  1. What interpretation needed when you are proven not the Herald of Andraste, not a Messiah? Being a Messiah does not need interpretations, either you are or you are not
  2. Why not? Andraste was after all a real person who led a revolt against the remains of the Tevinter Imperium. You're not called Herald of the Maker in the game after all. /wordmincing The way i understand it The Herald of Andraste means you are chosen by Andraste, a Messiah, a Chosen One of the said deity. In this game it is proven that you are not, then you are not. Andraste is a deity of Chantry religion, the bride of The Maker. So in the future The Chantry just write whatever they wish about your character being a Messiah but everyone near him/her know it is fake.
  3. It's deliberately left obscure. Maybe the protagonist was chosen by God, or maybe they are just stupidly lucky and there is no God. You have to decide for yourself what you believe. Not at all chosen by God, remember that The Maker have left and don't care about anything anymore. Secondly the thing at your hand is magic, you just accidentally get part of it at your hand. It have nothing to do with divine whatsoever, it just what people want to believe about you. You can just i. agree with them then proven false ii. deny them and proven true Both of above is the conclusion, you are not The Chosen One, you can only wear a mask and the mask become you or throw away the mask put upon your face. Sorry, but you are guilty of taking the in game lore at face value, when the game itself makes it clear that it is myth, and may contain little or no truth. The Maker may or may not have left, or may never have existed in the first place, or there may be some other entity entirely manipulating events. Therefore you are not the Herald of Andraste
  4. If want Sci-Fi games have no classes, better make it FPS game, just shoot, shoot, shoot, throw bombs and don't care about anything else. That will please CoD crowd. Classes that makes games interesting for me, because classes are also roles, it will remind myself it is not me in the game, but the character i created. But it is boring though if classes going the same tank/dps/nuker/healer every time, why not mix-match it? The assault guy/girl doesn't have to be a tank, the technician doesn't have to be weak nerd, the medic doesn't have to be don't know combat at all. So i think, it is a matter of Combat Skills and Non-Combat Skills, just separate these two. Which skills being invest more by player determine the class of the character created. Make it if invest both equally the character will not reach maximum speciality, a Jane of trades know a bit of this and that but not excel in any.
  5. So who forces you to become a hybrid when you clearly don't want to become a hybrid? If the option is there, it is still merely an option. If you don't want to (say, use magic in Dark Souls and invest in Attunement), then don't. Surely you have the self-control to play as you want instead of actively going against your character concept! I lack of self control, without class syetm i will want to try everything nd become jane of all trade, i don't like fake restriction, why would i put restriction on my self while there is no restriction? So non-Mage should not use magic in it's skill tree (and no magic-like skills in its skill tree), unless want to make it a hybrid, that is what i believe as class system. Today more games remove that restriction, and us players who put fake restriction on self while playing, and for me it's annoying.

  7. Ah yes, the whole world is a big organism, everyone living in its belly
  8. The Chantry control lyrium trade, they don't want to recruit too many Templars because where they want to get money to buy lyrium from the dwarves. They only create propagandas the same time they create fanatical religious officers to keep mages in control. It is all about control, it just happen that Mages are out of control. I give you an example, A country attacking B country and take over the opium trade, the money from the trade they fund the fanatical religious group to terrorize C country, while the same time interpol making operations to capture little fish who sell opium in black market. But suddenly C country can counter the fanatical religious terrorist, so that's what happen. The Chantry only keep just enough lyrium to execute their agendas, political agenda. It is all about "we don't want Tevinter Imperium 2.0". That is what the story want to establish originally, i think. DA:I very strongly hints at lyrium being more than just the mineralized essence of magic it was in the earlier games, what with red lyrium apparently having being corrupted by the blight and growing rapidly under the careful guidance of Imshael. Whatever the lyrium can do, magical things whatsoever, it's still mineral dug up from earth. It just that this mineral can enable people to do awesome things and going crazy. It is still MINERAL.
  9. Lyrium is a mineral, that is it's nature, what else? Well i interpret it that way, am i wrong in my interpretation?
  10. In DA2, it is said that Templar does need lyrium, even the skill detail said like these below... "The strong arm of the Chantry, templars serve as guardians of the Circles of Magi, hunters of apostates and maleficarum, and rarely, as a standing army at the command of the Divine. Through ingestion of carefully prepared lyrium, templars gain resistance to magic, including the ability to interrupt spells. Though the Chantry controls the lyrium trade, those with the right connections can acquire enough to emulate the abilities of these vigilant warriors." "The lyrium infusing the templar's blood protects the templar from the Fade's influence. The templar gains resistance to all forms of hostile magic." http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Templar_%28Dragon_Age_II%29 By means they need lyrium and their power is from lyrium, not divine. About Herald of Andraste, no you are simply NOT the chosen one, it is just luck you survive the explosion, and you are there just because you are there...for me it is a meh story in anyway. You just barge in and then things happen...it is not a compelling story ever. Not like The Warden and even Hawke
  11. It is inconsistency then, bad writing, or some Illuminati agensts messed up with the lore. In DA:O it is established that Templar don't need lyrium, and it is proven in game mechanic. But DA2 retconed that saying that Templar does need lyrium, and in the book in which i don't read but i read the comments about it in BSN Alistair said he forgot that Templar does need lyrium, he don't know because he don't take the vow. And now this...what the heck? But still you need lyrium to unlock Templar specialization in DA:I isn't it? By the way that is not the only issue, another issue is you are not the Herald of Andraste no matter what. Either you are faithful or not, your green thing at your hand is not even divine, it's magic. But you can play along as the "Herald of Andraste", meaning you are a false Messiah no matter what. It is just that you may reject and proven true, or accept and proven false... I see the pattern here, even in DA:O it have been established that "The Maker have left us, He will not return", but in DA universe the religious peoples still go nuts believing in miracles, believing The Maker send Messiah and so on...which means religion is just false in DA universe. God hate them, but they still believe in God and do everything in God's name. While in the mean time the devils just lulz everywhere......it is "believe what you will (but the devil is here no matter what)"
  12. Even if God made the midichlorians, God put them in Jesus and made the midichlorians work through his divine powers its...science? Why would God take an efforet to create midichlorian and put into Jesus to enable him to cast his miracles rather than Jesus just "bling!" and it's miracle? Why would God have Jesus do it when God can do it Himself? You're okay as long as God has one intermediary (Jesus) but not two (Midichlorians and Jesus)? Its like saying you're okay when mages pull magic from the Fade in Dragon Age games, and you're okay when Demons pull magic from the Fade, but a normal person possessed by a demon and pulling magic from the Fade no longer works for you. (See what I did there? Brought us back to Dragon Age). Well, my believe in Jesus is different than Christian, for me Christian believe Jesus is Son of God lessen the miracle part, he not being Son of God making miracle more into sense, but that just my believe as a Muslim. Mages pull magic the Fade is not science unless they include in midichlorian into all Mages, so far they keep it mysteriously, and that's fine. The issue here is Templar need lyrium to give them miracle, and it is not even miracle, it's lyrium, see? That's what i am talking about, they deny miracle by giving scepticism in everything about divine power, but they leave magic alone, that is why i say they are Satanist. I always talking about Dragon Age here, i only use others as example, to make a point.
  13. Even if God made the midichlorians, God put them in Jesus and made the midichlorians work through his divine powers its...science? Why would God take an efforet to create midichlorian and put into Jesus to enable him to cast his miracles rather than Jesus just "bling!" and it's miracle? No, God work in mysterious way, the prophets are messengers of God, God grant them some miracles, mysteriously. Moses cast his staff, and his staff turn into white snake, eating other snakes that transform from Pharaoh magicians staves, is that even science? Exactly. That is why when writing a story of magical world, leave it unexplained, or else it become sceptic and science. That is what Dragon Age and Star Wars suffer. Does Harry Potter story give any explanation on why You-Know-Who cannot kill baby Harry scientifically? No, it is just "love is the most powerful magic ever", there you go baby Harry is saved.
  14. But if Jesus is divinely empowered, its still not a surprise he can do it assuming you know before hand He's divinely empowered. Why does suprise factor matter? Does the supernatural have to sneak up behind you and go "boo!" to be supernatural? And even if you know he can do it and that it involves midichlorian, you still have no basis for how it is done, what powers God has or anything that would make it "science" Now you want to argue just for the sake of arguing, i know English is not my language, but i know "surprise" doesn't always means sneak up behind people and scare them. If Jesus have midichlorian that enable him to channel powers, then it is science not miracle. Period.
  15. God work in mysterious way...let keep it to that Bioware in every turn want to deny the mysterious power of God, but they show you visibly the power of demons and magic. You can't deny that in the game they never explain where magic come from, but they always try to deny miracles. When magic, it's simply magic, but when it comes to God, they always pulling into "it is not God" What conclusion i can make?
  16. It is scientific in Star Wars universe after it being introduced, meaning in that world it is science now. Ok, i give you comparison, what if the Bible say Jesus can cure the lepers because he have midichlowhatever in his body that somehow enable him to channel God's power surround him to heal? It is not miracle anymore Um.... yes it is. Because it would still be a supernatural event. No it is not...because it will not be a suprise Jesus can do that, because he have midichlowhatever, no one else have. Christians believe in Jesus because he done miracles, something unexplained, something mystery. Muslim also believe except the Son of God part. If the scripture telling he can do such thing because he have this thing in his body, then it is a no suprise. Anyone could clone Jesus and making another Jesus or whatever That's another thing, why would Sifodiyas didn't order clones with midichlorian but using a bounty hunter gene instead? He could create an army of Jedis and Anakin the leader of the clones because he himself is suppoed to be created because of that, to become the leader of Sidious army. Clones can be programmed and so there will be no issue Anakin could be mysterious as Jesus with his miraculous birth, but then because of midichlorian he is no longer miraculous because he is a clone made by Palpatine That is why in magical universe, do not put in scepticism, it will destroy the fun.
  17. It is scientific in Star Wars universe after it being introduced, meaning in that world it is science now. Ok, i give you comparison, what if the Bible say Jesus can cure the lepers because he have midichlowhatever in his body that somehow enable him to channel God's power surround him to heal? It is not miracle anymore
  18. It is because George Lucas simply toss it away after fans rage. How midichlorian work is not included in the two episodes after it being introduced in episode 1. You only get reference about it in episode 3 and that's it, "manipulating midichlorian to create life" Palpatine say, that doesn't sound mystic for me. Since Lucas himself make this thing based on mitocondria, the thing in your cell that generate energy, there you got it, it's science I just being sarcastic, what i mean is, if God appear to us all now, then everyone have no issue anymore. There will be no "miracles", Muslims, Jews and Christians believe in miracles, it is something we will say to you "it's miracle from God" and try to convince you, if God just appear and say "yes I did it!", then we religious people have lost all the fun to convince you about it isn't it? So the same in games, when you remove the mystical part in what suposed to be mystic, it is not fun anymore
  19. Okay so you die and go into the afterlife and God's there. Its no longer faith, its fact. The fact that God could be fact doesn't negate faith. But you still don't know why midichlorians do anything - it is still just something mysterious...maybe God, maybe spirits, maybe Satan, maybe magic, maybe Qi...who knows? And...does that change God in anyway? Does it change the nature of the universe? Would it be...bad? i. When in afterlife, it doesn't matter anymore, either you go to heaven and meet God, or you going to hell because not believe while you live. Faith is only an issue while you live, not after death, at least this is true for Abrahamic religion. There are religion that you may live again, reincarnate, but this also only an issue while you live, no one can really tell they live again as other person or beings, all we got about reincarnation are just claims, can never be proven scientifically. So in anyway, faith is an issue while you live, not after death. ii. It have been established that Jedis have a lot of midichlorians than any normal beings in Star Wars universe, and because of this they are able to use their power they claim as the Force, that is energy surround everything. In other word, you have a lot of midichlorian, you can use this power, if you don't have enough midichlorian, you can't use this power, you can only dream on it. It's science, not mystic anymore. iii. Faith is a matter of belief, what you believe in, if it is proven scientifically God existed, you don't need to believe, you just have to accept it, it is not bad for me, maybe bad for atheists...but there will be no fun anymore...the world will be dull...there will be no terrorist attacks, no War on Terror, no ISIS, no Klu Klux Klan, no Crusades, no witch burning, no many things...what is there left in the world to make news?
  20. So that's it then. Just like every other conspiracy nut on this planet when faced with evidence to the contrary you just retreat further into your world of self-delusion and make-believe. It's funny how you dismiss the Seekers as proof to the contrary saying "there is no proof that they don't secretly do lyrium" when all you do is talking about how faith-based abilities SHOULD REQUIRE NO PROOF as to not turn them into science. You just give an assumption, not evidence. I give evidence, you don't. Seekers ability is Templar ability and according to the retconed lore they must consume lyrium. There is no evidence that Seekers gain their Templar ability by faith and training. So i make a speculation that "they consume lyrium secretly", but you in other hand have no basis at all for your claim. What you claim as evidence is not even evidence, but my my claim supported by evidence, no matter if it just make believe
  21. Well, I'll come out and say it: That is wrong. Whether the Templars really need to use lyrium or not doesn't matter because there are Seekers having those powers who gain them by training and faith alone. You're drawing up a huge anti-religious conspiracy from a silly retcon that was retconned again by adding Seekers into the game. There's no organized conspiracy here, just two or more writers taking liberty with established lore. That's unfortunate to be sure, but not really unexpected, especially not from Bioware. The only other more retcon happy bunch is working at Blizzard, and oh boy, compared to them Bioware is especially tame in comparison. No, we don't know the nature of Seeker ability yet. You claim they gain ability through faith and training but i don't see any proof for that. Maybe they consume lyrium secretly, who know? Templar do need lyrium, if Seekers also have the same ability without using lyrium, i can say it just a bad writing, overlook and lazyness They retconed Templar ability in DA2, they also making Templar specialization need you to consume lyrium in DA:I, but then Seekers having the same ability withot lyrium. That's the writers are messing with their own lore. Well, as at any places, Illuminati are only one or two person in any organizations, they who messed up the writing then making it inconsistent wth other writers.... It doesn't matter, they show you demons or spirits as a real thing that cannot be denied, but the existence of God is always doubtful. That is my point. Spirit turn bad and becoming demon or vice versa is not important, the point is these being is undoubtfully existed and you can make deal with them. Anything that could be related to God is doubtful in nature, but with these things are not. Andraste Ash miracle could be contested, but demons reward is demons reward There is no bad things happen to you dealing with demons, bad things only happen to others, it is because you are the hero and a badass, meaning if you are a badass you can deal with demons without any risk. In DA:O you may get rewards and cast away demon possessing Conor or let her possessed the child, you may learn Blood Magic and let demon possesed the child, in anyway nothing bad happen to you when you make deal with demons because you are the badas. This is true in all the series, bad things only happen to other people, not to you when you make deal with demons. Meaning, "you may sacrifice others for your own gain when deal with demons"
  22. Says the tool...
  23. No, they are not atheists, they are satanists, Illuminati. That's why they use eye symbol. People always confuse, of course atheists attack religion, but atheists are just tools, behind them are satanists, these people, the Illuminati, are not atheists, they are very "religious"... As i mention, they give you doubt about God, but they show demons existed. Demons in this game are not solely bad and evil. You may become friends with demons, sex with demons, working with demons, ect. They are beings of another realms want to be in this world just because they want to be in this world. In this game, demons is not your enemy. In this game, they try hard to destroy the very basis of religiuon, that is faith to God, in other way they show you making deal with demons could lead to something either good or bad, but you can make deal with demons, and demons can give you anything you wanted In this game, you may deny the existence of God, but you can't deny the existence of demons...Bioware is not atheist, but satanist, Illuminati.
  24. Firewalking has been explained by science 80 years ago. Sorry, I guess I now ruined shaolin monks for you. And for themselves. Because, obviously. That is what i mean...now you understand my argument? They ruin the mystical value of the Force in Star Wars and Templar ability in Dragon Age by scepticism In any pantheism religion, there are many gods, demigods, goddesses...in their story and myth these gods are real in sense of realism as we know and understand about what is real. In Greek there is Hercules son of Zeus and Zeus can give lightning strike and so on, in India there is Rama and Shiva and so on, these characters existed in real sense in their stories D&D and games are like that, no difference, it is a story where divine beings existed in real sense, their existence is something not to argue about because they existed in such state. There is no problem. But Dragon Age isn't like D&D or mythology, the religion in DA is closer to real world religion where you can doubt the existence of God or you can be faithful believing in God existence. By adding scepticism in DA it destroy mystical value of what it should be remain mysterous as in real world. Why put in religion in the first place if you intend to destroy the belief system by justifying why things happen scientifically in the game other than to send message to players that religion is crap?
  25. i. God create everything is faith, not scientific fact. To argue either God create everything or not scientifically for me is stupid, because we cannot argue what being believed as faith using empirical method. But what you see today in religion/creationist vs science/atheism debates are just competition between the two faction, i don't bother want to involved in it, because it just plain stupid for me. God is neither proven or disproven via science, because you just need to believe God existed, that is why it is called faith. If you need evidence that God exist then you are not faithful, you need a ground to make you believe, you have doubt until it is proven. If you want to discredit God existence using science then you are using wrong method to disproven God existence, how come you want to against something based on faith, on what people believe, by using facts? If people believe there is a flyring spaghetti, it doesn't matter it is true or not scientifically, because people believe that no matter what. ii. Midichlorian justify the existence of the Force claimed by Jedi because midichlorian is the thing that allow Jedis to use the Force, automatically "the Force does exist as they claim", and it is not something to argue about it's existence. Without midichlorian we can argue that their powers maybe something else and not "the Force" as they claim , it maybe magic, it maybe psychokinetic whatever things we can come out. Meaning what they claim as "the Force" could be not "the Force" without midichlorian, it just something mysterious...maybe God, maybe spirits, maybe Satan...who know? iii. if science prove the existence of God, then it is no longer a matter of faith, it become factual
