There is indeed an option to disable auto-attack. The discription notes that party members should start attacking when idle, however I haven't seen that happen yet - Or it's inconsistent enough that I haven't noticed it. They will continue to attack targets if you have given them an attack order i.e. going from one enemy to the next. But they won't attack if they have gone idle and the enemy is ignoring them.

So just to check, you'd be cool with backer messages that included racial slurs as well? eta: wait, you probably meant the backer NPCs, not the memorial message, didn't you? Oh just stop it with these silly falacies. You cannot win an argument by trying to misrepresent someone else's position. If a backer message featured ingame lore friendly racism, then yes that would also be ok. More about removing a joke that targets an oppressed group and was painful to some of its members to encounter. Can you prove that said joke was made to target anyone in particular? Unless you can then I would be more careful when making such accusations. You, and some others, have apparently convinced themselves that the joke is somehow an example of great social injustice. It's not. It's a single joke in a video game. If they remove that poor joke then they might as well remove all of the other poorly worded backer messages or all other instances in the game that may offend some people. Like the hanging tree, incest etc. If you want the joke removed then you better be very precise in your definition as to what would warrant a removal from the game.

As others have already posted: Most people don't ever venture onto forums. Out of those even fewer are vocal. You're more likely to see negative/critical posts than positive ones simply because most people don't see any reason to share positive feedback unless prompted to. It's generally more "important" to bring up issues than sing the praise of something. Do remember that critiscm =/= negativity. Raising a point doesn't mean you don't like the game.

Both exist to a great extent in the world as well. There's a difference between personal insensitivity and institutional insensitivity. The former should be ignored. The latter should be met with public outrage. I largely concur (challenge or ignore depending on the situation with the first) but you seem to be avoiding the question, could you answer it please? Also note that the author of the limerick is happy to have it changed, so now it's in Obsidian's hands. Your question is an obvious logical fallacy. Switching it out wouldn't make sense because the joke wouldn't make sense if said change was made. Stop trying to bait other posters just to win an argument. Had someone wanted to put in a racist joke about a black person then I would also be fine with that being in the game. I would find it silly and bad, but I wouldn't censor it. Of course another thing about your example is that it would probably have made even less sense given the setting and the lack of known racism against certain races/species in the game. Had a racist joke made sense lorewise then by all means let it stay.
