Coronavirus: Triple Edition
Fauci debunks theories of low CDC coronavirus death toll: 'There are 180,000-plus deaths' in U.S. On Sunday, Twitter removed a post retweeted by Trump that claimed the CDC had "quietly" updated its guidance to indicate only 6% of the country's coronavirus death toll — roughly 9,000 deaths — was actually caused by the virus, according to a CNN report. The tweet said the remaining 94% had "other serious illnesses." Fauci told the ABC program "Good Morning America" on Tuesday that the CDC guidance, last updated on Aug. 26, indicates that of the people who have died from the virus, "a certain percentage of them had nothing else but just Covid." However, people with underlying illnesses also die from Covid-19, he said. "That does not mean that someone who has hypertension or diabetes who dies of Covid didn't die of Covid-19. They did," Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told the program. "So the numbers you've been hearing -- there are 180,000-plus deaths -- are real deaths from Covid-19. Let (there) not be any confusion about that." "It's not 9,000 deaths from Covid-19, it's 180-plus-thousand deaths," Fauci said. am thinking is good we got memorialization o' the original misleading info 'cause w/o is easier to dismiss gullibility and ignorance o' faceless masses. tell selves, "who could possibly fall for such obvious claptrap?" (am old enough that we actual use words like "claptrap," so sue us.) we marginalize those who don't know enough to know better, but these folks is also affected by the pandemic direct and indirect. their behaviour impacts others, including their own family members and friends, and they are not self aware enough to see selves as acting irresponsible. these nameless and faceless persons read something somewhere which tells 'em there is so much overreaction to covid-19 which is what they want to believe instead o' acknowledging the reality, a reality which is all to clear that the failure to take more serious action has placed the US near the bottom o' relative world deaths as a percentage o' population... and that is with first world medicine keeping deaths lower than would be the case in many nations who don't have mayo clinics and mt. sinai medical. were only one person on these boards who needs face unfortunate history regarding embarrassing promotion and tenacious embrace o' bad info, but is chances he weren't alone in believing the hogwash being promoted by many including the POTUS. should be a teachable moment, but hurl is far better suited for such than old Gromnir. am not particular motivated to empathize with those we see as lost cause, but such shouldn't stop others from doing the right thing. HA! Good Fun! ps https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/adults/reasons-to-vaccinate.html https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/vaccines/index.html vaccines is, relative speaking, safe. you need to be open and honest with your doctor about existing medical conditions and any drugs you might currently be taking, but real long-term serious side-effects and dangers o' any common available vaccine approved by the fda is gonna be low, and much lower than dangers o' contracting or spreading diseases. talk with a doctor. we may make you feel embarrassed about questioning the safety o' vaccines, but is highly unlikely your doctor will behave so unprofessional. ask. don't rely on the internet.

nope, but call out lies for what they are shouldn't be something we do only with a magistrate forcing us to do so. lie 'bout antifa doesn't sudden become ok 'cause vol sees 'em as bad. state allows pro-life people to put flyers on car windshields at a state fair but not a white supremacist group? why? what is the basis for the difference in treatment? if the chilling behaviour is based on the content o' the message, then is unconstitutional. no guilt for Gromnir. we shouldn't need explain such. late edit: am hopeful is an unnecessary clarification, but strict speaking we didn't defend as we were invariably the plaintiff's attorney and the government were defense. proof. we have pointed out the inaccuracy o' vol crazy train generalizations of antifa and blm. is not same as defending the behaviours, and goals o' antifa. show where antifa as an organization supports rape as a tactic. you made such a claim and never backed it up with proof. constant recognizing the rabid and unsubstantiated gross generalizations made by vol concerning any number o' groups is not support o' such groups. as an attorney, we represented gangs and white supremacists and religious groups with questionable motives (cults.) we made certain each such client understood how we personal found their organization and members to be repugnant gutter trash and if we saw 'em bleeding to death in an alley we would possibly hesitate before calling 911, so help us God. such personal disgust did not prevent us from defending their first amendment claims, 'cause even though we saw such clients as ambulatory human offal, they might nevertheless be victims o' injustice. history made clear to us how it weren't so long ago that naacp and homosexuals were treated the same way we felt 'bout the kkk and the crips and recent events should make clear to all that society may regress as well as evolve. we criticized vol. is ez and is the right thing to do. criticize vol is not the same as supporting antifa. Justice Department investigating BLM protest leaders, funding in Portland and other cities is not as if Gromnir has a crystal ball. this kinda thing is predictable and is the reason blm doesn't have a real organization or leadership structure. authoritarian governments target group leadership to suppress the message, which is precise why hong kong protests has eschewed leadership. even so, we stated earlier how perhaps blm needs a face and a voice to combat the wh lies 'bout the protests and protesters, but this kinda concerted effort by the state is designed to discourage anybody from taking a leadership role. and vol clip which takes innumerable quotes outta context is hardly compelling. we will however happily concede that folks like johnny depp should be ignored. celebrity is not conferring some kinda special social awareness or wisdom. you are making flawed assumptions. younger and healthier people who refuse to take the vaccine will indeed spread it to old people. the vaccine will not be anywhere near 100% effective and many old people won't be able to take the vaccine regardless. you have reversed. the hardcore vaccine denialists, if they approach 30% or more of the population as is being reported in the US, will severe undercut the mitigation effects o' the vaccine. https://www.discovermagazine.com/health/how-effective-does-a-covid-19-coronavirus-vaccine-need-to-be-to-stop-the "If the COVID-19 pandemic was just beginning and the population infected was close to zero percent, the simulations show that vaccine efficacy would have to be at least 60 percent to stop the coronavirus if the entire population was vaccinated. Given the number of susceptible people who couldn’t be vaccinated because of age or health problems and the number who would refuse to be vaccinated, that’s probably impossible." ... "How Many People Get Vaccinated Is Crucial "Based on these findings, a vaccine with an efficacy as low as 60 percent could still stop the pandemic and allow society to return to normal. However, most if not all of the population would have to be vaccinated. "This seems unlikely, given polls showing that only about three-quarters of Americans say they would get a coronavirus vaccine if assured that it was safe. "With fewer people protected, a vaccine would have to have an efficacy of at least 80 percent to be able to stop the pandemic by itself, meaning social distancing could be completely relaxed. This can provide a target to aim for when developing COVID-19 coronavirus vaccines." bruce has inverted the problem. HA! Good Fun!

but we know they are overstating. we know trump is going to kenosha in the hope it will cause additional protests. we know fox news and the rnc will doctor images if they cannot get lurid enough content to make old people afraid. we know the trump campaign can lie, cheat and steal and not lose votes, so what is their motivation to stop the lies when the alternative is to need embrace and defend the reality of september 2020? is ez to mock and ridicule the undereducated who is being targeted by the trump campaign. those undereducated people are registered voters. old people is often afraid and they know they ain't as sharp as they once were, which is why is so contemptible how old people is targeted by internet and telemarketing scams. How Old Is the Average Fox News Viewer in America? 65 is the median age o' fox viewers, and at least a few o' those folks is undecided. in a 2016 presidential race with terrible turnout, trump lost the popular vote by a near record number. with a pandemic to contend and orwellian efforts at voter suppression taking place in plain sight, it would not be shocking if 2020 voter turnout is also on the lowish side. trump won wisconsin by 22k votes. jill stein and gary johnson accounted for 140k votes. seeing such, is anybody shocked the republicans were pushing kanye to run for the Presidency? each lie and underhanded trump effort may appear paltry and impotent. nobody suspects the butterfly. the problem with a large % of people opting out of the vaccine is that the vaccine is only gonna be effective if a high enough percentage o' the population takes it. this is much like the bogus 94% underlying conditions article some persons latch onto. if you are too ignorant to understand your mistake, you could be reaching complete wrong conclusions. once there is enough doses such that the general public will be having access, forgoing the vaccine is not saving that dose for somebody else. rather, forgoing is placing old people and people with comorbidities at more risk than necessary. https://www.vaccines.gov/basics/work/protection getting the vaccine, particular if you are younger and healthier is a bit like wearing a mask as the main benefit is it will protect other people who are at a heightened risk of dying from contracting the disease, a disease which may lead to acute respiratory distress which is indeed a pretty freaking unpleasant way to die. some number o' people, possibly many old people, won't be able to take the vaccine. the wingnuts who disbelieve every media source but converse post every conspiracy theory or fringe source claims is gonna be suspicious regardless o' how well the vaccine is tested and they won't take. will be some who opt out for religious reasons and will be impossible to force 'em to take the vaccine. each such identifiable and predictable group is gonna make the vaccine, from a practical pov, less effective. the thing is, with the trump administration making it apparent he can convince the cdc and fda to report that which is not true, the ignorant and wingnuts and conspiracy theorists is gonna gain converts from people who otherwise would be salvageable. it is reasonable to question whether a vaccine declared safe by the fda will indeed be safe, though again, ignorance is the real danger here as it is far more likely that a busted arse vaccine rushed through the final government protocols would be ineffective as opposed to actual dangerous. is too many people too ignorant to know just how ignorant they are... which would be fine save for fact that in pandemic situations, such ignorance is not a personal choice with the consequences remaining personal. don't wear a mask and fail to social distance means you may spread the disease asymptomatic. 30% o' the population opts out of a vaccine which is initial maybe 60-70% effective and many old people die unnecessarily. there is no vaccine for stoopid. HA! Good Fun!

easy to miss the passing of herman cain as he has become a more prolific social media contributor in death than he was in life. Herman Cain account tweets COVID-19 ‘not as deadly’ as media says following his death attending the super spreader event in tulsa temporal proximate to mr. cain being infected, sans mask and w/o following social distancing guidelines, was bad optics regardless of how mr. cain became ill. oh, and is noteworthy that even in death mr. cain had the good sense to delete his original tweet proclaiming the misleading 94% underlying conditions silliness which were so recent shared in this thread. DC Circuit court rules against Flynn case dismissal an 8-2 en banc decision. ... what that means is that the two appellate court judges who earlier ruled in favor o' flynn were the only dc appellate judges to agree with their previous decision. kinda the legal equivalent o' the b!atch slap. 'course a similar situation arose with the congressional subpoena o' mcgahn-- were a 7-2 smackdown in that case. on remand, the same two appellate judges fu'd the en banc decision and now we gotta go through the whole process again. it is so easy to understand why people become frustrated with judges and the law. Weird, random, interesting - now with 100% less diacriticals
underlined is hyperbole. the most common value method in eminent domain situations is fair market value. of course there is horror stories where a property owner gets screwed, and often a property owner has a very different notion o' how fair market should be determined than does the government. "i wouldn't sell for less than $500,000" does not mean the minimum market value o' the property is +$500k. income generating property made worthless by government efforts on adjacent properties also results in holdouts getting screwed by an income approach. am also disagreeing 'bout second amendment. am thinking the framers, not just madison as there were multiple drafts which were debated and altered and agreed 'pon by the assembled, had valid reasons for adding... and the portion gd finds offensive were added after reflection. the original right to bear arms bit had no mention o' militia, but every subsequent draft did. simple declaring a general right to bear arms were considered and rejected. keep in mind that for near 150 years, there weren't all that much confusion and consternation 'bout the second amendment. is genuine a bit curious how the right to bear arms evolved. were original presumed to be unincorporated and only applicable to the Fed government. the municipal and frequent draconian regulations o' firearms and/or ammo were widespread until the 20th century. for most o' US existence, folks took for granted that firearms were subject to state and local level regulation. original intent readings o' the second amendment is problematic precise 'cause gd knows enough history to recognize what kinda weapons were appropriate for a militia which were to be our alternative to a national standing military. furthermore, a textualist reading means we cannot ignore the well-regulated militia bit. sadly, gd is afeared those freedom hating activists on the Court will ignore text and history and point out how we have a military so the second amendment may have been rendered m00t. is no reading which gives gd room to breathe safe. there isn't a way to read the second amendment to make it a blanket and unqualified right to bear arms, which is appropriate 'cause such were the original draft text and the framers purposeful changed it. HA! Good Fun!

all of which ignores the point how the dubious aspect of a single study was being used to undermine the danger of covid-19 in general. it is unnecessary to chase rabbits. the known dangers of covid-19 is terrible enough to make any sane person wonder why, just as a random example, the US efforts to combat the threat were so lackadaisical and uninspired. is there authoritarian strongmen doing the reverse and using the virus to crush dissent? yeah, but such exploitive behaviour doesn't change the already facts regarding the dangers o' covid-19. again, is no question those in power may/will exploit fear for selfish reasons. is fair to question the motives and means o' authoritarian actors when they magnify real dangers. that said, just another virus responses is not particular constructive or wise given how readily this virus spreads in addition to the known mortality and additional long-term health consequences faced by many survivors... not that am accusing majestic o' such. opposite. even so, is best to not let the naysayers distract with relative irrelevancies. one dubious study, accurate reported, does not somehow undermine the known dangers o' covid-19. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie says the United States is fighting two pandemics “We have to own the questions of leadership and the questions about policies,” Lurie said. “There is a lot to be discussed here on that and in the future. It is heartbreaking. These are needless deaths. We should be similar to most countries on this planet, and yet, we are an embarrassment, a tragic embarrassment. That is where we stand.” huh. in the past we only ever liked the eagles when they played the cowboys, or more rare, the patriots... and perhaps green bay. not much o' a fan o' the phillies or the flyers neither, and has been a long time since dr. j played for the sixers. for a minute or two we had positive feelings 'bout a philadelphia sports team? who woulda' thunk it? Jim Gaffigan just a comedian and no more relevant than anybody else. nevertheless, has been all too easy to pretend as if the common sense o' salt of the earth midwesterners had disappeared long before their 401ks. am relieved, even if we know the feeling is fleeting and ephemeral. HA! Good Fun! ps @Guard Dog is making the same mistake as vol and is being led down the rabbit hole by trump. there is crazy protesters and violent protesters and stoopid protesters. look, am the guy who keeps saying is wrong to generalize cops and law enforcement departments even if we do see a problem with training in general. not fair to blame all cops or even all police departments. is similar not fair to blame all protesters or most. however, it is becoming far easier to blame many protesters even if they is being confronted by unsavory d-bags like the seventeen year old with the ar-15 and by too many cops who is looking to use tear gas and rubber bullets on somebody. for the folks who listen to conservative radio and watch fox news, the streets are running red with blood and only trump can save 'em from anarchy... regardless o' the fact the anarchy is happening now, with trump as President. oh, and for gd in particular, am thinking the protest related fatalities dwindle substantial if people recognize just how asinine it is to be carrying 'round firearms at protests. there will be tempers flaring, in the darkness and accidents will happen. what could possibly go wrong if you have people carrying firearms in such a situation? isn't a matter o' second amendment rights. is 'bout good sense. just 'cause law says you can have your loaded ar-15 as you protests or protest the protesters, doesn't mean you should.

blm, as o' a couple months ago, were not trademarked. as o' the beginning o' this year, back when we still cared 'bout such stuff and stayed educated, there had been more than a dozen attempts to trademark blm. were even a european attempt. is some slogans which got trademarked, but not "blm," or "black lives matter." am suspecting the trademark efforts has increased since we looked. the biggest problem facing a blm trademark is all the different groups who use blm as their name and slogan. given how widespread is the usage, is difficult to procure trademark rights, and such should only become more difficult. honest don't know 'bout antifa as it were founded in europe like 80 years past and am not sure o' the history o' the euro trademark efforts. regardless, what would be a paradoxical question for a more reflective person is water off a duck's back for vol. such willful indifference must be blissful, no? argument: any group or organization had a founder or founders and those founders constitute a kind of leadership. all groups, no matter how decentralized has a functional leadership history and cannot be described as leaderless. blm had founders and is a recognizable entity. therefore, blm has leaders. now is obvious such logic is strained, but vol cannot see the problem. if any o' the premises fail, so too does the argument, and belief founder=leadership, particular years and even decades removed is a curious conclusion, particular for a group purposefully designed to avoid the need for leadership. is literal dozens, if not hundreds o' groups claiming to be part o' blm with no direct involvement with the founders o' blm or any group whose origin might be attributed to those founders. again, is part o' the difficulty with blm gaining trademark protections 'cause is not particular convincing when any one blm group claims to be the blm. this is another case where vol read something somewhere and got confused... probable 'cause gatewaypundit or breitbart intentional tried to mislead him. blm, as o' june 2020, did not have a trademark, but, for example, a sportswear manufacturer did get a slogan trademarked which included "black lives matter." am honest not recalling the exact slogan, but were ~ a dozen words in length. had to be a bit wordy to be sufficient distinct and unique from blm. 'course this all undercuts vol's conclusion 'bout the blm organization. nobody has a blm trademark in part 'cause in spite o' multiple efforts to do so, there ain't been anybody who sufficient identified as the blm. if vol has a question 'bout trademark, he shouldn't rely on the internet, and particular not the corners where he tends to lurk. HA! Good Fun!

so... ignoring the +185k dead for a moment, a considerable large number o' people had to be hospitalized and a noteworthy number o' those folks will indeed face respiratory problems perhaps for the rest o' their lives. nevertheless, 'cause o' some random report you don't link, you are wondering if the concerns 'bout the virus is overblown. ... okie dokie. ignoring the asymptomatic stuff complete, though the asymptomatic spread makes the disease more dangerous 'cause is no obvious way to detect who may be spreading (particular as US testing, tracing and quarantine is so bad) +185k deaths and any a significant number o' people with long term diminished health should be enough to convince any sane person that the virus is a serious threat. now show us a report from a dr. which claims covid-19 will make you susceptible to the demon sex trump's dr. warned us 'bout. we would dismiss outta hand and covid-19 would not be any less a serious threat 'cause we ignored the possibility o' losing our soul 'cause a previous covid-19 infection. the stuff you already know 'bout covid-19, stuff which ain't actual debateable, should be more than enough to convince you covid-19 is an unparallelled health threat the likes o' which we has not seen for a long time.
