It's....from....yesterday. Oh, and Nartwak, on the brainsize, not really all that amazing considering we don't use ninety percent of our brain on average. If they were using all of it, it's probably about the same as ours if I had to hazard a guess.

This is so awesome!!! Homo Floresiensis The most amazing bit is how much was actually found, entire skeletons, stone tools and evidence of fire use and hunting large game. Only creature I've ever heard of using fire is Man; so this kinda rules out this skeleton being a primate. Discuss...

I liked it too. Has to be the coolest suit ever...though that's probably the geek in me talking.

The scarf was only with one of the Doctor's, played by Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor, from the late 70's and early 80's). The scarf is by no means a Dr. Who staple. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes....but....but....but....The scarf was cool.

Last I knew the cape was some sort of armor as well (else how the fokk does he stop bullets with it), and he also uses it to glide to an extent. That and it's totally badass.

I think she looks like her chest is to the point where she wouldn't have trouble certifying it as a life preserver, and she probably has enough plastic in her that she is no longer biodegradable. <yes, I am male>

I wasn't aware that knowing how to link an image was any sort of significant accomplishment... People have been doing it here for ages. Using the IMG button will also show you the necessary code anyways, when it places it into your message. But.. I'm glad you figured it out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Way to burst my bubble.
-
Of course you can, but where's the sense of accomplishment in that?

I'm not a magician, I'm an amateur codemonkey. And if none of the better coders ever shared their secrets, I'd be learning HTML a whole lot slower than I am now.

As far as something obtainable for you at this point, I have to recommend Ogre3d. There is quite a bit you can learn from it. I think the webpage is ogre3d.org. It's an open source object oriented 3d engine that is developed in c++. Why does that matter? I know a lot of people who can't spell and are still quite intelligent. I don't think that has anything to do with anything. Though I think proper spelling is good for presentation I would say anytime you need to do that you will have a spell check available. Telling someone to spell properly in forums/chat is just a little silly IMO. I think you are being way too hard on the guy for no reason at all. His only remotely stupid comment was about the bg programmers, but he's entitled to his opinion just like those of us who like to insult microsoft, lol. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eh, just trying to give the kid a reality check. I'm less than two years older than him and I can see the utter fallacy of his plans. Meh. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you're less than two years ahead of me, I'd take it kindly if you didn't call me kid, as I hang out with seniors all them time, whether because of sports or because they're my friends, and none of them are possessed with the urge to call me kid... <_< Newayz back to my mod... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because netspeek is annoying, and it pisses me off. Until you stop typing your messages like the stereotype for a 13 year old AOHell user, I'll continue to call you kid....kid. Ah... now I'm beginning to understand. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> priceless <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Touche Jason. Perhaps I should clarify, I was rather foolish, the courses were easy, but it was more fun to cut class. I took the tests, and scored high on all of them, but unfortunately, you have to be in class to earn the credits. Basically I failed on a technicality. neither do i... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because it's the internet, and I can.

Well, I've started to learn HTML, and knowing that most UBB/PHPBB/whatever code is a sort of bastardization of HTML, I decided to see if I could use an image as a hotlink....alot of people probably already know this, but it's a useful feature for those who don't. So far, I've found out it works in PHPBB, vBulletin, Invision Power Board (what this forum's software is based on). To do it, you just take the address you want to link the image to, and use the tag, then sandwich an And just to prove it works: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v146/Sevantoferu/snfbanner.gif' alt='snfbanner.gif'>

Refresh my memory on what we've done for the Sudan? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean besides Clinton bombing the crap out of them in '98 to 'get Osama' in an effort to take the public eye off of his problems with Ms. Lewinsky? Oh yeah....it didn't work...didn't get all that much coverage. Meh. -
I liked Alien Resurrection. Then again, I'm such a fanboi of those sadistic bugs that franchise can never do wrong....except perhaps AvP....that was pretty bad.

Eeeeeexcept the link I put in the original post has news as of two days ago. Brian Singer is directing it (X-men Movies), Brandon Routh is starring, and they WILL be using the John Williams soundtrack. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yesssssssssssss, but you didn't say there is new news on the Superman film. You said "Hey everyone, there IS a Superman film being made". Hence my comment. The casting news has been an "offical" rumor even since shots of him dressed as supes began floating around and the director has been attached for awhile now. so there <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, but no John Williams! SO THERE!!! Thhhhbbbbbbpppppptttt!

Not being one to often post threads, but hijack others, I waited a few days after seeing this to post this. There is ANOTHER SUPERMAN MOVIE in the works now, and even though it's going to obviously lack Chris Reeve, it does sound rather promising.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> It sounds like a profile of Mr. Tang. -
If you check out Penny Arcade right now, their latest comic is about this show.

Can someone sum up what happened tonight? I missed it as my dad was watching baseball.

I was just making a jab at Lucas.....sorry you didn't catch on. I like puppets, and I knew all that. I was quite upset when he did what he did with the Special Edition, and then the Prequel Trilogies, and now the Special Special Edition DVDs. Puppets are cool.

You're telling me... Maybe it's the house or something, I would be replacing hard-disks and cd drives pretty frequently. Really frequently. And then there would be a new problem arising every now and then for one or another dysfunctional part (later on, my computer would crash variably between 10 minutes and a full 3 hours of work.) On top of that was the crappy video card which wasn't working so well and I needed to upgrade, unbeknowest to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's odd, really odd. I've had my current PC specs for about a year now, and I'm still able to play literally EVERYTHING even if it's not on full resolution (I can play Doom III on High but not Ultra). First, what HDD brand are you buying? There's been known problems with several of the major brands lately, Maxtor, Western Digital, and some other one I don't remember being among them. I've had really good luck with my dual Seagate drives. Also, the cheapest video card, even if it's the same 'model' may not be the same quality as the manufacturer's will take the same GPU and amount of RAM (read technology/model) and totally remake it with software changes, and cooling tech. If you're buying ATI, I'd stick to house ATI cards, or Sapphire, with the occasional Infotek depending on the reviews. Nvidia, house, Chainsaw, MSI, and VIA seem to be best. I've also found that a well maintained, build your own computer will last a helluva lot longer than one of those crappy in house Dell/HP/Compaq/Sony/Whatever, with the exception of maybe Monarch, Falcon, Alienware, or Voodoo. But even then, those will cost you a heap more money than if you build it yourself, and you don't have quite the amount of knowledge that will be handy for tweaking it down the line when it's on it's last legs before it's upgrade. If you build your own, tweak it out a little, and take good cre of it, it will actually be cheaper than a console in the long run because they absolutely RAPE you with console game prices; so long as you're not the kind of person who pre-orders everything. Hope this helps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, it doesn't. I'm still saying it could be my house, because it's not the first computer that's had problems. The computer before this last one that I had did last quite a while, admittedly, but not nearly the decad-age to be cheaper than buying all the up to date consoles in that time would be. And still, that computer didn't exactly run without a hitch, and I was probably about two generations behind in terms of the games I could play on it before I upgraded. And when I say, "didn't exactly run without a hitch," I mean it crashed... A LOT. After going through two computers with the same obscure problem, well... And yes, the room temp was perfectly fine. Motherboard sensors all detected that the CPU got a little warm, but it was perfectly reasonably warm and not near enough for the CPU to shut off because of the heat. Then again, my Dell keeps giving me this nonsense about .dll files not being a proper picture file. Doesn't seem to affect anything, save for being a minor annoyance on startup. I used ASUS drives. My brother, who's quite computer savvy, recommended them, and I did a little research myself. This was a few years ago, also, so "recently" probably doesn't mean much about back then. I'll remember seagate for the future, but computer hardware tends to be strangely finicky nonetheless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it was three or four years ago the problems surfaced IIRC. I'm still reading about people having the same problem too. Well, dunno what to say, other than perhaps take a stroll on down to the TSG forums and see if they can help you.
