  1. Where did you read about the physics chip? All I could see was that same crap about the power of the 7900GTX and how they'd be using that for physics calculations. I couldn't find anything about any actual new hardware being added? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Psst, MKreku .
  2. Just about to play the demo (I can't seem to find it for sale, though ) ...
  3. Or the player ... "
  4. Wow, that looks pretty good.
  5. But you're quite happy for someone else to die instead. Colonel Jessep: Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, [Lonewolf16]? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for [strategic miscalculations and collateral damage], and you curse the marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That [the collateral damage e.g. Hiroshima], while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
  6. Film it? And show it how? This was 1945: no satellite, no tv, and even in Wesern countries news was delivered weekly, via cinema ... oh, I know they could use their broadband! Your grip on geopolitics and historical perpective is very tenuous. Answer me this: what good would a delay do? It's not like the Japanese Imperial government held a referendum! It was still the decision of one man (Emperor Hirohito), possibly after convincing his war cabinet (<10 men), to surrender. That takes three minutes, not three days. Wait for the farmers to attempt a coup? Because that would result in less civilian casualties? 'Either quit or carry on fighting': that is a very big decision to make and it's not one man's decision either. People held meetings about this stuff. People who didn't really care that much for inncoent lives. Are the Japanese at that point any threat to the US? No. They have no oil to run their tanks and ships and all their trained soldiers are killed already. The only incentives for US to drop the bomb are: 1) show strength to the Russians who has become a threat and 2) avoid a land invasion of Japan, which they had no plan to start in three days after Hiroshima. The US had all the time in the world to wait for an response. Instead, they decided to drop another atomic bomb on another city heavily populated with civilians after merely three days. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stop being an apologist for the militaristic Japanese fascists. Iwo Jima You seem to be very keen to give value to the civilians of Japan ... what about the Allied conscripts who were trying to end the war, that was started by the Axis, as quickly as possible for both sides? Their lives are forfeit because they have a gun?
  7. Um, no, that's not the point I was making. Logic dictates that it a new feature is taken up as a standard, then more publishers will encourage developers to add physics calculations to their games. There might be support for PhysX programming on an nVidia card, but that will never be of much use, because the demand of next gen graphics engines will far outstrip the capacity available.
  8. There are CISCO certifed courses (though network administration is nothing to do with games).
  9. nVidia have already announced that any spare power (ha ha! that's a joke) on their video cards will be able to be utilized for PhysX.
  10. Adblock may be preventing it.
  11. Hmm. I still think most people don't know what they want ... and in this case the AI delivered a bunch of NPCs having silly conversations about a few topics. Which is exactly what people do. Really. Go and evesdrop at a bus station, or hang around in a chat room ... "
  12. And now, the end is near, I have done the under-coating ...
  13. Well, I've pre-ordered Space Rangers 2 (complete with the original Space Rangers on the DVD: is this any good?). Also I'll probably pick up Freelancer. And, I've got Episode 1 preloaded and ready to play ... just downloading the demo to Nexus now ...
  14. If you sign a peace treaty have you won? From my point of view Finland didn
  15. I was just demonstrating the difference between: and Otherwise the definition of insanity would include literally everyone, and therefore be completely useless (as a classificatoin or distinction). Actual impairment of the mental faculties
  16. I thought you meant this one. I suffered through that, which seems to have all the same qualities of the sequel, except (and this is the show-stopper) it ALSO has Jean-Claude Van Damme trying to act tough. Does the sequel plot use the same brother-died-and-he's-getting-revenge hook for the protagonist, like every Van Damn film? Just watched Brubaker. Redford is brilliant, as always.
  17. No. Neurosis ≠ psychosis.
  18. The first thing a doctor asks you (when you hear voices) is who's voice ?
  19. Does it have strategy elements, or is it all Warcraft 3 ?
  20. I concur; the fact that Levine was obsessed enough to re-write a screenplay bodes well for the writing of the game. This game just became a pre-order.
  21. Ooo, I heard of Nexus, but I was scared off space RTS games by X2 ...
