republic since there are none, ... same old Jedi Simulator, same boring storyline (dont give that crap about being dark, most RPGs stories are "dark", SW:KotOR was dark), same s***ty engine, same stupid force power except its now more munchkin ... 1) KOTOR was NOT dark... 2) KOTOR basic characteristics were AVERAGE at best, it was the story and characters that made it rather enjoyable. 3) Avellone says that KOTOR2 will retain the same basic traits, but will concentrate on what made KOTOR great, that is, story and characters. 4) Without actually playing the game, you can't tell a story nor it's characters. 5) KOTOR2 will be darker. If the game concentrates on story, is being developed by the lead designers behind Torment, and is darker then your average Star Wars game (indluding disney KOTOR I), i can't only forsee GOOD things for this game. Hey, maybe it will even be to Star Wars games what Empires Strike Back was to Star Wars itself...
