  1. Diablo 1 was better single player I think.
  2. And why not? Make them useful to society instead of killing them. Or give them the option of death or Mars.
  3. What to you were the defining elements of Diablo? Surely not plot, characters, dialogue. 1) Huge variety of interesting character builds 2) Metagaming (both items and builds) 3) Trying to kill faster than everybody else or in more awesome ways than everyone else while still working in a team (this is the key element that makes the game - otherwise we'd all play it singleplayer... if at all)
  4. So Kosovo is full of Islamic terrorists now...? Um... *dumbfounded*
  5. Euthanasia is suicide. I would say it's pretty damn relevant to what you mentioned but whatever. It's a very different architecture, because it's an organised event. It's like comparing getting other people high with getting high yourself. The key distinction being that between an assault by another party and self harm. I cannot comprehend the hypocrisy of this post. How can you on the one hand champion an individual's right to choose what is best for them while on the other hand vilify those who would supply such an individual with the means or the information to enact that right? It's worse than simply not believing in individual freedoms at all - at least that is a consistent stance, albeit misguided.
  6. This is an argument I could theoretically see myself being persuaded by. The issue of offenders with no remorse is one which I am not informed enough about or haven't thought enough about and thus currently reserve judgement on. "Rehabilitation doesn't work" from Orogun is unfortunately not such an argument. It comes across as at best simplistic and naive and at worst populist and inhumane.
  7. http://darryl-cunningham.blogspot.com/2010...ate-change.html Way to not read the actual article. I read both articles. Ironically, my right-wing friend linked to it on her Facebook. She studies ocean science. Global warming is far less of a bipartisan issue over here. It's tiresome at points but it makes enough very valid points about the stupidity of global warming deniers to be worth circulating.

  10. Hahahaha I was waiting for something like this. Cheers for the laugh.
  11. Did I say something to upset you...?
  12. Looks like I was wrong. They're just too stupid (thankfully) to do seperate publisher packs for Australia and America. FO: NV by itself has a regular price before discount of $90. But as part of the pack with FO3 it is $50 and the pack itself is $66. So all in all I really should buy this pack since I'd like to play both games but have been putting it off due to their ridiculous pricing. This way I actually get them on the cheap. So any Aussies out there, you've got like another 5 or 6 hours to take advantage of this.
  13. I suspect you should have played the very first Age of Wonders first (allegedly better), although by all rights Shadow Magic should be pretty fun given the reviews and user ratings it got. Haven't played it however. Number 2 is apparently also decent.
  14. This. But I don't give a **** how painfully bad WoW is because I have Diablo 3 to look forward to!
  15. I had the same problem. Might be worth my while to buy it on Steam then.
  16. This is insane. And Fallout: New Vegas's price has dropped from $90 to $50 (plus the 33% discount brings it below $40). Did Obsid's publisher actually listen? I know what I'll be playing for the next few months!
  17. You know, Sydney does have that going for it - so much amazing food. I couldn't walk far without running into a restaurant with exotic food from an exotic country - Japan, Korea, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Germany, Greece, Singapore, Nepal, Italy, Turkey. It became a bit of a problem at one point when all I wanted was some potato wedges and couldn't find a fish and chip shop for the life of me.
  18. Do you think those two situations are basically the same, Gorth? To me you've got a significant difference in persecution and animosity levels between the two situations (am I wrong?) I didn't and don't want South Ossetia breaking away only to become less democratic and more authoritarian under Russia's thumb. That really is my main motivating interest when deciding whether I support separatist groups - are human rights, living standards, freedoms, etc elevated by doing so.
  19. Haha! Apparently it's caused by a cold front colliding with a low pressure system, one of which is from Antarctica. Frankly I was kind of looking forward this month to that feeling of walking outside at 8am to go to work and feeling like I was entering an oven. Oh well, next month hopefully.
  20. It is now the longest day of the year, Christmas is not too far away, and it's the middle of summer here in Australia. That doesn't seem to matter to the weather. A few days ago it was flooding all over the place (still is in some states). Right now it is snowing in the mountains nearby and the apparent temperature yesterday fell as low as -3.4 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the sun is still extremely strong so it's very easy to get sunburnt, as I found out when I went swimming at Manly beach in Sydney yesterday even though the temperature was only about 15 degrees in the middle of the day. 5 days ago I had my fan on so I could fall asleep at night. Last night I had my heater on before bed and extra layers of blankets. Just thought I'd share this insanity with you all.
  21. Oh, ok. Just read some more of his comments. No problem mate.
