I think Code Monkey needs to be a Merit/Flaw, specifically UBB Code. Skillful use of Code can make you rpost look professional and convince others to take you seriously even though you know nothing of the matter (I know from experience, though the users generally don't fall for that here), can be used for humor, can make you able to make your posts nigh unreadable and near indecipherable, massive world eating sigs, and even branches off into the Quout Tree sub-skill, which can be used for Spam and Tiptoeing+. It would enhance several skills, but make you generally more loathed on the board because you haven't developed your people skills as much, and many find your flamboyant and non-simplistic code usage annoying. For example, if I understand your setup correctly, my sheet would look something like this: MENTAL/SOCIAL -------------------- Intelligence Chutzpah SKILLS -------------------- Flaming: 13 Spam: 1 Tip-Toeing: 13 BACKGROUNDS -------------------- Respect: 1337! Dupe Accounts; 133 Moderation Status: -133 MERITS/FLAWS -------------------- Code Monkey This is assuming that you get five points in each category to start with, seemed to be enough, though if there's more I would have distributed them somewhat differently, but still in mostly the same categories. Instead of using dots like in WoD Character sheets, I figured 1337! would be more appropriate, with each sequential character representing another level, and 1337! being a maxxed out attribute.

I'd be scared if I were Feargie. -

BUT I SAID IT WOULD BE GOOD! And where did I say it was released Karzack? ...I thought you were banned. -

You know guys, you really don't want to make my preempt you all by digging up my thread about the preview for Dungeon Siege 2 in an issue of CGW before the demo was even realeased... Y'know what, the temptation, and protocols of board tradition are too frikkin' great. OH SNAP! Old'd -
I will. And I'll offer my help for testing, or even writing stories if you like. Creative Writing was always one of my strong suits, unfortunately I lack the 1337 5k1llz0rz to do anything code or modelling related. If you needed it I could probably find a microphone to do voiceovers, but that's about it.

Oh-HO! I would be down with that...I probably couldn't do much more than design though. Maybe some testing. If you do decide to resurrect it, I'd try and get your hands on whatever that Swedish team is using. It looked purdy, yet still like Fallout. Maybe make it as a Dungeon Siege mod if that's feasible...I know it can be modded, and the Engine was certainly nice...I just do not know to what extent it can be modded.

As in KotOR 2? I don't even own that game, I was waiting for a price drop, then when it was started I decided to wait for the completion/cancellation of the Restoration Mod. Also, why do you still have the Fanout sig, I agree it's need and all, but it's dead.

No...where the hell does he post? I demand a double in points though for my additional doppel though.

A-buh-wha? I have not one but two duplicate accounts on this Forum... But I don't see any of them here.

<Wonders aloud if she is indeed the Darkside he knew, loved, and was verbally abused by at the Bioware forums, if so, he offers his greetings>

I dunno man, I'd like to put some of our Nor-Cal beef up against your Nebraskan beef. This is indeed a matter of pride you see, as I did my time working on a ranch, and did in fact raise a Supreme Champion Steer, who then proceeded to sell for $15k.

YES!

Have you heard of the best fruits of them all Ender? The Pluots! I don't know if they are available in Omaha, but in California, was with practically any other fruit between the Heartland and Mexico, they are plentiful and nummy. Also, they are quite pretty.
-
Now there's a heck of a plot twist for you. Wait for it... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Could he be his* father even? Unless Darkside is a person with a vagina, in which case she can slap me around not only because I probably deserve it, but because it also turns me on.

I think the thing that sucks the most about playing online is scheduling, especially if you're in a large group. Because not only do you have to account for job schedules, family, etc. But because you're often playing with people from around the globe, there's the day/night difference too. For instance, the Friday night gig we got going isn't the most convenient for several players especially not myself, but that's only if I end up finding a job that conflicts with that and my church activities. But even though Sunday would hypothetically work for most in the group, it doesn't work for our (trio?) of Scandinavians because they'd be blurry eyed for work the next morning.

I've been enjoying the WoD game a lot... ...although I haven't ever done a real tabletop PnP game.

I won't be available next session. I'm gonna be in the mountains backpacking with my Church. I'm sorry guys, the ladies needed me.

That was happening to me too, but I figured it was just my at times wonky setup (overclocked). I found that if you cancel character creation and go back to menu when the music winds down, it doesn't do that.
-
Oh! I misunderstood your post, sorry. I thought you meant you read information about all this in the game files, not that you could actually restore it. Cool! Why on earth did they cut it then, if it was already complete? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's kind of wonky. It works fine if you don't go out of your way to abuse it, but if you pick one of the ones where the attribute starts at zero, you get an invisible filled in dot. You can unfill it, and if you do, the attribute disappears off the character sheet, though you can place it elsewhere in the same category. Also, if you go to the Base sheet, select and history, then go to the Character sheet and spend the points, then switch back to the Base sheet and select a different history, then go back to the Character sheet, all the points are still spent, and you have the same amount of points to spend again. Like I said, you can max your stats out really easy this way right out of the gate, or screw up your character sheet by getting rid of one of your disciplines or vital stats like perception. Just be careful and it shouldn't be a problem.
-
Um...if by 'planning something like this but cut it.' you mean 'left it on the disc and even more easily accessible than Hot Coffee in GTA' then yes, they did indeed plan it and cut it. You just type in the cheat I typed in the code box up there into the console on startup, while you're at the main menu before making a character. Then when you go to make you're character there's a third drop down menu. It's all still there.

I started a new Bloodlines game recently, in part because the Vampire PnP game Ender's running made me feel nostalgic for Jack, and Nines, and the rest of the Kindred in that game, in part because it's a damn fine game and I hadn't even come close to playing out all the different scenarios and variables in it. Deciding to see if there was anything in the game I'd missed before that I'd wanna look at in this run through, I went to Game FAQs. I didn't find anything in the normal game content I'd missed before, but I did find the Character History CVAR, which makes the character creation process a lot more deep, and is just a fun thing. I don't know why it was cut...probably for time considering just in the first couple of minutes of playing around with it I noticed that if you abused it by going back and forth between your Base Sheet and you Attributes sheet, switching History types as you went, you could max out all your stats from out the door. If you don't abuse it though, this is a really neat feature. For each Vampire Clan, there are 8-10 diffent 'Histories'. Some of them overlap, but each clan has at least a few that belong to them and only them. There's also specific Histories for Male and Female characters, on a clan by clan basis. There are quite a few histories in it, I'd probably have to play through the game a couple hundred times to try out every single one with every single Clan/Sex. The Histories act very similarly on your character as the Flaws/Merits system in the PnP game. For instance, the History I'm using right now on my Female Nossie, 'Cleopatra', makes her able to use Obfuscate for longer periods of time but Animalism costs more Experience points per level. There's a similar one for the Male Nossies called 'Bogeyman' that does the same thing to Obfuscate, but instead you can never max out his Potence (It caps at level 4, and you start with none. Other ones I remember off the top of my head are Glass Eye (You in fact did shoot your eye out as a child, you start off with no perception it caps at 4 though you get a bonus to your Intimidation because of your unnerving gaze), Perv (Male history. You love women...too much. You also don't treat them too well. Your Subterfuge will never go above one, but you get a bonus when drinking blood from the opposite sex. ), **** (Same bonus as for Perv but reveresed, only the handicap is it's harder to learn skills/knowledges/abilities because in life you made your way be sleeping around. ), and there's also Histories like True Brujah, which change the priority of your point spending during Character Creation. In the case of True Brujah, rather than Physical being the most important attribute, it goes Mental, Physical, Social. I must've spent half an hour just going through all the histories and reading them because they were written in such a fun way. Most amusing History is probably Ninja! it is a Malkavian History, for both males and females. You get bonuses for Melee weapons, but you can't use Firearms because that is not of the Ninja. Anyhow, to get all these and more, just enable your console and type vchar_edit_histories "1" into the console, then close the console, and start a new game. Histories will be underneath the Clan and Sex drop down menus in it's own drop down menu on th Base page. Have fun.

If you want, we can cross that bridge when we come to it. Just keep in mind, I'm not likely to find a job that will let me attend Church and related activities, and keep up with the game at this time (the current time is 3:00 in the afternoon here when it starts). No matter how fun the game is (and believe you me, I'm enjoying it thus far), Church wins.

Query: Do these patches make a difference to those of us who do not have performance issues? I have 1GB of RAM and a Radeon Fire Mobility T2 with 128MB VRAM (I think that's equivalent to a 9700), and I never noticed any stuttering. Would it make my installation even more TEH R0Xx0rRRzZZ1Z ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last time I was on the Valve boards (which has been awhile) the patches didn't do anything to fix the stuttering for a lot of people. So I hunted down the optimization code edit, got my game working pretty alright, and never installed any of them. No reason to really, my game was working, and there's no reason to patch for online play because of the cruddy connection I have, not to mention the problem of downloading the ever increasing in file size patches on the cruddy connection I have. <_<
