  1. The ****ed up thing is that they should have used that money to rework their piece of **** website. I don't think that machine generated many clicks on the article anyways. As far as I remember only a few people even bothered to comment on it. And their supper resolution pictures articles aren't that interesting. In my opinion the 10 grand they spent on the machine would have been way more useful for reworking the website and would have generated way more clicks.

  2. They are bound to the promises made in the Kickstarter. They are not bound by law, by they sure as hell are bound by the customers. What that means is, if they fail to deliver on the promises they made they will lose any backing on the next project they wish to Kickstart.

In the case of PoE they were not as clear as they could have been, they said it was going to be a spiritual successor with a different setting and their own system (non D&D). Some people took it as being a brand new iso cRPG and others took it as being IE game with a new setting and a "different" system. They did nothing to dissuade either camp during the kickstarter and now it may come to bite them in the ass, in the form of disappointing one camp and losing their future backing. On the other hand they could deliver the best of both worlds and make everyone happy, which is exactly what I am expecting.

  3. Is someone missing the fact that this is a story about a guy who got shoved in the back of a van, well the boot of a car, by balaclava clad gunmen and was taken to the police station or whatever and beaten up for being a reporter.

How do you not see the connection. I mean ....

The nice lady at the press conference isn't going to be the one kidnapping you, that happens later. Unless you file 'the truth' of course. No one bothers reporters with Russian press passes, they know the deal, everyone else better learn fast or get out.

Or he just found a nice hotel, stayed there for a couple of days and presto he was kidnapped. I really don't see the point of hauling in one reporter, of which I haven't even heard about before and beating him (while not leaving a mark on him) to teach him a lesson. A much more likely scenario is to put a bullet in his head and bury him in a ditch and let him serve as a warning to the others. My point is, even if this happened it doesn't strike me as something the FSB(or any other Russian agency) would do, but as an initiative of a man who leader of the group in the area, or something similar, but even that is farfetched to me and I think he is just lying his ass off.

  4. When someone has a gun and tells you to do something or else.. that's a threat of violence. Period. Don't try to spin otherwise.

Don't be stupid, there was no or "else". They were told not to lie or they will have their press passes revoked, there was no threat of violence. A police officer has a gun, when he tells you not to park by a hydrant or else you will get fined is that a threat of violence? Of course it isn't. They clearly stated the consequences of lies and it was not violence.

  5. Thank you, because we are all to dumb to understand what JS wrote.

JS described exactly the way of level scaling I claimed will be used i PoE in my discussion with Stun. JS post was my reference and source of the claim which Stun doubted.

No you said that some monsters will have a fixed level, where JS said all monster of the same type will have the same damage no matter what level you are and the only ones who will either be a higher or lower level, depending on the PCs level, are major enemy NPCs.

Also level scaling has to have a direct correlation to the level of the PC, or it's not level scaling.

  6. That's really telling. Especially about the way western media, and anone not towing the line, is viewed.

I wonder if all press conferences start with poorly vailed threats like that.

What threat? They are asked to report the truth, otherwise they are going to be bared from the conflict. I think that's a fair thing to ask. They shouldn't write opinionated articles that don't contain a shred of proof.

  7.

He pretty much says, that enemies that have levels (ie. mages, warriors, etc...) will be scaled and only in a few instances and after that he reiterated that monsters will do consistent damage, ie. no scaling. That is not the same level scaling as in Diablo or DA where all enemies take less and do more damage depending on your level.

What did you think of the hook scene? It's one of the few times in that game I thought, "Man, I'm so glad I wasn't wearing my 3d glasses for this". I was hoping for a happier ending too but I think Irrational did an amazing job with the storytelling itself. The scenes, the characters, the character acting whether that was done by actors or animators was just breathtaking sometimes. They really ended the studio on a high note

I played it in 2d XD. As for the ending I think it was great, I just always feel sad when the main characters dies, it takes me a while to get over it and to be honest I kind of thought/hoped that Booker was somehow alive, so when it ended I was doubly gutted. No happy endings for the Dewitt family. :(
