  1. Here. Many of them are related to FF series, but some are applicable to all RPGs. Examples:
  2. ROFL. "I play PC games. Son of Jor-El... Kneel before Zod!". If you think that playing computer games makes you one of special "elite" species, I pity you. Ahem... Any mods you've done so far? Old games become part of the history, both PC and console. Do you even remember first old great Atari games? Tetris? I am now remaking a DOS game Supertetris for Windows. The implementation is gone but the concept is alive. There are things like online Java applet based tetris arenas now. Some old things get forgotten, then recycled and rereleased.
  3. I am a PC gamer, but I'm offended by this statement. If some people or their parents cannot afford upgrading PC every once in a while that doesn't make them worse than you. I'd agree that's TROLLING. Even worse, it's ELITISM. Another wrong point: "PC was ruling since the begininng." Absolutely NOT. Games _industry_ started with TV-set games, arcade machines and CONSOLES, not PC. It came to the market much later. What is really happening is that console and PC are overlapping but still different markets and one cannot substitute the other.
  4. I release a swarm of mutated badgers from a tube of toothpaste...
  5. The space is black, you don't get reflection from empty space. Powdered carbon reflects only 2% of light, therefore it is close to absolute black (answers.com).
  6. Provocation: And what if I say it IS.
  7. So did I. :D
  8. OK. USELESS INFO! 1. Repellents do not drive mosquitos away, they hide us. 2. More people per year are killed by donkeys than die in airplane crashes. 3. America Airlines saved $40000 by removing one olive from the meal for 1-class passengers. 4. It is anatomically impossible to bite your own elbow. 5. Venus is the only planet in Solar System that rotates counter-clockwise. 6. A pearl can be dissolved in vinegar. 7. Richard Millhouse Nixon is the first US president to have all letters of the word 'criminal' in his name. William Jefferson Clinton is the second. 8. 100 people per year die by choking with a pen. 9. Women wink 2 times more often than men do. 10. It is possible to make cow go up the stairs, but impossible to make it go downstairs. 11. Snails can sleep up to 3 years. 12. A lighter was invented before matches. 13. Almost every person who read this tried to bite his/her own elbow.
  9. The number poll wasn't any better.
  10. True. So the ultimate number is 0. End of discussion... :D
  11. And... where is 0? P. S. Can't help to mention Euler's formula here: All the favorite numbers are harmonically merged in one formula. Amazing, isn't it?
  12. Where is 13? Where is e? Where is pi? WHERE IS -1?!
  13. PS or XBOX? I choose PC, but I guess that leaves me out of voice. P. S. I liked FF series very much.
  14. I'd stick just with a virgin and alcohol. :D
  15. Are you scared of your publisher?
  16. Oh yeah, let's start "I actually don't fear anyone" thread. Online anyone can say ANYTHING. Anonymity is power. You will get poor statistics. Edit: "Answer 7 & 8" actually includes (7) "Only if it means throwing away massive potential." and... ( "Both answers 7 & 8" ?
  17. It is not officially free, however it has an unofficial status of abandonware. Anyway thanks for the link.
  18. I played this game about 7 years ago and it rocked! I hope this time the bug that stopped me from finishing it is fixed.
  19. True.
  20. Sad news.
  21. Thanks for the useful feedback! Things are better than I thought. It was a little grim after finding out that, for instance, Adobe Reader 7.0 is protected by 55(Doh!) patents.
  22. Some questions, if some of the devs are still here or if there is life left in this particular forum... Many people might know about the software patents and lawsuits related to them, but as far as I can see, most of the patents are related to "non-gaming" things (information systems, network security, e-commerce, etc). Now the questions: How relevant are software patents to game industry? Does an average game developer have legal workers researching this particular area to avoid potential patents infringement? Were there any relevant suitcases against game developing companies?
