Dragon Age: Inquisition vs The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

You are clearly not able to able read and understand much "It´s ok old guy...i hate america and your free speech, which i clearly lack so please...BRING democracy and freedom and free speech to me..i beg you..firebomb everything here like you did in ww2, preferable directly over me and then cities so you can kill as much as you can, i beg you to...than you can come in as the saviour when the war is one by someone else and let millions of "german" war prisioners starve to death.. " Thats better? No? But i guess picking out one word that doesn´t fit your style is enough to avoid a discussion you can´t win anyway right? Yeah..thought so...glad you never thaught me with that kind of education, you can only fail. so, not the last comment? guess that is another bit o' hypocrisy from you, eh? and how on earth does that quote help you? it only makes more clear that you got deep and irrational issues. lord knows Gromnir didn't bring up ww2. ww2? ... the bizarre bit is that you think you are doing well. are you a luckman dopple perchance? HA! Good Fun! Oh thanks i´m doing very well. But i do have to give you credit sticking with that idiotic way you talk. I was thinking that was RPG, but god that makes it even more funnier. That was not a quote dumbass No i was bored so i switched right in, being flexible is good Oh but Gromnir has brought up Nazis, thus the conncetion was there, *patts Gromnis head* it´s fine, i know you are not that smart, you will understand one day little Gromnir" then why put it in quotes? makes even worse if you admit you pulled outta thin air and put in quotes. you know what quotation marks signify, yes? and we brought up nazis of TODAY, 2015, in the context o' free speech. YOU stated that USA free speech IS, today, no different than eu or austrian. we gave examples o' how austrian and eu free speech is different as o' TODAY. nazi propaganda is something austria censors in 2015. speech that would denigrate the islamic faith is also prohibited. is not ww2 era speech issues we are talking 'bout. Gromnir sure as hell didn't bring up free speech as it existed in 1930s-1940s europe. ... this is getting bizarre. is there some kinda wingnut award o' the day you are trying to win? HA! Good Fun! -
What are you worried about? That Republicans if they win the election next year will change the negotiations terms...or something else ? http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-emerging-iran-nuclear-deal-raises-major-concerns-in-congress-and-beyond/2015/02/05/4b80fd92-abda-11e4-ad71-7b9eba0f87d6_story.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/arab-states-fear-dangerous-iranian-nuclear-deal-will-shake-up-region/2015/07/14/96d68ff3-7fce-4bf5-9170-6bcc9dfe46aa_story.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/israel-blasts-iran-deal-as-dark-day-in-history/2015/07/14/feba23ae-0018-403f-82f3-3cd54e87a23b_story.html so, a number o' arab nations is concerned about an emboldened and enriched iran in the middle-east, and israel, the only dependable US ally in the middle-east (ever) is also concerned and angry. but hey, at least obama got guarantees that iran would not develop its nuclear capacity, right? no? so, we got what amounts to a capitulation to demands by tehran while playing hardball with Congress? huh? but hey, before the next election, oil prices is likely to drop and a new market will be opened up for a multitude o' american businesses. HA! Good Fun! Wow...those links are full of doom and gloom. But Gromnir maybe you are letting your dislike of Obama, or rather his policies , cloud your judgement on this development ? I noticed that very few of the American members on this forum seem supportive of this initiative. I predicted that as I know the general view of Obama on these forums and thats fine, we are all entitled to our views Now back to the links, yes of course Israel and the Sunni countries in the ME will be opposed to this. The latter are obviously concerned with the domination of any Shia power and I know Netanyahu's views. I don't know how accurate the first link is, I just know I watched several interviews with really qualified people who have been involved in these negotiations and they were all supportive of the terms and what Iran agreed to. We need to accept that the people involved in the talks weren't there just to rubber stamp anything Iran asked for because the intention is to ensure that the agreement does ensure that Iran isn't able to develop a nuclear weapon. So I believe they would have taken this seriously Also lets see the strategic picture in the ME. Iran is still very influencial in the region and there government does consist of hardliners and moderates. The West can understand what the Iranian moderates want and the reality is the sanctions have been very effective at getting Ayatollah Khamenei to at least consider the proposals because we know he dislikes the West. So this was the perfect time to reach an agreement. If the West has refused to negotiate what would that have done for the region...the moderates in Iran would become marginalized as the hardliners would have gained more popular support as they would have used the usual rhetoric " the West wants to destroy us ..down with the USA" and appealed to the pride of the average Iranian. Now you have a victory for the moderate Iranian view. This is a good thing Forget the links, whats your personal issue with this agreement ? has nothing to do with obama dislike or like. and we don't have a personal issue. as we noted, the short term benefits is obvious, but whether you like obama or dislike him, you gotta see the potential future problems, no? the articles we link is hardly the most cynical examples o' dire portents. iran's leaders has offered up rather alarming rhetoric as recent as a few weeks ago, and you not need look hard to find images o' "average iranians" burning USA and Israeli flags as recent as Days ago. again, the goal, s'posed, were to put the kibosh on the iranian nuclear program. that ain't what we got. to make the deal work, the President made a unilateral decision to end the sanctions imposed by Congress, and he had to know that his decision would anger our one actual ally in the middle-east: israel. am not certain how we view this as any kinda a victory o' diplomacy... 'less you are speaking from tehran's perspective. but again, there will be obvious short term benefits and the problems may never become more than hypothetical. however, given the history o' the region, that kinda optimism strikes us as dangerously naive. is not about like or dislike o' obama and am not sure what kinda personal stake you might imagine us having. HA! Good Fun!

we got a priest o' berath character that we stopped playing immediate after we cleared raedric's keep. in the beta, we went with mace as our weapon o' choice for priests o' berath, but justice is available early and tidefall is found not much later, so we were considering greatswords. m 21 c 9 d 13 p 10 i 15 r 10 our divine marks were getting reliable crits even at low levels. chose island aumaua for the +2 might and the extra weapon set. the thing is, we like the dialogue options that go along with high per, int, and res. yeah, we can use food and items and the right inns to boost one or maybe even two attributes, but we like to have all three talky attributes high. for our all-priest party, we did indeed have a priest that were a 2-handed weapon specialist. we like quarterstaves with their reach, but tidefall and mabec's morningstar is potential available much earlier than special staffs... and the speed mod is broken so the one early available unique fine staff is actually handicapped. in the end we went with a hearth orlan priest o' eothas wielding the morningstar, and casting dire blessing every freaking combat encounter. more stun weapons in our party is good. HA! Good Fun!

so the austrian guy hates that americans think that their free speech is unique and he hates americans glorifying war heroes. want us to show a list o' statures and memorials in austria that venerate war heroes? am thinking we already went over the free speech stuff. " Point being..because you seem so..american..." and to you that is a criticism? HA! and which one o' us has the problem? HA! Good Fun! -
lol! That's kind of a cross between Eder's intentional humor and Durance's unintentional humor eh? Alright, something I always wanted to ask is about Holy Radiance. I find there are some important exceptions to ability descriptions working as advertised, and this is one. The tooltip lists the burn damage of Holy Radiance as having no enemy type restrictions, but Frightened being only Vessels. I have only seen it do either damage or Frightened to Vessels. I have not seen it even damage non-vessels. In an early play through I took Brilliant Radiance, and I still didn't see it damaging non-vessels. Is this in line with your experience? Because you don't mention Vessel-only burn damage restrictions. It would be awesome if it burned everything, and it is awesome against vessels even though my priest is not my main, but in my experience it only burns vessels. yup, holy radiance has a heal aspect and a burn aspect, but the burn only harms vessels. a pc priest with fully enhanced holy radiance (even w/o brilliant radiance) does serious damage to vessels, and there is more than a few vessels in the game. am not seeing a good reason to ever take brilliant radiance however. HA! Good Fun

short term benefits to the iran deal is obvious. potential long term problems will be an issue for future administrations here and abroad. isn't particular fair to those future folks, but such is life, eh? HA! Good Fun!

Considering that the translation is pretty spot on and suggest you are teacher, it´s a pretty good assumption AND was a question, but i guess you can´t answer the rest so you took the easy way out Yes i was right, you are arrogant. Thats ok No point in talking with you then. has nothing to do with translations. you assumed that because we taught at some point in the past that we are a teacher? why? Gromnir worked as a roofer in high school. we had a job in a materials lab for one summer in college. we also worked at a juvenile detention facility. you make poor assumptions, much as you assumed you knew how USA free speech worked compared EU or austrian free speech. why do you keep making silly assumption based on nothing save ignorance? *shrug* you ain't considered that your patriotism and absence o' genuine knowledge has led you to make assumptions that don't have a basis in fact? Gromnir offered a reflection that we had a similar experience to danny elfman-- when we first returned from an extended time abroad, we were at our most patriotic. that patriotism, which were never all that strong, has cooled as did elfman's. is an observation o' our personal experience. we didn't actual bother reading your earlier post, but did you make the assumption that Gromnir is particularly patriotic today? *chuckle* am not sure how many times we has criticized the US on these boards and am pretty darn certain we mentioned how our initial upbringing colored our outlook o' the US. free speech is one thing the US does different and better. continued relations with domestic dependant nations (an odd legal fiction) makes us chafe a bit. list all the things we think US does wrong and we is gonna sound more like a revolutionary than a patriot. *shrug* you is gonna assume as best fits your worldview... colored by your patriotism? HA! Good Fun! -
depends. paladin or priest? if is paladin, then you likely need a priest too. ok, right from the start we need make clear that player character paladins and priests are better than any joinable companion or adventure hall product. faith and convictions is an inherent paladin quality. IF you have at least 3 in your chosen order's favored dispositions, you get +11 to deflection and +22 to your fort/ref/wil saves. sparkly. for a priest, high values in favored dispositions offers increased powha for your holy radiance ability, which can be significant. the thing is, only the player character benefits (or suffers) from disposition alterations to abilities. paladins make decent secondary support characters, and they can also be a primary tank. am personally believing many folks tend to waste paladins in their attempt to build a perfect pure tank. you don't need ultimate deflection to be an effective and superlative worthy poe tank. however, a great tank with a handful of incredible support abilities is what distinguishes the paladin from other tanky classes... but your mileage may be different. poe is flexible enough that your way, chosen through whim, experimentation or ignorance, is not necessarily gonna be wrong. darcozzi paladini get an excellent support ability above and beyond what other paladins have available to them. there is a minor flame shield option for dp paladins which is meh, but the prize is inspiring liberation which is usable 2x per encounter and allows your paladin to free an ally from many debilitating effects while providing a +10 accuracy boost. zealous focus is an aura that boosts accuracy and stacks with a priest's inspiring radiance. add in inspiring radiance and you see impressive accuracy enhancements. dependable accuracy boosts without the need for spell casting is invaluable. highest attribute score for Gromnir paladins is always int as boosting that attribute will result in significant duration increases of our limited abilities. if you only have a few abilities, you might as well have them last through an entire battle, eh? it is our opinion that kind wayfarers have the best heals outta the paladin orders, but that isn't saying all that much. priests are closer to classic fantasy crpg heals, but there are a few differences to be aware of when getting started. there will be a suggestion or two to dump constitution as that is a kinda universal dump stat in the minds o' many folks. sadly, priests have the worst starting health possible and relative poor deflection as well. as a priest, you are fragile. dump con with caution. personally, we never drop con below 9. ... priests were the single most under-appreciated class during the beta. there were multiple MVP Class threads between august of 2014 and march of 2015 and only Gromnir ever claimed that priests deserved consideration as the bestest class. weird. a priest makes a relative poor tank (though we did create a dwarf priest to tank for an all-priest party and he were viable) but he/she can fulfill multiple other roles. dual wield clubs or stilettos as a priest o' skaen and you will get decent weapon dps in addition to having your excellent support and damage-dealing spells. perhaps you wanna keep your priest ranged? a priest o' magran with inspired flame makes an excellent gunner... if you spend the talents. however, to be decent with weapons you must need take your deity's favored weapon talent, plus a weapon focus talent and likely 1-2 more weapon related talents. that is a lotta talents. converse, perhaps you want your priest to instead sit back (you can't sit back too far as you have relative short range on your spells) and cast poe version o' heals and support spells? that works too. btw, don't get too worked up on attribute scores, regardless o' advice received here or elsewhere on these boards. we finished poe potd with three different characters: dps melee rogue, support priest, tanky paladin. all three of our characters had similar attribute spreads and all three were very effective. sure, we had to play to our strengths and choose appropriate talents and abilities, but it is our advice to choose attributes based on rp choices rather than a belief that min-max will give you a needed edge. you don't need perfect attributes because there are no perfect attributes and because all the attributes offer some value... though con and per is currently kinda weak. m 10 c 10 d 10 p 16 i 16 r 16 is approx attribute spread o' our three different potd characters. dps. support. tank. the min-maxers is not getting as much value from their efforts as they suppose. is a numerical system, so 'course there is gonna be advantages in finding an ideal spread, but your talent and ability choices is far more important. you will not screw up your character at level 1 by accident choosing the wrong attributes. nevertheless, if we were concerned about attributes, we would say, "it depends," when giving advice about attribute allocation. *shrug* it depends on what you want from your priest. priests have relative slow cast times, and we find that dex just doesn't improve cast speeds enough to matter much. is a bit similar in reasoning as to why we no longer take the gunner talent for gunners. for a pure caster priest, we would emphasize intellect followed by might, and then choose the rest to even out your saves a bit. however, for our aforementioned priest o' skaen who is dual-wielding stilettos, we believe high dex is essential to take advantage o' her fast weapons load-out. so, it depends, yes? armour is a personal call kinda thing. the second chance quality is great, but a choice 'tween heavy and light armours is gonna much depend on personal quirks and weapon choices. again (Gromnir opinion) your cast times is so slow that armour penalty adjustments makes little meaningful difference to most o' your spells, but, if you are gonna use weapons, your armour choice is gonna need take such into account. and no matter what, you should consider how relative squish you are when choosing armour. is a few clowns who choose to have their 3 con priests go naked into battle. 'course the first time the party rogue gets charmed and kills you with two hits, that particular wardrobe choice is looking less dapper, eh? ok, now this is the part 'bout priests that is overlooked, likely based on lingering misguided notions carrying over from the beta. the priest is an excellent offensive spell caster. no other class gets as much value from the scion o' flame talent as do priests-- take it. your holy radiance does burn damage and you got burn spells at early, middle and late spell levels. you wanna see the world burn? play a priest with high might and scion of flame. beyond your numerous flame spells, you also have seal spells (one o' which causes burn damage.) seal spells use hazard math to determine accuracy. a typical hazard is a wall of flame. hazards receive heightened accuracy, which makes sense seeing is how it is a stable effect that can damage friend or foe alike... kinda. priest seal spells get the hazard math, but they target foe-only. drop a searing seal down on top (beneath) your own party and only the bad guys is gonna get burned and blinded, and they will get burned and blinded. recommendation: use seal spells often. so, as a priest you are able to have a character with the highest possible accuracy with a weapon (a single weapon) and you are having the widest range o' party buffs, and your seal spells are providing you with a variety o' damaging and debilitating effects that have the highest possible spell accuracy in the game, not to mention an arsenal o' flame abilities that would make Gabriel weep with envy. general parting advice: paladins is great in support, but we don't like 'em as our sole support. however, working in tandem with a priest, they are fantastic. priests are all-round excellent, unless you want the tankiness that a chanter or paladin offers. we always have the urge to make a party with two (or more) priests. don't worry about attributes overmuch-- focus on talent and ability choices. read the talent and ability descriptions as Most such stuff works as advertised. interruption is still a relative weak effect. you can get use from it, but is largely wasteful to build a priest or paladin around the interrupter quality. 2.0 will change the balance of various attributes, abilities and talents. we do not know if there will be a respec function. if you can hold off starting play until 2.0 arrives, it might be in your best interest to do so. HA! Good Fun!

It depends, experiences vary on an indiviudal basis. Naturally. I would assume taught in spain for the most part... far less in england. spent considerable time in poland, russia and france. didn't stay too long in germany. seeing so many young nazis in germany made our skin crawl, which is too bad as one o' our bestest friends is a medical doctor from germany. while we is most frequent in japan for our asian trips, we has been to many asian nations, and has spent months at a time in the philippines, south korea, taiwan and singapore. we do admit to avoiding the islamic nations o' asia as our particular area o' expertise does not get us many invites to such places... which is telling in and of itself. been to australia only once, and never made it to south america, which is a shame. *shrug* somebody makes lotta assumptions... and your own silly patriotism had you making assumptions (false) about free speech in europe and austria v. the USA just a short time ago. one would hope that you would learn from such errors. HA! Good Fun! ps we didn't bother to mention touristy stays in nations that lasted less than a month... if we did, it would be easier to name the euro and asian nations we ain't been to. You thaught, so you are teacher i guess. stopped there... 'cause you AGAIN fail your assumption check. sheesh. HA! Good Fun! -

there is discussions on that matter in the article body as well as the feedback that follows. is non-classified and it is simulation, so one should take with a grain o' salt. even so, given the limits o' such things, the simulator in question appears less subject to bias than most and clear more advanced than harpoon. our opinion o' the USA went up substantial after spending near 2 years in europe. we were educated at one o' the more liberal-minded universities in the US where we were taught that the State were evil and incompetent. 'course our first thirteen years (and summers thereafter) living in a place that makes gaza look like a vacation destination did not provide us with a particular positive opinion o' the US either. is a quote from danny elfman that resonates with us. yeah, danny elfman, the composer and former front-man o' oingo boingo. go figure. the musician spent years abroad touring europe and africa and while his background and Gromnir's is worlds apart, we appear to have had similar revelations. "I'm not a doomist. My attitude is always to be critical of what's around you, but not ever to forget how lucky we are. I've traveled around the world. I left thinking I was a revolutionary. I came back real right-wing patriotic. Since then, I've kind of mellowed in between. It affected me permanently and totally." we studied/taught abroad in europe, and we make yearly trips to asia (mostly japan.) am suspecting that if we had never left the US for extended periods o' time, we would still be a "revolutionary." HA! Good Fun! -
Least Liked Companions
Gromnir replied to Primislas's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
for this kinda poll, we didn't read "liked" as meaning that we would wanna spend the afternoon at a ballgame with the character in question. preference as 'posed to agreeable? the presence o' most o' the joinable npcs improved our game experience. a select few joinables actual detracted from our game enjoyment. those joinables that enhanced, we liked. those joinables that detracted... *shrug* no wrong answers we s'pose. HA! Good Fun! -
custer's first stand. five cents. no injuns. *chuckle* am admitting we had difficulty getting past the 5 minute mark for the most ridiculous reason: the rattling o' that bead necklace on the blonde woman were driving us nuts. have her mic immediate adjacent to the necklace were intentional funny or accidental annoying. regardless, our ocd forced us to stop watching. priest is also useful for putting down a searing seal and repulsing seal before a battle begins... and then use a shining beacon. two or more priests makes the battle relative easy, but most folks don't have multiple priests. even so, searing seal has a large aoe size and as it uses hazard accuracy, it has a high chance o' blinding all, or nearly all, o' your foes. first spell at start o' combat for priest is likely the will boosting holy meditation for your entire party, followed by a painful interdiction. have a mage cast miasma of dull mindedness to reduce will. miasma and painful interdiction results in your will spells hit and crit rather than graze and miss. it is costly, but we tend to use amplified wave at the start o' most battles... 'cause. even if it grazes, your opponents is prone for a few seconds, and the aoe size is enormous. do you hoard scrolls o' paralysis? we do. a high accuracy character with enough lore to use a scroll o' paralysis is likely needing nerfing, but for now, you can use such to your advantage by using one o' those scrolls immediate at the start o' combat. sure, it makes more sense to wait until will saves are reduced, but the scrolls o' paralysis appear to have a quick activation time so you can get off a mass paralysis before any undead charm spams is unleashed. a borderline cheese tactic requires some careful equipment checks. IF you can manage to make your mage the member o' your party with the weakest will save, then the undead will try to spam him/her with their initial charm attacks. 4th level mage spell, minor arcane reflection, will send the charms back to sender. depending on how much o' a min-max kinda guy you are, reducing your mage will far enough could be a challenge. *shrug* multiple priests is still best bet to make easier w/o cheese... although priests do have longer casting times, and the undead don't offer much time, do they? HA! Good Fun!

so, while the advice were unnecessary in the given context, your post were meant to be helpful in future instances? we could see that, y'know, if you had shown the guy how to use the spoiler tag and if you had been, y'know, helpful as 'posed to snarky. [spo!ler] text that offends luck's delicate sensibilities [/spo!ler] replace "!" with "i" perhaps dreamrider actual already knows how to use such, but y'know, at least you would be helpful rather than a just a guy who don't know logic fallacies or how to read dictionary definitions. as an aside, second chance appears (appeared? haven't tried in recent patches and every time the game is patched, things... change.) to be limited to one per encounter as we did not see a stacking result with durance donning both saint's war scale and an additional second chance item. HA! Good Fun!

watched conan again. is our favorite fantasy movie, though raiders of the lost ark and the empire strikes back are not far behind. regardless, whenever we get the prayer to crom scene we cannot help but think o' the following scene from major league (warning: sweary) kinda messes with the moment. HA! Good Fun!

to be fair, immediate after you claimed that you were making observations 'bout your local pd, you then broke out some amusing generalizations that could easily be taken as condemnations o' cops en masse. in any event, having worked at a juvenile detention facility wherein the "residents" were treated with kid gloves, we shudder to imagine the level o' masochism required to enjoy a typical adult arrest. have personal managed to avoid the indignity o' adult arrest, if only by a hair's breadth. not matter if helen o' troy were your arresting officer, chances are you is gonna wanna forget your experience asap. and we highly recommend avoiding a friday night arrest. being arrested and processed is bad enough, but the possibility o' spending a weekend in jail with real criminals should be enough to discourage stoopid behavior by ordinary and sane folks... unless you is a fsu football player. oh, and if your super-model cop is a k-9 unit officer, do not run. wanna make the arrest fun via a chase? don't. the dogs is nasty and they don't read the Constitution or newspaper articles and they don't give a damn what color is your skin. HA! Good Fun!

considering that this portion o' the board itself has a hard-to-miss spoiler warning, we wouldn't get our panties in a bunch over how spoilers is actual handled. y'know? in any event, we tend to use a second chance item for our priest, particularly in difficult battles. given how low is priest endurance/health, they is one o' the classes most susceptible to wtf death situations. for an all-priest party we built a priest tank with a 20 con (edit: were 21 con. go figure) dwarf and his health and endurance were still laughable. more important, no doubt many has encountered the situation where everybody in party gets knocked out save for the tank who hits 'bout as hard as being licked by a kitten? get level 5 spells and placing second chance gear on a priest has the potential for transforming a reload into a win. regardless, our tank is least likely to die unexpected and our priests is a bit squishy, so keeping heals upright fits with our particular philosophy. eder's starting gear armour has second chance (oops, spoiler. HA!) and it offers a nice balance o' dr and recovery speed considerations given how early it is available in the game. durance or custom priests get saint's war scale almost immediate for us. as noted above, there is excellent plate armour that has second chance, though you gotta use an aggressive resolution to a dialogue to start a fight with the armour's owner... or you gotta reach level 9(?) of endless paths before you finish the critical path portion o' the game that takes you to heritage hill. regardless, the plate armour is, for Gromnir, better suited to a tank. the second chance plate also provides a +2 to lore if we recollect accurate. lore skill is, ironic, most efficacious for high accuracy characters such as fighters and monks. HA! Good Fun!

white marsh is in maryland, yes? could be fun to have the game set in baltimore... though is likely too controversial at the moment. on the more serious side, implements do have extreme limited use in the hands o' a character other than a wizard. blast is gonna be a multi-class talent, but am not certain how weakened it will be. implements does strike us as a largely wasted addition to the game at this point and their class-specific nature is running contrary to general poe design principles. HA! Good Fun!
