  1. lol. Shoulda gone for 50K and 50C, 'cause 0 C ain't that cold.
  2. American swearing is so boring. British and Australian swearing and such is a lot better. But if you take a look at swearing in some of the European and Asian languages it can take up entire sentences for the equivalent of the F word and such, usually involving the Virgin Mary (Italy), or your mother (Russia), or your odour (Japan), etc.
  3. I prefer cultural swearing. E.g. smeg, goit. Stuff that took some thought.
  4. That would appear to be your mother. I can confirm this.
  5. The Japanese of today barely resemble their accursed empire from WW2.
  6. Yeah. In other words: it was realistic. I think some people are used to FPS aiming where high energy particle scientists can pick up rocket launchers gauss guns and immediately know how to fire them 100% accuracy at small, fast moving headcrabs. The Deus Ex system is the best thing available when you want to introduce RPG stat elements into the game because it's still based on your skill. Bloodlines's system was atrocious (auto-aim, and your chance to hit randomly decided) - you could shoot point blank and still miss. ERrr, what Bloodlines game did you play? I had neither autoaim, nor was my chance to hit randomly decided as the crosshairs proved to work identically to Deus Ex's. Bloodlines forced a chance to miss. You could be right next to somebody and still sometimes shots would miss, depending on your guns skill. It was stupid. Bloodlines also helped aim (autoaim) by nudging the cross-hair closer to enemies when your crosshair was reasonably close to them. It was very annoying.
  7. Doesn't surprise me. The Japanese Empire was extremely cruel.
  8. I'm playing Heroes of Newerth at the moment. Not really anything else.
  9. Libya paid for prognosis on Lockerbie bomber lol.
  10. I would have accepted a game similar to Deus Ex 1 instead of perfection. But they chose to dumb it down and remove key elements that made DX1 great (many to appease console fans), resulting in DX2 being at best a mediocre game you play for, what, 15 hours, then throw away - ideal for the console fans it was re-aimed at, I guess.
  11. That's exactly right. Even supposing a hypothetical human with infinitely long telomeres, that being would still die of old age due to mutation build up (the most dramatic form of which is cancer - run-away cell growth). Of course, it may take a lot longer for that person to die of old age... or it might not. I'm not sure but I don't think infinite telomeres would prevent signs of ageing like wrinkles. Telomeres have a deeper purpose - preventing chromosomes from having important information deleted from the end due to transcription errors ('junk' telomeres DNA is deleted instead, until it runs out over many cell divisions). Many signs of old age are environmental - due to physical stress on the body over decades.
  12. VTM: Bloodlines. Ouch... That game is horribly unoptimised. I used to have a P4 2.8Ghz / Nvidia FX5900 Ultra / 2Gb ram desktop, and it was sluggish on that one. It might be possible to get it to run, but I doubt that it will run at a playable speed, i.e. it might not be fun. Something tells me it was a conflict with an individual component or driver on that machine because, while I accept that Bloodlines isn't terrific at optimisation, I got by fine with it on my Tablet PC which was a 1.4 Ghz Intel Centrino M with a Geforce 5200 @ 32 mb, with 256mb of CPU RAM. Framerate became sluggish at times but it was always more than playable and generally smooth.
  13. Nah, you could get a way with a few 5 year old games on it quite easily (E.g. Bloodlines, HL2). But it won't be running anything new. Edit: And I just realised Bloodlines is exactly what you're trying to play. lol
  14. Didn't somebody already post this thread? The key to eternal youth is finding out how to stop the telomeres from running out. Edit: on that note, one method of determining an upper bound on her lifespan is to see if her cells are dividing normally - i.e. whether they are erasing telomeres at the rate of somebody normal who is her physical age. If her cells ARE dividing normally, and I can't see why they wouldn't, then you'd expect a lifespan no longer than, say, 110 years old. It might be better to say this is the girl who never matures than the girl who never ages.
  15. If the integrated graphics is Intel I'd say you're boned. If it's nVidia, I'd say it's worth trying. Edit: It's Intel. You're boned.
  16. who kill thier babbys. becuse these babby cant frigth back
  17. The game has never been delayed before. A late 2009 release is certainly an early release for this game in the first place!
  18. 4 damage with max rifle skill. Either way I found it to be the fastest killing weapon in the game since a single mouse click to an enemy's head was enough to take down everything - including MJ12 augmented commandos (which take at least two pistol shots to the head). It helped to use a silencer mod. So yeah, 3 dmg is deceptive.
  19. I've yet to play Demigod and have applied for a beta key for LoL but not got one yet, so we'll see. Frankly. in terms of raw similarity to DotA, HoN is what you want. LoL and Demigod are more evolutions of the genre. It's great to see DotA spawning real games though. Reminds me of Counterstrike.
  20. He was spot on for Oblivion. But then that's not really an RPG.
