  1. I have to go with the crowd on this one. Although I prefer BG1 style density over BG2 style, something closer to the middle is preferable. Maybe a bit slanted toward BG1.
  2. It was overly obvious before, now it's down to just obvious to me. All proportions as well as facial features scream female to me.
  3. While this is obviously a matter of taste, do you really think it's that bad? It's not like it's an enormous change or anything. Just a change to a more subtle, but still bulging shape. Honestly, and this is not meant to be offensive, but I'm struggling to believe that you're being serious. Again, I realize it's different tastes and all that but that is such an incredible exaggeration. Do you honestly mean that you cannot tell the sex of the character? Honestly?
  4. I suppose you're right. Might be a bit of a hassle. I think Baldur's Gate handled appearance good. With commoners dressing very modestly and covered up, while some adventurers/special npcs had more revealing outfits, although never quite slutty. I would personally be satisfied with something like that. Perhaps with a bit more variety though.
  5. There's a difference, though, between enjoying looking at the opposite sex (or even enjoying being looked at by the opposite sex) and being required to dress a character in a game in skimpy clothes because that's the only option you've been given. Note I'd say the same about ridiculously spiky armor that would have you spiking yourself in the head if you tried to raise your arm slightly; given that there is a limit to how much they can design I'd rather them look at the stuff that's the most utilitarian, which would be reasonable looking clothes and armor. For the PC yeah...have options(including bulky and skimpy and in-between), but for NPCs there should be a mixture of styles from across all levels. I am really not into the whole "ban skimpy battle dresses from the game". I think it should be based on common sense (as I've stated before). That way there will be both revealing and modest outfits in the game depending on what character. Like a warrior that focuses on agility and offense could have less clothing on for example. Or prostitutes, succubi etc. Maybe revealing outfits could give bonuses to persuasion? Seducing? Normal npcs should be dressed.....well normal in my opinion. Edit: Maybe climate could be a factor too.
  6. If you say so. I doubt it's "extreme" minority but whatever. And again, feminine is more than just boobs. The armor is plenty female in the concept of PE.
  7. Sorry, those squigles do not help. It can still be a guy in drag, the only thing that even hints at a woman is the makeup, remove that and there is no difference. There isn't much boobs there to highlight, its in a V shape for the upper body (post boob area) is way to subtle and barely noticeable unless your paying attention. Now, when they are turned to sprites you will not see them AT ALL and all of them will most likely look like the same as a male or female unless all the guys have beards which I hope they are NOT going to do for every guy. A guy in drag could wear a boobplate too you know.
  8. I would like the armor and weapon design in PE to be based on real world armors and weapons, with some slight fantasy touch added. Nothing over the top. More extravagant designs are ok for magical stuff though but still within reason.
  9. Subjective opinion. What's sexy/attractive differs from person to person. Some like more covered up, others the opposite. Regardless, there are still times when it doesn't make sense.
  10. Very possible. Although I don't see what good looks has got to do with the discussion. And anyway, I'm just voicing my very own personal opinion. Not anyone elses. Kinda hard to tell a character is good looking if they look exactly the same as a dude in full plate. Yes if the face is covered it would be kind of hard to see if the character is good looking. But that doesn't change if you add boobs to the armor. Sure the sex becomes more apparent, but she could still look like an old crone in the face. If the face isn't covered, then the sex and possible attractivness of the character would still be apparent, even if the armor isn't obviously female. Also as pointed out by others, there are way to make armor look feminine without boobplates. The female form is much more than breasts.

  12. I think you've missed the basic point about this discussion. It's about the "over" part. Exaggerated sexuality that doesn't make any sense. Heavily slanted towards one gender. Heavily slanted toward the demographic that buys these games? Heaven forbid. I think you'll find that there are plenty of women into video games nowdays. Especially RPGs.

  14. It's funny how controversial this subject seems to be to some people. I'm one of the people who are very tired of the oversexualization of women in video games, because it usualy makes little sense. It is very one dimensional. Unimaginative etc. It is fine for sexy characters. For example succubi or prostitutes. But as default, no thank you. Personally, I want diversity. Both it appearance and personality. I want beautiful, pretty, plain, ugly and hideous characters of both genders. Having plain looking people will also enhance the beautiful as well as the ugly. Which is awesome in my opinion. So there, that's my 2 cents. No politics needed.
