  1. I hope so too. I killed her! Agreed Am I the only one that liked the underwater mission? I thought it was very atmospheric. Movement speed was the main problem. I also liked the Leviathan space walk scene. Sounds good. I hate traversing large areas only to discover they don't actually lead anywhere, or "nothing interesting in that direction" message. That will happen if the info we have so far is accurate.
  2. I'd really like to see Coruscant but I don't think current graphics technology (or the odyssey engine) is up to the task. I get the feeling it would look no better than Taris. Obsidian should 'invent' a few planets for Kotor2 to avoid comparisons. Both Manaan and Taris were original I think.
  3. I don't mind picking up lightsabers and being able to use them, but I didn't like how you could use those of your Jedi companions. These weapons should be non-removable. No Jedi would let you take their saber, just not going to happen. NPCs seem more real if they have equipment that they refuse to part with, like Dak'kon's zerth blade.
  4. I imagine you already have your saber by the time you face Jedi, and NPCs could refuse to part with theirs. I'd expect that anyway. A Jedi isn't going to hand over their lightsaber to someone they've just met, or to anyone else. The first area/planet might be like Taris. You're in 'exile' and need to repair the ebon hawk first. So it could be a while before Jedi and lightsabers become a problem.
  5. Wouldn't that be just dandy, we visit the same 5 planets again! I can't wait! Some optimism, please.
  6. That's what I meant when I said skill level determines the amount. I worded it badly though which made it sound like skill level = number of spikes, not a reduction. Yes, that was a problem with the original but will surely be addressed in the sequel. Your companion skills need to be taken into account more. Hell, I only use a couple of skills and never had a problem with anything. It would be nice to ask your team for help and not for some scripted event like the Sith base or vulkar forcefield on Taris.
  7. A "sub level" would be like Hrakert Rift on Manaan. You even need a sub for that one! hahaha!
  8. hmm, some conflicting info there. No way to tell which is accurate. So what happens if 2 characters are unconsious and Rand the only one left? Does he keep fighting? That makes no sense. Your party would be invincible. Unless, there's a new "knock out" feat in Kotor2 and Rand is immune!
  9. Admiral Ackbar is Mon Calamari. He wouldn't appreciate being called a squid.
  10. That's how computer spikes work in Kotor. Your skill level determines the amount. Security spikes provide a bonus instead. I don't use either to any great extent though. I would rate computer use slightly higher than security if I had to choose.
  11. A Jedi without a lightsaber is like a car without wheels. I wouldn't take too much comfort from that, a "while" could mean one hour into the game! I remember Obi Wan lecturing a certain young Jedi - "this weapon is your life!" So what is a Jedi doing without a lightsaber in the first place? It's a design decision but I'm sure the early game could be adjusted to make saber abuse impossible. No matter, all good things come to those who wait.
  12. Sith Lords should certainly have a darker tone, in both content and graphics. I'm not sure how far they'll push that though. I'd like the dialog especially to be serious and mature. Comic relief used sparingly is fine but not at the expense of realism. I cringed at the DS dialog you were given. While funny it was totally out of character - "your son is a kath hound chew toy!". My sith is not going to say that. Another problem is the locations. With a few notable exceptions all the planets are bright and cheerful. Manaan, Tatooine, unknown world, etc.. create more dazzle than dread. We need some dark and sinister locations in Kotor2.
  13. Well, I was joking... kinda, but I'd prefer them to the wookies or the fish faces on Manaan!
  14. btw, since this game is about Sith Lords, where do these guys hang out 4000 years before the empire? Might give us a clue to the planets.
  15. 5 planets. Alderaan - destroyed by the death star! Bespin - cloud city (if it exists) Rodia - Greedo Shoots First! Hoth - Devoid of life but we can make an exception... Coruscant - at night! Should be different to Taris.
  16. I agree with that. Some items in Kotor increased your stats way beyond what should be possible -- and items which stack to provide +9 strength or wisdom, for example, made your initial stats a joke. You have so much powerful gear at your disposal you're spoiled for choice and can equip almost anything to suit any situation. You should not be able to 'buy' stats.
  17. I liked the twist but Bioware didn't do justice to what came after. You're the former dark lord here, not some lowly sith, but for another 2 whole planets you can't act upon that in any way. Only at the temple can you choose your path, and even that is at Bastila's urging.
  18. Obsidian should steer clear of any 'revelation' in Kotor2, if it involves the PC. What worked once will not work a second time. Another twist would be more groan-inducing than dramatic.
  19. You mean that guy in the Manaan mercenary enclave? Iridorian? I'm not sure. One Jedi Council member in the SW prequels is listed as "Iridonian Zabrak" - Zabrak also being Darth Maul's race, so it's possible he looks somewhat similar to Maul. Iridorian, however, might not be the same (note the spelling). Eeth Koth - an Iridonian Zabrak.
  20. 'Parry' might be useful in Kotor2 - that's a defensive feat with counter-attacks after a successful block... it would make a change from flurry and crit strike.
  21. Excellent work Craftsman! And a 'sticky' to boot...
  22. You make some good points there evil.E I don't think you should be able to buy the best items, you should earn them. Some might argue that those credits are earned but money was never really a problem in Kotor. Selling the stuff found in lockers, or winning the swoop races, or by looting gave more than enough to buy whatever you wanted. Exactly. It was much more satisfying to receive new equipment that way. An interesting idea. For the most powerful items you'd need to play the hardest difficulty setting. That makes sense.
  23. The Silmarillion? What's that? I bet most people, even LotR fans, have never even heard of it. A strange book that's heavy going for some. Sauron is mostly the same - power hungry, with hatred and spite oozing from every pore. The chapter involving the tree is a perfect example of Sauron's ability to deceive and corrupt. His "fair" appearance and "wise" words impossible to resist.
