"Also what was the point of not wearing armor?" For fast recovery time. And also i though like you that 2 weapons with 18 DEX and no recovery time malus could interrupt a lot the enemies : it was a wrong move. * So if a fighter gains much endurance and vitality each level, it shouldn't be good to maximize CON ?

Hi there. I made a test to understand what did you meant. So i created a savage orlan fighter to tank. Basically he was : 10 MIG 3 CON 18 DEX 7 INT 20 PER 19 RES (hope the names of the stat are good, i got the game in french) OK so my orlan started at like 54 endurance pfiouuu what a **** tank. Then i faced alone the 2 bandits at the beggining, 2 handed, without armor. And i got my ass kicked !!! So what's the point minimizing constitution ???

it wasnt really a max lvl but a max xp, since not all classes level at the same rate in d&d 2nd edition. but in baldurs gate 1 you will never hit the lvl cap just by doing all quest and sidequest. it was needed intencional xp grinding. For example, spaming rest in the werewolf area, were your rest was interrupted by 6-7 werewolfs worth 3ks xp each. (and even then you need to spam kill for 3-4 hours with a full party) In BG 1 You would *easily* hit the XP threshold by just doing quests + sidequests. I think I was at 250,000XP at the end of BG 1 + TOTSC on my most recent trilogy run with a full party of 6. I think in BG 2 without TOB you would reliably hit the XP cap if you did everything IIRC. By soloing BG2 + ToB you could actually reach the level cap of ToB before facing the final boss of BG2 lol

Can't remember the name of it. It's red and it got with it 2 young dragons and some xaurips... It's in a cave for a quest related to a female priest in defiance bay. All my characters are lvl 6, i play on normal. My PC is a tank (not very good but the best in my team), i got Aloth, Eder, Kana, Durance and Sagani... I tried tactical retreat into a corridor when i can face only the dragon AND one young dragon at the same time, but the xaurips shoot me long range with spells and bows either. With Durance i buffed my PC and Eder (tanks) and healed them, with Aloth i did some AoE behind the dragon to kill the xaurips at least (but it didn't worked, altrough i casted everything i got)... With Kana i buffed the melee and shoot the young dragon and Sagani aimed the young dragon... OK i'm not going to detail the whole fight but it was some mess. I "hardly-wounded" the dragon at a time but it was already too late. Even if i killed it, the others enemies could have take care of me. So.................. Any tactics or maybe i shall try later ?

OK thanks, but that's nearly impossible on PoE since the attributes are almost all important for each class ? I'll take the example of BG, you make a berserk, you can min INT, WIS, and CHA and max the reste. You do a fighter in PoE : what can you minimize ? INT ? OK but what else ? Actually, no, PoE rewards min/maxing considerably. There's essentially two relevant builds; Tank or DPS. Tanks want Resolve and Perception. Everyone else wants Might, Dexterity and Intellect. Yes, the Attributes are generalized, and gives equal effect regardless of class, but to most, it's not viable to build them as a tank to begin with, so you can immediately discount Perception, Resolve and Constitution. So for your question, as a Fighter, the question becomes; what do you want to do? If you want to optimize for tanking, dump Might and Dexterity, pump Resolve and Perception, wear heavy armour and a big shield. Weapon doesn't matter, you won't be doing damage, but go with a Sabre anyway. Anything left over goes into Intellect because it increases durations. You want to do damage? Dump Resolve and Perception, pump Might and Dexterity. Wear Cloth and wield an Estoc. Put any leftover points into Intellect because it increases durations. Done. PoE has some good ideals to build upon, but balanced, it is not. When people complained about the terrible Attributes of the Companions because the Attribute bonuses are lopsided (Perception is useless for Alott, a Wizard, for example) the response was to change the companions to "better" Attributes, betraying that they know that the Attributes are heavily min/max-able, and not at all "equally good" for classes based on concept, and that they are willing to compromise character themes, the mechanical/narrative interaction of the game, but never the address the Attribute issues themselves. Hopefully it's going to be something they'll address at some point in the future, probably not until a sequel, but I wouldn't hold my breath. At one point they were also talking about slowly doing away with the "Combat Only" issue with abilities, but last patch, they actually added that limitation to more abilities, not fewer, so, eh, not sure what to expect in the future. They're all over the board at this point. Thank you i understand better. BG was far more easy to min-max i think. But here, all the stats are essentials to make a good "class" character. A fighter with low damages makes no sense, as well as a fighter with no deflection. You gotta choose well what you're ready to loose when creating a character and all are importants things (except INT for fighters or PER for wizard, stuffs like theses). Personnally i think it's good. The ultimate ultimate warrior is impossible to do which leads to make sacrifices.

In this type of games, i just care about mechanics. The rest is story and lore (and i like it but i won't create a looser to make him RP) You have already contracted the sickness. Please lock yourself in your home and don't leave until you change your mind. Thanks you. I had that sickness looooong ago... I just went to a doctor who told me the name of my disease Actually, i think i can't cure it : i'm a min-max character IRL
