ok, this is gonna sound like grumpy old guy pov, but this is an opinion we had since short after our matriculation. our advice for those considering university is as follows: don't. get a blue collar job, or join the military. especial as comrade is so enamored o' the cccp, then perhaps he should first get real experience as a worker and some part-time job doing pizza delivery or some such hardly counts. contrary to myths, repair a few miles o' barbwire fence line in sub-zero temperatures o' a dakota or wyoming winter or dig irrigation trenches for rich people's homes in so cal or arizona during the summer don't build character. hard work won't make you a better person. will give perspective and chances are if you then do go to university after a couple years, you will have greater appreciation for the opportunity. perhaps you is physical not cut out for physical toil? if you have the means, volunteer inner city food bank/homeless shelters. university ain't real. people condemn the safe place language linked to universities but universities should be safe for everything 'cept uncomfortable truths. am quite happy to have universities be a comfortable zone o' safety divorced from reality, but too many university students spend four years in fantasyland thinking they has learned the secrets o' the universe when fact is many such kids has never been in the real world. so, our advice is as follows: get a job. HA! Good Fun! ps full disclosure: we did not get a job after high school and before going to university as we were an athletic scholarship student, but we had worked on a ranch for years and we had summer and winter jobs from time we were thirteen including blm wild horse roundup, roofing supply and ranch hand work from people who paid better than our grandparents.

at some point we wanna do an oracle with nature and battle mysteries + three levels o' sacred huntsmaster. take lame curse and make certain we get travel domain from sacred hunstmaster to effective nullify the malus o' lame. the friend to animals nature power mixed with a couple of teamwork feats looked like a great combo if you like animal companions and/or summons. getting the charisma modifier added to ac is nothing to sneeze at either. few posts back we mentioned how am admitted kinda addicted to animal companions and trip. is not many downsides to nature oracle other than crappy skills and as such we might eventual breakdown and try just the nature oracle + sacred huntsmaster seeing as how the second mystery thing is still busted. am knowing oracle merges the angel spell book, so is obvious synergy, but we were thinking o' trying azata anyways. we kinda like owlcat's azata from an rp pov, but it does push you hard chaotic as you get deeper in the game and as we got further into the mythic quest lines we were recalling just how much we dislike d&d/pathfinder alignment. am kinda stuck pre drezen act 2 as a few bugs made progress tedious though not impossible. HA! Good Fun! ps am not certain if is still working this way, but in the previous beta build, the sacred fist ac bonus for charisma were stacking with oracle nature mystery ac bonus.

6.2d happened in the wee hours this AM, 'cause there were a problem with 6.2c. so far it looks like class fixes are not a priority, although a few classes have been rendered... humorous. demonslayers now have favored enemy: outsiders. the thing is, favored enemy: outsiders is applying to hit and damage bonuses 'gainst all outsider but for demons. to get bonuses v. demons you need select one of three new demon-specific favored enemies: slaughter, strength, magic. am having no idea what demons correspond to which category save through guessing. regardless, the demonslayer cannot choose those three options. demonslayer gets vanilla outsiders for favoured enemy, which is literal all outsiders but for demons. a class feature o' the nomad (ranger) is a horse animal companion. no animal companion for nomads, horse or otherwise. am continuing to have camp issues with companion inventory and spell book access, but such is no surprise. am a bit discouraged by how respec is still busted if you have an animal companion. as far as am able to tell, is more than a few aspects being bungled by animal companions. of course Gromnir has been playing animal companion focused builds, so... mythic second spirit and second mystery is still not capable o' selection for shaman nor oracle. loremaster is now on the prestige class list. cannot select even if you meet prereqs. etc. it does appear a few o' the geometry fails has been addressed. no specific patch notes for 6.2d, so am not certain what were fixed, but am s'posing the 6.2c link included should cover numerous fixes. the snow in the beta looks nice. makes us more (if only a tiny bit) convinced next ap will be reign of winter. HA! Good Fun!

martin short and steve martin are such good friends, am suspecting if pbs came to 'em and told 'em they were redoing the joy of painting, but wanted martin and short to host it together and said, "just do whatever you want," they woulda' jumped at the opportunity. only murders looks just a bit less contrived than our bob ross revival idea. martin and short wanted to do something. am not certain how picky were short and martin 'bout the vehicle. HA! Good Fun!

unfortunate, this does not surprise us at all. perhaps it is wrong, but am expecting more than a few people in the military is unwell, 'cause there is a whole lotta unwell people in the general public. have had multiple bosses over the years, individuals running multi-billion dollar businesses, or in charge o' facilities doing dangerous stuff, and am gonna admit we were initial shocked they were promoted to their positions given their obvious character flaws and dubious mental stability. so of course am no longer shocked when a soldier, sailor, marine, police officer or even POTUS (with access to nuke launch codes), not only gets job o' defending the public and/or america, but is allowed to continue their work for days, weeks, months or years. the guy in question didn't slip through the cracks in any ordinary sense-- his condition were diagnosed by the us navy. a diagnosis o' paranoid schizophrenia disqualifies a person from joining any branch o' the us military, even the us navy, o' which the marines is a part. thank goodness there is marines like shady and others who is able to take matters into their own hands when unwell people is put in positions dangerous for themselves and those 'round 'em. corporal bone spurs needed similar kinda oversight, but were pentagon brass who alleged took away the firing pin. HA! Good Fun!

you don't get to alter if you don't bother to read the link. "the alt-right and no-compromise gun folks aren't afraid of needles or masks. they is afraid of the government, but only the wrong government. the same folks angry at being forced to wear masks is perfect ok with the government stepping in and limiting the first amendment rights of big tech, or the voting rights o' predominant minority communities in pennsylvania or arizona. oh, and don't forget the muslim ban." HA! Good Fun!
-
is noteworthy the cdc never required mask wearing. is no cdc mechanism for requiring mask wearing. the cdc offered guidance, and nothing more. even under the unhinged socialist regime of comrade biden, there has never a national mask mandate, so cdc guidance change had no legal relevance. as you observe, states, counties and private entities has implemented mask mandates, and CA has not immediate changed its mandate. mentioned in the covid thread, am disappointed by the mask resistance, but not surprised. were utterly American and depressing predictable the pandemic would lead to more than a few people becoming enraged by perceived government overreach, even when were private entities demanding reasonable behavioral limits to slow the spread of a deadly disease. sweary guy: "it ain't the point of the mask." 'cause next thing you know, they are going to try and take away your guns. HA! Good Fun!

he was in the navy. he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, while in the navy. 'ccording to the vid, at some point he were off his meds in the us navy. leaves navy. not the royal navy of canada. not the japan maritime self defense force. heck, didn't even join the us air force. he were in the us navy. they figured out he were a paranoid schizophrenic and not taking meds in the us navy. joins the united states marines corps (department of navy) and participates long enough to makes lance corporal. ... gd thinks the funny part is lance corporal? HA! Good Fun!
-
... attaining lance corporal were the part o' that which you focused? you saw the portion before the conjunction, yes? you are unfazed by the participation necessary to get the trophy? HA! Good Fun!

education is ordinary the most common factor for conspiracy theory indulgence o' americans. obvious there is exceptions. not race or sex or intelligence, but education (less) and the belief you has been getting the fuzzy end o' the lollipop is the common factors. am recalling when hiv were a more common daily topic. is a few minority communities which to this day see high % o' people insist that aids were an engineered disease created by governments to kill perceived undesirables, and as wacky as that sounds, if you is a minority you probable got a relative who believes such with deep fervor. try and get a minority politician to disavow that conspiracy is incredible difficult. education and conspiracy are ordinarily linked, but the increased polarization o' our nation has made a whole lotta folks a bit more stoopid. don't know if it makes us feel better or worse to know the jeopardy crowd is equal susceptible to stoopid if it confirms their biases. HA! Good Fun!
-
wait a sec. while in the navy, the kid were diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and were medicated... at which point he joins the marines and eventual reaches a rank o' lance corporal. ... way too ez. HA! Good Fun!

The Supreme Court Ruling That Led To 70,000 Forced Sterilizations am gonna keep linking similar until people realize just how much the Constitution don't protect you, and for those individuals who seem to believe in the fantasy of ye goode olde days of American Liberties. too few understand what the Constitution says and does not say. buck v. bell is law. is only punitive sterilizations which were outlawed by skinner. buck is precedent today. buck is one reason why is nevertheless current Constitutional to force people to get vaccinations even if there is no government effort to make such laws or enforce 'em... other than the obvious school vaccinations and military vaccinations people conveniently ignore. whole lotta kids and military folks being told what they can do with their body. roe does not hinge on what old men may says 'bout how a woman chooses what to do with her body. is far too ez to be confusing campaign slogans with questions o' law. heck, roe specific notes the right o' the woman to make choices 'bout abortion is not unqualified. "protecting potential life" is one o' the specific state interests the roe Court noted could exceed an individual woman's right to privacy... 'cause what too many people forget is when you mention abortion, you are actual talking 'bout a privacy right which necessarily balances individual and state interests. griswold v. conneticut. privacy. honest, roe is a mess. however, roe is precedent, pivotal, and the Court ordinarily is reluctant to mess with similar precedent, and for good reason. when plessey were overturned, J Robert Jackson left his hospital bed so brown v. board would be unanimous. Jackson would die not long after brown. while am thinking it improbable we could ever personal support abortion, am uncomfortable telling others what they should decide. however, our personal pov is not relevant. talk 'bout roe and griswold is questions o' law. HA! Good Fun! ps so is clear, am not criticizing @Guard Dog on this. the old men and women on the Court ain't direct deciding what choices a woman may make regarding her body. the question is whether States may make such decisions and whether the Constitution forbids or possible allows the federal government to have any say-so on the matter.

all the more reason to recognize where the real threat is coming. is not gonna be jack boots and an authoritarian regime. is gonna be your neighbors willingly sacrificing their books and freedoms on the pyre. fahrenheit 451 is one o' the most misunderstood and poor referenced books o' the past 100 years. ps as for the threat to roe, J. Thomas has been telegraphing his willingness to overturn precedence for a couple years, and Alito has been doing similar if less overt. roe has clear been the unspoken target. how curious is it that rbg's obstinance regarding retirement may result in the death o' roe? 'course few recall that as late as last year, rbg were the only Justice on the Court who had ever been public critical o' roe before becoming a Justice. roe were never particular good law, but nobody had the courage to fix it and now 'cause rbg were too proud, it may be gutted. breyer needs to pay attention. HA! Good Fun!

fixed. am not certain if we would conclude is better than 10-15 years past. last decade or so has been curious. even ten years ago and we woulda' had americans near universal condemning antifa and the proud boys. now we got folks aligning with antifa or proud boys? the polarization of the last ten years has many americans questioning aspects o' first amendment freedoms, and am shocked by how quick such a change occurred w/o a domestic war or something similar to presage the change. am personal sensitive to the diminution o' first amendment freedoms, but our fear were perhaps too focused on the cataclysm we thought were a necessary precursor. assumed it would take some kinda massive social upheaval or singular shocking event to change the american paradigm-- a 9/11. instead, all it took were fox news, alt-right radio, a rescission and a President willing to embrace the politics of grievance. we would suggest @Guard Dog read fahrenheit 451. am thinking the important detail from the novel which is glossed over all the time is how the firemen in the book were the result o' a populist movement. weren't some kinda State or authoritarian action which led to the attempt to homogenize and sensitize information and ideas. the people got tired of the conflict and the divisiveness. people became increasing uncomfortable with unpleasant ideas, and so the people demanded a normalization. and keep in mind, bradbury were less than subtle 'bout the link 'tween a willingness to give up books and ideas with an increase in the availability o' entertainment such as tv, which he envisioned in 1953 would become wall-encompassing and interactive. a work o' fiction is fahrenheit 451, but am thinking too many nevertheless miss the message. that said, to be lettering yourself get your shorts in a twist over a guardian story is questionable in any event. would want way more info before we accepted the guardian or ny post version o' a story. University says sorry to janitor over KKK book 2008. as an aside, am thinking the main reason the school tried to fire the janitor is not 'cause o' the kkk stuff but 'cause his book were 'bout the efforts o' notre dame students fighting the kkk in indiana, and say anything positive 'bout notre dame is to this day punishable by tar and feathering at purdue. somewhere 'round 10-15 years past, things changed in the US, and situation has gotten worse instead o' better. gd may be overreacting to a singular dubious news story as is his habit, but am thinking people do need to wake up to the real possibility we could willingly give up our freedoms for a bit more civility and security. fahrenheit 451 were more prophetic than we personal ever imagined and am now convinced it won't take a war or similar to bring 'bout support for metaphorical firemen. HA! Good Fun!

told the gardeners to take the photinias down to gutter height. am at a point in life where am content with the management end o' things. had to keep the dogs in the house so they would not bother the gardeners. course the canines all went nuts each time they heard an unfamiliar noise. solution: showing the pups the smoked gouda we had. felt bad teasing 'em with the cheese, so they each received a tiny fragment. we all enjoyed cheese and not pruning photinias down to a reasonable 10'. HA! Good Fun!

got a few bugs which is making progress... difficult. nevertheless, am at level 7 with a colluding scoundrel/feyspeaker and am kinda playing around with a few builds w/o any genuine intent to go deeper towards drezen. however, what we did notice while doing far too many random map encounters and ambushes is the frequency of the cambion cleric in chapter 2. this generous but doomed soul carries a +3 light crossbow, +2 ring of protection, +2 natural armour amulet, a +2 wisdom boosting item. he wears +3 studded leather and also carries an afterthought masterwork scimitar. sure, use a mod and you may give yourself unlimited money, but if you do not have such a mod, a couple extra random map encounters will enrich you significant. you will also be awarded just shy o' 500xp for ridding the worldwound o' these disproportionately well equipped fellows. HA! Good Fun!

guess we should appreciate our minor tonsorial obstacles. sure, takes an extra minute or two to wash hair, and then combing out all the tangles is a pain in the arse. unless we wanna get the random stray hair while eating we gotta wear a hat while preparing and consuming food, which is weird and wrong, but whatever. our hair hasn't begun to noticeable gray or thin, but it could happen at some point. guess we should be thankful. *chuckle* our previous financial guy retired a bit over a year ago, before pandemic but after we had retired. our new finance guy is the person recommended by our previous guy. whatever. when we first met new guy in his office, he kept calling us "young man," which we thought were odd. sure, we were dressed kinda causal, but the guy on the other side o' the desk were probable in his mid to late forties. Gromnir were fifty. occurred to us that clay, (people in california are sometimes named "clay,") might be making a subtle joke 'bout us retiring relative young so we asked. clay were genuine shocked by our age. perhaps the fact we look like some kinda unkempt hippie (sans the birkenstocks) and need all-too-frequent pull strands o' our own hair outta the omelet we made is the sorta stuff o' which we should see the bright side, but we don't. as an aside, with the yankee situation and other similar events, is looking more and more like the vaccine is less efficacious at preventing infection than perhaps hoped. vaccine were tested for how it reduced chance o' becoming ill, and so far it looks like all the vaccines is dong a fantastic job o' that, even with the variants. were never definitive known exact how much protection the vaccine offered from the vaccinated nevertheless being able to catch and spread covid. positive: so far don't seem like those infected who has been vaccinated is producing enough viral load to be a serious concern for spreading covid-19. nevertheless, for the folks with compromised immune systems, am suspecting stay-at-home may be the status quo for awhile. am now gonna go sweep in the kitchen. the amount o' Gromnir hair we sweep up now equals or exceeds dog hair. this change is embarrassing. HA! Good Fun!

House Committee Approves 9/11-Style Commission with Subpoena Power to Further Investigate Jan. 6 — What to Know "Subpoenas require agreement by either the Chair and Vice Chair or a majority vote by the commissioners. The Commission can refer any failure to obey a subpoena to a U.S. federal district court." so, assuming the bill passes house, senate and is signed by the President... at some point, the question of needing a subpoena for kevin mccarthy (as well as numerous other US Congressman and state AGs) is gonna need be answered. is difficult to imagine negotiators have failed to considered this question already. stack the commission with gop members who is categorical opposed to personages such as Congressmen gosar and mccarthy being subpoenaed will severe hamper pursuit o' evidence. HA! Good Fun!

dr. fauci might need to have a sit down with korgano and masaka. the judge in rachel powell's case were more forgiving than she deserved, and admitted am not believing it is possible for the masaka avatar to spread a human virus, but is no reason to be a jerk 'bout mask wearing just 'cause you is a divinity... or any o' the many thousands o' middle-aged male republicans who drive large pickups, wear hats to cover their receding hairline, and have a star-spangled bandana perpetually tied around their neck as if to flaunt the fact they is only pretending to comply with mask mandates. HA! Good Fun! ps is entire possible the yankee players is all extreme unlucky. +90% efficacy is not 100% after all. multiple vaccinated folks becoming infected in spite o' vaccination is gonna happen. nevertheless, one hopes this ain't an india variant (or some other variant) issue.

Gaetz ally plans to plead guilty and cooperate with prosecutors greenberg is a terrible witness. understatement. 33 counts including sex traffik of a minor is not the guy who gets cooperation agreements on a whim. won't take a defense attorney much effort to convince any finder o' fact (jury or judge) greenberg will say anything to save his own skin. in an ordinary situation we would say prosecutors offering a deal to a guy such as greenberg means they has confirmed legitimacy o' info received, but am not sure. HA! Good Fun!

the ohio lottery is ridiculous, and likely a very good idea. dewine and the folks in ohio came up with a plan to address a problem, and they are not pretending the remaining antivaxxers is gonna be convinced by doctors or celebrities. a couple minute public service announcement from trump might make a difference, but short o' that, this is the best practical solution anybody has made to try and reach the intractable. God help us. HA! Good Fun!

more false equivalency. it was the f'ing US Capitol. many o' the rioters were purposeful attempting to interfere with the legislative confirmation o' the results o' the Presidential election and it were more a matter o' luck than anything else that more people were not killed, especial when one recognizes that dozens of law enforcement officers were injured, some grievously so. one Congressman gets killed or paralyzed or blinded? the mob was within a couple dozen yards o' a few legislators. some ass backwards alt-right radio junkie from kentucky manages to use a stun gun on nancy pelosi and she dies. not a complete shocking result considering the chaos which were taking place. unlike seattle, we weren't talking 'bout an empty court house after hours or somesuch. US freaking Capitol. how is that difference not sinking in even now? you think the patriot act were good for democracy? what do you think is the response if nancy pelosi or mike pence died? when we saw the towers go down on 9/11, am ashamed to admit our first thought were as a Con Law guy as 'posed to a human being. we felt sympathy for those dying, but we were terrified what would be the US response to the attacks, and the freedoms which would die along with the thousands o' innocents. so, while America is losing its collective mind on january 7th after at least one Congressman dies, trump who were already having folks such as general flynn telling him to impose martial law over election results... write the rest o' the narrative from this point and be certain o' a happy, peaceful and democratic resolution. am not sure what some o' you folks witnessed on january 6, but if you saw a relative nothing burger which had zero chance o' affecting american democracy, then your reading o' history is perhaps not as deep as you believe. a mob, by its very nature is unpredictable, and this mob were inside the Capitol while trump were continuing to tell 'em what a failure were pence and how unfair it were the election were stolen. more than a few o' those happy not insurrectionists were armed. clearly weren't a matter o' having a good plan and airtight security which prevented the situation from being worse. situation coulda' gone much different and much worse and results woulda' made the patriot act response look positively pedestrian by comparison. january 6 were way worse than most americans is willing to admit or realize. given what happened on january 6, one dead Congressman woulda' shocked few. edit: added the sen. murray video today would be much different if the very plausible had occurred. oh, and pence, in spite o' refusing to interfere with the ceremonial electoral college ballot confirmation, has been silent regarding the january 6 attack. the post january 6 cowardice o' pence and other republicans only concerned 'bout 2022 and 2024 makes us far less confident that the choice to confirm the election results on january 6 was a sure thing. HA! Good Fun!
