Yes, it's very easy...go to your movies folder make a backup of your say trailer.bik and then copy MalMov10.bik as Trailer.bik and then run the game go to the movies and play the trailer...it will now play Kreia's movie.

ONDERON - Sky Ramp - Stuck!
BlackJaguar replied to BlackJaguar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well that's what happened to me; there is an NPC soldier there that tried to break the barrier with a sword and that's probably causing me trouble. I tried breaking the force field with my lightsaber as well as mines (T3) but it didn't work and I got that message about using Bao-Dur. I do have a save before the whole mission so I have decided to replace T3 with Bao-Dur hopefully I should be on my way. Thanks everyone for your input... -
ONDERON - Sky Ramp - Stuck!
BlackJaguar replied to BlackJaguar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well there are two "towers" on the higher level, barraks and turret tower. The barraks has only workbench in it. Turret Tower has a terminal. I was able to use the turret to attack some enemy fighters. I think I was able to disable one force field with the Terminal (I don't rember exactly) but now the terminal only has two options: 1. [Compter] Access other systems. 2. Logout. If I choose 1. I get the following message from the system "All secondary systems disabled by remote admin" and then I'm back to the main meny. Now what -
Hi, I seems to be stuck on Onderon - Sky Ramp (I'm on the quest to save Queen Talia); it's the second force field I can't seems to be able to pass through it. I tried using T3 with mine to blast the force field but I can't seems to be able to do it. A message pops up when I try to attack the force field with a melee weapon that I should use Bao-Dur but the game won't allow me to change NPCs right now... Any options ? thanks for your help

Major Issues That Need Fixing ASAP
BlackJaguar replied to Master Dahvernas's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Since we have a similar setup, I decided to do some digging around in device manager and found that my primary IDE channel was running in PIO mode instead of DMA...well, I uninstalled the primary IDE chan. and rebooted and now I am running at ultra DMA mode 6. Somehow I think that will make a huge difference. PIO is so slow!! Just to answer your questions....I have a 60 gig HD with 47 gigs free. I run nothing in the background when I am playing. AMD Sempron 2600+, 512gb 333ddr, sb live! 5.1, GeForce FX5500 256mb 8x, MSI kt4a-v with the latest drivers. xp pro sp2 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well changing your IDE channel from PIO mode to DMA should help a lot and should pretty much resolve your problem. If you have two HDs I would put windows swap file on non-game HD that should help as well. -
Major Issues That Need Fixing ASAP
BlackJaguar replied to Master Dahvernas's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
OK in that case, it's a game bug. I probably did not encounter it with the Nvidia because I failed to complete fixing the airspeeder...got invited by the Exchange too soon for that game. As for the saving bit, sorry but I don't notice any lag while doing that on both Nvidia and ATI. Could be a hard disk thingy as I'm running on SATA drives. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmm...I don't have this problem. Two days ago I reinstalled KOTOR2 and applied 1.0b patch. I have two SATA hard disks and I have no slowdowns even after savings. I'm also playing on 1280x1024 AA x4 and Anisotropic filtering set to x8. AMD XP 2700+, 1GB 333DDR, SB Audigy 2, Asus nForce 2 Ultra MSI FX 5950 Ultra (71.89 drivers) Windows XP Pro + SP2 How much memory you have ? Are you running anti-virus in background ? Perhaps too many services are running as well...just of top of my head -
Is it possible to have KOTOR1 original 3D portraits in KOTOR2 ? is there some kind of utility that would allow me to do that ? I prefer KOTOR1 male and female portraits... Thanks!

Actually as previously stated, the music and movies were too big to include in this patch and will be released in a second patch in a few days. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank You very much guys for the patch and I'm also looking forward to the second patch for the movies and music. Keep up the good work, for the time you guys had to developer KOTOR2 you did a great job, please don't give up Thanks again!

Radeon 7500 Graphics Card, Help!
BlackJaguar replied to VaderMonkey323's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
One thing You could try is to get the latest ATI driver and see how it goes. However I have a feeling that 7500LE is an old hardware for KOTOR 2; btw does your card work in KOTOR 1 ? Looking at the Troubleshooting guide.rtf that comes with KOTOR2 - ATi 7500 series not listed as supported...my feeling is that 7500 series doesn't have "Hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L) Capability" - this feature is required in KOTOR2 (and KOTOR1 I believe). Looking at the list of Nvidia hardware even going back to GeForce 2 - even this card supports T&L in hardware. KOTOR1&2 is using modified version of Neverwinter Nights 3D engine which was designed around nVidia GeForce 2 and up hardware. Also I believe 7500 is a fixed feature set GPU no vertex and pixel shader support this is also a must for KOTOR2. -
I started with Baldur's Gate before that I was playing wargames. strategy, simulators and FPS only. Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 2 + TOB System Shock 2 Torment <- best PRG for me ever Icewind Dale 1 & 2 (not sure if qualifies) Neverwinter Nights KOTOR 1 KOTOR 2 (waiting for the patch before I continue) I'm looking forward to Neverwinter Nights 2 and KOTOR 3...

My impressions after a day of non-stop play
BlackJaguar replied to Thalandor's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, I'vot an amd xp2000+ and a geforce fx 5950 ultra and everything set at the maximum (1280*1024). It is good looking even though it isn't HL2, makes you wonder how NWN would have been if it had been out a year later. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Same here: I got AMD XP 2700+ (@2.3Ghz); 1GB 33DDR and MSI FX 5950 Ultra and I play KOTOR 1 & 2 in 1280 x 960 at 75Hz. I have the graphics maxed out and I use anisotropic 8x and AA 4x and I got no slow downs at all. Perhaps ATi hardware is not supported well... -
Couldn't agree more!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah same here, couldn't wait to get the hell out of there...kind of like horror movie I'm having great time except those damn bugs, I hate when the game crashes in the middle of the dialog...

I could be wrong but it seems to me the music directory in KOTOR2 is about 36MB so hopefully Obsidian will release an "option" pack for 48khz music files. If not perhaps we can make one from XBOX version (assuming xbox version has 48khz music). I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed with this one; this is not the Black Isle I used to know...

Well looks there is something wrong with the swoop racing; In the first world there were 3 racers with 3 diffferent times on the first try I beat the first two guys and I got no money for it. So then later on I beat all 3 but all I got was some lousy $ 300 not worth the effort <_<

It seems once in a while my computer would reboot when I used Anti-Aliasing x4; I have turned off AA and mo more reboots...weird. I can't stop playing....great game.
-
I don't agree....KOTOR 2 is using the same engine as KOTOR 1; the interface is a bit different (larger buttons etc) but I wouldn't call it console based. Everything looks bland and low res ?? What have you been smoking...the textures are better sometimes much better...definitelly a step up from KOTOR1. My system specs: AMD XP 2700+ 1GB 333DDR MSI NBOX FX 5950 Ultra; ForceWare 66.93 driver I'm playing KOTOR 2 on 1280x960 with Anisotropic filtering 8x and AA 4x and it looks really good!
