I'm really enjoying the storyline campaign. I just finished the second episode. They are quick, better than a tutorial, and interesting.

I guess the stereotype doesn't just apply to American sailors...

MMO's aren't really crowded. There are overpopulated areas, just like in real life, but most of the time you are lucky if there more than a few other people on a zone with you. It will feel exactly like a wasteland, particularly if they make it a sizable game world. And honestly I've always thought the vaults in these games were underpopulated. It's not realistic to build something as massive as a vault for two dozen people. I just chalked it up to a design decision not to waste resources populating the vault with hundreds of filler NPC's.

Almost called Richard Garriot perfectly, he came in at 11. I'm glad Meier got put in ahead of Will Wright. Based on sales, I expected them to pick Wright, but it's good that they recognized Meier's ability to tackle different genres and still create a compelling game.

Wals, did she call you during those four days? Because if you weren't returning her calls, I can see where she would get mad, but if she's just mad because you aren't pursuing her then good riddance.

There is a ton to learn in this game. I had my first naval battle. It seemed to be going well, but two of my ships sank rather quickly even though they were no longer under fire. I guess they had more damage than I realized, I'll have to figure out how to watch for that. I'm playing Britain as well, I'm sending a pretty sizable group over the the America's to tame the wilds of Canada, and I'm sending another army over to help with the vanquishing of the Mughal's.

Frankly I'm surprised Interplay has the resources to attempt this, but I wish them the best. There are a lot of successful MMO's on the market that people seems to forget about. Lord of the Rings Online, Everquest 2, City of Heroes, Eve Online...the list is fairly impressive.

While I'm sure someone will take a chance on him, I'm not sure how relevant he is anymore as a top receiver. He's not much of a team player. The Raiders will probably sign him.

It was a pretty quiet deadline day. I know that more players moved than over the last couple years, but it doesn't seem like there were many high profile trades.

Bubba Hot-Tep was good, solid acting by both Campbell and the JFK guy. He's great on Burn Notice. I don't expect him to ever reach Army of Darkness status again, but My Name is Bruce looked like it might be a good spoof, instead it just turned out silly.

Babylon AD - Meh. It was enjoyable as a sci-fi road trip movie. I have always liked Vin Deisel. Maybe I missed something, but nothing in the plot made a whole lotta sense. The ending was just a head scratcher. What was the real point of the movie? The visuals were decent. It just seemed like it really wanted to be Blade Runner, but didn't have the plot or the writing to pull it off. My Name is Bruce - I'm a big Bruce Campbell fan, I loved his books and all, but this was a bad movie. It was poking fun, I get it, but it was just too much bad physical comedy, bad acting, and bad effects. He needs to lay off the spoofs.

You need to load up Redneck Rampage, the absolute best of the old school FPS games!

I'm about 81% done with the download. I wasn't going to get it, but I'm home sick today and I figured I deserved something fun after battling mucus all week.

It will be interesting to see who cracks the top ten. My money is on Miyamoto taking the top spot, with Will Wright close behind. I expect Sid Meier to get at least top 5. Richard Garriot will also probably settle in around 9 or 10.

Is the list finished yet? It's actually blocked at work for me.

I've been really enjoying Out of the Park Baseball '08. The learning curve was a bit steep, but I've got a good team together now and we went 2-1 on our first road trip of the season.

I just wanted to put in my obligatory Gametap advertisement in by saying STALKER is available on that service as well. And it sounds like this is an early version, which would be cool to check out, but if you want the finished stable game, try Gametap.

Yep, it's not great, but we try to keep it in moderation. We are pretty active parents, but it's a 24/7 job, and a little TV time every day helps us stay sane. It's actually pretty incredible how much programming there is for toddlers. If it's so harmful, you'd think they'd have a problem releasing this stuff. Our pediatrician actually told us to get a few videos on potty training to help with that, so who knows? As for her being pretty young, I'm really thinking more of what she can possibly play in the next year or two. It's not like we are plopping her down alone to try and figure the games out, we are sitting with her, and usually playing. She can help me drive the Mariokart. I don't know why you'd want a controller for it, the steering wheel is fantastic and makes the game a bit more challenging. I guess if I was trying to beat the AI, I would want more precision. We have the Wiifit and she does do exercises and step aerobics with my wife. That's a pretty fantastic piece of hardware. The balance board is amazing, although it doesn't pick up her weight yet. Still, she can stand beside us and do the stuff.

I haven't seen a Wii thread in a long while, so I figured I'd start a new one. I just picked up MarioKart last night as well as two steering wheels. This game is a blast, it is basically the same game I played years back on the N64, but with the wiimote setup it is an entirely new fun experience. I'm really struggling to find games for my family though. I'm not looking that standard games I can get on my PC or 360, I want fun, simple games that are playable by my whole family. My daughter is almost two and if I can find a game for her that is playable by just shaking the remote, I'll be very happy. No button pushing, just shaking it. Some of the Wiisport games work for her, but I'd like more. I know everyone complains about the state of video game reviewers, but it's really bad for the Wii. I need a reviewer who actually takes into account that maybe I don't want a complex game, I want something super simple. Anyone see any good review sites for that?
