  1. That makes sense Thanks for the advice, I've started my dual wielding melee cipher and so far it's a lot of fun. I'd love to see if you could pull of the game solo with that!
  2. Awesome ! Thanks that's exactly the advice I was looking for I didn't think of using Tactical Meld that way ( nor following with Borrowed Instincts which I tend to overlook ) I'll give this a shot thanks And yeah full party or not I'm not looking to cheese my way into constant CC for the dragon, I also had the same issue with my tanks I thought that the two of them were literally invincible until I fought the dragon...
  3. Hey guys I finished PotD twice now ( with a full party of 6 ) and I'm going to attempt a 4 man party now. I will be playing once again as a cipher because I love them so much! This time I was actually thinking of giving a shot at a melee cipher but not really sure how that's going to go.. So here's where I'd like some of your wisdom : Both times I've played for me the toughest fights to beat were the adra dragon and raedric undead version. In both these fights I was a bit disappointed with my cipher ( which wasn't being as awesome as usual ) since it was very hard to land my CCs ( mental binding, puppet master, ring leader, amplified wave, mind plague, etc... ) because of the enemy high defenses. I managed to make it work out by using other characters ( for example scale breaker + wizard + rogue can reduce the AD defense by a lot then my cipher can come in, but even then when those debuffs run out my cipher has a hard time being useful ) but since I was trying to reduce my party size I was wondering what power my cipher has that I am overlooking that could be used for these fights as a good first move(s) to debuff the enemy defense before hitting them with CC Thanks in advance!
  4. I wholeheartedly agree with the Ravenwing mace it's damage output toward the end game is fantastic. Killer weapon!
  5. I wonder if it's still possible to defeat the AD in PotD solo with the current patch. That would be an extraordinary accomplishment!
  6. Great build! I just tried to play a 4 man team on a PotD run myself ( rogue, cipher, fighter and chanter ). The lower levels felt way to grindy and I switched back to a 6 man team ( added a wizard and paladin ). Honestly I was surprised by how much harder it is to make it with a party of 4. I'll give your build a shot ) Is the priest really necessary here ? If you swapped him with a cipher for some more CC/damage maybe the fights would be over before needing to heal the tanks ?
  7. I'm not an expert ( I finished PotD with a party of 6 non trial of iron ). I don't know why the queued actions didn't work out but I'd tend to think it's because of the range ( the druid went out of range which messed things up ). As for why you couldn't revive your characters it's because they didn't have any health left. You can revive them if they run out of endurance but not health ( AFAIK ). Also in general I think I would have used suppress affliction rather than the prayer you used ( 12s vs 10s ). I would probably have used a bit more CCs ( slicken / mental binding ) than you did. Great game anyway! Better luck next time )
  8. Great run! Old Vailia gives +1 INT on top of that, I like the symmetry. Also, there is actually a gameplay reason for resolve 18. Some quests require high resolve for quick completion, most notably a certain "leader poisoning" quest that requires resolve 20, and I can reach that by sleeping in the Twin Elms Inn. (congrats on the run it's impressive! ) And why did you go with INT over PER ?
