  1. Bitter almonds are potentially deadly. These almonds contain a molecule called amygdalin (also known as vitamin B17 or laetrile) and an enzyme known as emulsine, that when coming in contact with each other due to chewing the almond, break the amygdaline down into D-glucose, benzaldehyde and hydrogen cyanide. The benzaldehyde provides the extremely bitter taste that acts as a warning. The hydrogen cyanide is a very potent poison. There you have it. An extremely easy and cheap yet vile way of ending all of your problems.
  2. LOL @ ^ Really, it's hilarious to see people heartily defend arguments that basically go like "my geekfest is more relevant than your geekfest".
  3. Sorry Nur, that's just how things are. And I didn't really write anything in that last post. I just posted some quotes. It's not my fault if the majority thinks that TotJ sucks donkey balls. )
  4. Sid Meier's Pirates! LEGO® Star Wars Replaying Blade Runner  (w00t)
  5. I believe it's too large. 125x600 is the max size allowed. "
  6. I don't think mankind is prepared to see flying golden pirate ships on TV.
  7. The nazi sig is the best one, hands down. I doubt anyone would be allowed to use it here, though.
  8. Yep. One of the big points of Redemption is that it doesn't try to be an epic story. It's just about a man. No villains, no wars, no heroes. Good stuff.
  9. Suckage, except for Redemption. That one's actually pretty good.
  10. True, if only literally. "Proof, please?"
  11. There is no such thing. And enough with the bad "burning" jokes already. This thread is becoming the true definition of corny.
  12. Well, Nur. In case you haven't noticed, SW itself is at least as cheesy as KotOR. That's why KotOR is a good SW game.
  13. I thought sex with other species was illegal.
  14. Burning Xbox games isn't necessarily the same as pirating them. He might want to make a backup in order to preserve the original. That, while legitimate, isn't something very highly regarded by game developers. You aren't going to get a lot of answers here.
  15. Yep. I knew of the clan, but I don't think I ever played against them. I had horrible pings on their servers. And ping was pretty much the only thing that mattered to me when choosing server...
  16. That is chemically correct. However, carbonic acid is a very weak acid, which means that the chemical balance you posted would be very tipped towards the left member. I honestly don't know what is the tolerance of oceanic life with regards to changes in the pH of the water (I suspect it's quite low), but I think that given the size of the oceans, you would really need to dissolve a lot of CO2 in order to significantly change its acidity. In addition, I think I heard that the oceans have their own mechanisms to control acidity changes. I am by no means an expert, and all of that is based on my rather limited knowledge of chemistry. That, added to the fact that I lack any figures to back it up, makes me wonder why am I writing this reply at all...
  17. Actually, it's a cyclical process that has been going on for millions of years. Ice ages and warm periods in alternation, in a perfectly natural fashion. It's not the first time I hear this. Hidden agenda? Preposterous! Everyone knows I have no secret plans for world domination. That's right. None at all.
