Why are the graphics so important to you? Don't get me wrong, I thought the game looked lackluster too, but because it looked like it played just like most of the billion other MMOs out there, except with an Elder Scrolls coat of paint on it. It's a matter of expectation versus reality. I can play games with ASCII graphics, but they made it with graphics and it just looks horrible for 2012, which I can live with, but.... The animation is exactly like in AOC, which I hated, and the models are like in Korean MMOs which I hated. And I wanted so much to love this game. Don't we already have enough of generic MMOs as it is? The character creation is bad, the starting location is a copy of the starting location in AOC, the class system is generic, this whole situation is like a bad dream. I wish they never announced and released anything. I thought they were serious about it and it turned out they only tried to save every penny instead of really going ahead with this game. They promised to make me a nice steak and they give me a cold hotdog. I wish they never promised anything.

Bethesda has disappointed me in many ways over the years, but graphics have never been one of them. A leaked video is really not something you should use to make judgement, there are a lot of reasons the graphics may look lackluster. Even is they add super shadows and shocking anti-aliasing, that won't change the models with 3 polygons on which things are drawn with textures, like in Orgrimmar giant ropes were not actually ropes on walls, but textures. Same thing here, but on player models. Wow, that's lame. Their spells - waste of text. They could've taken things straight from TES games, but they chose to make it less imaginative than my toilet room. Plus, like I said, graphics from the times of LA2. I was expecting bad, but this blew me away.

That leaked video of TES Online gameplay was weak. I knew they were gonna botch it up, but to botch it up like this really requires some motivation. Graphics worse than in AOC, that's something.

Consistent or inconsistent (inconsistent in this case) parallel worlds don't have anything to do with the meaning of life, so no existentialism. Why inconsistent? Because if parallel worlds existed, the seed that would start the difference between our worlds would've changed the courses of the universes and all lives thousands of years ago. In a parallel world there would be no Booker, no Elizabeth, no same people would've married other people, resulting in a completely different population, etc. In a parallel world there wouldn't be a single person with the same face, same history, same name, there would be no same place, etc. I can't say that this game explored any theme other than sexuality and MAYBE (a big big maybe) the role of men in the lives of women (fathers who want to cage them, make them into someone else... husbands who want to free them from their father only to force them to go somewhere they don't want to go... and finally husbands falling in love with them and letting them decide where to go, and just going with them).

It's exactly the same here. This game is better than porn, for a day I got to feel like I had a love story going on with a hot petite brunette. You can't do this, game devs, you have manipulated my genitals! Now about bad things. I took 2 days off work to play it. Finished it in one. ONE?? ONE??!!?! Next time make a game for 5 hours, why don't you. The ending??? OH MY GOD. I JUST WANTED TO TAKE HER TO PARIS AND DIP MY BAGUETTE INTO HER CREME BRULE. Now what did I get instead? Kafka all over the place, unhappy ending, butthurt? Thanks, but I never asked for this.

@Oner Yes, all of them (even some asian mmos like aion), except DDO, which I bought, but never brought myself to play it after watching a few gameplay videos. GW2 would require a long explanation, but in the end you'd be convinced. @alanschu It's like a debate of whether a clone of a person is a distinctive person or not. Most would say it starts being a distinctive person when it starts living its own life, therefore gaining its own unique experience and thus becoming distinct. Well those mmos aren't even trying to live their own life, so yeah, sorry. It's not about winning, I'm just stating my opinion. Don't take it so seriously :3

If they all follow the same model and don't dare trying anything new, they're clones, not separate mmos. What does it matter who puts what money in which pocket. Some studios are sharing parts of the same audience between them, that's not mmo talk, that's marketing talk. If you want to talk MMO, talk MMO.

Wow was great during vanilla and TBC. Then it became a game for 8 year olds. Eve is great, but not for my taste. SWTOR is an okayish single player game that you play online. Secret world is the same thing, except it's not even okayish. GW2 is not worth considering as a game. Age of Conan also. Lotro also. DDO - are you kidding me? Bloodline champions is basically a moba game with no creeps. It's got nothing to do with MMO. Now, there's AO that you forgot, and it's still a good MMO. There's like 4-5 viable MMOs right now, most of them are mediocre at best, others are great, but not for my taste. And now out of the blue comes the possibility of a completely new one AND with original ideas. Great, count me in.

Brian never had any luck with screenshots. I'm fine with it, whatever, it's just that it's the last 4 days, you should be helping people to make the right choice to pledge, and instead you give them an unfinished, unpolished, hurried screenshot. The right part of it is completely messed up.

There was no hand holding in Planescape Torment. Even the times when you assisted/guided npcs on their personal journey to less-brokeness, it was very much optional, far from having a whining Alistair forced onto you and took more the form of discovering a neat new facet. In fact, I remember actually wanting and waiting with excitement for some of my NPCs to talk to me. But they talked oh so little for my tastes.

About that Kenzie campaign or however her name is spelled.. You might hear the society is equal, but don't believe everything you're told. Women and children are saved first in hostage situations for a reason. It's in our genes to protect the females and the offspring, care for them, etc. And kickstarter administration are just people. My guess is - they're either simply more into this kind of thing (awwwwwww how cute, a girl campaign) or they have they own daughter "who is just like her", and so they just can't get it into their skull that it's in breach of their own rules. But let's not forget that you will have to deal with this bull feces your whole life in a lot of places, so don't think it reflects badly on crowdsourcing or kickstarter. It reflects badly on humans, is all. We haven't evolved into mind flayers yet or anything. Race: human. Racial penalty: -2 to intellect.

Why did they change the world completely? The world has been destroyed many times over and they just traveled to another one in a spaceship. But in homm5 they just erased everything, dropped all the heroes I knew from the previous games, dropped everything from a to z, made up a generic world with generic heroes and it was a spit in the face of all the fans as I saw it. The mechanics aren't difficult to port on a new visual engine, there's no achievement in that, but what they did to the story/world was an abomination.

Obsidian? That's some fantasy in real life. It'll most likely be some shady russian company of three people - Ivan the programmer and Igor the designer and Mitrofan the janitor, not unlike the company that did the heroes 5.
