RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - FREE WHITE HOUSE MONTAGE
injurai replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
>adult content in a sensibly contextualized manner >GTA5 A very fleshed out world, with functional strip clubs which is a small part of the total game. You're confusing GTA's accentuate caricature of America with it's grounded context. -

TW3 and GTAV will get a pass. I do think there is a difference between a game that sells itself as a sex product and one that just depicts adult content in a sensibly contextualized manner. Some products their primary outward branding is a school girl in heat with the camera. Some people don't want that plastered all over and that's understandable. Games that are primarily sex products are better tucked away in an opt-in adult section. Not sure why Steam doesn't just implement something like that. -
I almost nearly was tricked into being interested in this... http://stoneyroads.com/2018/05/prince-harry-announces-royal-wedding-afterparty-with-carl-cox-goldie-and-more/ alas this was satire

tbh, we have x-ray machines and journalism needs saving -
Oil wants to be free, we should liberate it.

Venezuela certainly has the oil for it. It's like sitting on a massive semi-fungible trust fund. Print your own dollar sort of thing, funny (tragic) that oil gets them further than their own inflated currency.

Given that Star Wars drew so much from Hidden Fortress, this sounds like a pretty good starting point for an Kenobi film.

How apeist of you. Hominidity-politics is ruining our ability to communicate amongst ourselves. -

@Agiel, That's the one, without the name I couldn't conjure a single search field to find it. Hopefully others are finding their way to it. -

I believe most of the team either went to join the Metro guys at 4A (which then moved to Malta.) Or went to Vostok to work on Survivarium. A few people went on to make some indie puzzle game that was sort of pitched like a Myst, I totally forget the name and don't know if it ever came out. -

Rage, Brink, Bulletstorm, Borderlands, Mad Max, Fortnight, Sunset Overdrive It's certainly not uncovered ground. Execution is really what I think will make this game. -

If they have the ideas and vision, I think they would want to keep the momentum. Especially now that the IP is gaining a wider market. Which is why I think someone else will get to direct. Fresh ideas and vision to strike while the iron is hot.
-
As a reminder, Feargus is on record wanting to do PoE3, market permitting. It probably won't be Josh Sawyer direction, but will probably be someone else who is plenty capable of leading the project. Which would be a good chance for new ideas anyways. I doubt they would take the IP anywhere until they finish out The Watchers story. Would 3 be this teams next project or might they take a gap project? Who knows, if they take a gap project then maybe Josh would return to finish what he started. I think everyone expects the world of Eora to be a place that many can leave their mark on over time.

I actually just recently started digging through his material, after coming to know his connection with HST and that journalistic movement. RIP

Not sure about that, two very different types of games. Still though, I wonder what this means for Fallout. My thought is they are rebuilding their production pipeline for TES around new tech, maybe even id's tech, and hopefully Fallout will be hibernating alongside it. -

It looks far better than Borderlands, and the diablo gun gimmick of that game never really panned out like I had hoped. This looks like proper mad max wasteland fun. -

Hot damn, and Avalanche is behind it too. The tone of the teaser makes a lot more sense now. -
As Venezuelans suffer, Maduro buys foreign oil to subsidize Cuba "Venezuela’s state-run oil firm PDVSA has bought nearly $440 million worth of foreign crude and shipped it directly to Cuba on friendly credit terms - and often at a loss, according to internal company documents reviewed by Reuters. The shipments are the first documented instances of the OPEC nation buying crude to supply regional allies instead of selling them oil from its own vast reserves."

The US should declare war against it's aging infrastructure.
-
The US should just continue it's academic brain drain on the region if it really cares about winning in the long run. Short of a war, an executive military campaign is still going to be an awful road to head down. I can't wait until the entire middle eastern region is sucked dry of all it's oil, and the oil wealth has been invested in sustained service industries. Then finally the region can experience an at will shift to a humanitarian-modernity without the liberal hawks trying to pull the region up on a pedestal or the fear monger conservatives trying to keep everyone a pedestal they think is cramped enough. The US could really use a good two decades to focus on itself.
