There is much backup for the fact that 5.56mm lacks stopping power and penetration. Under the right circumstances, it does tumble and fragment within the body causing substantial tissue damage. But the human body is not a block of soap(what commonly used to test ammo behaviour within bodies) and so that is not always true. But forget that and look to the hard facts; the 5.56mm is a very small and light bullet traveling at high speed, this means that the amount of kinetic energy transferred into the target at impact is relatively small. This is the scientific explanation of stopping power. A large heavy bullet traveling at less speed(like a .45) transfers many times more kinetic energy into the target. The 5.56mm will punch a hole in the target but it will not give off anywhere near the energy to knock a man off his feet or even shock him. Depenging on circumstances, the person hit will usually have enough time to return fire before succumbing to the effects of the internal damage. Police all over the world have similar problems with the 9mm, thats why the FBI ordered special custom 10mm SMG's and why theres so many hollow-point variations, to add stopping power. And regarding penetration; the 5.56mm fragments or tumbles and halts when hitting a wall or a tree, this is why SWAT and similar uses M4s an other 5.56 weapons, because it decreases the risk of civilians being hit through walls or from ricochets. It does however pierce body armour qite well depending on the ammo used. A 7.62x51mm will go through walls, trees, sandbags, cars, and most body armour. I read something about a SEALs comment on why he used an old M14 "with this I can hit enemies behind trees". I wish I knew more useful things instead of having my head full of this garbage :">

Im having loads of fun with the character editor, my plan was to play the game as female(becasue.. I leik girls) but set the gender to male so I get those story options. But the question is if its the same boolean/node/flag/whatever that regulates gender in dialouge that controls story options? There is an option to set gender to "both" but I have no clue what this would do. ..and Im trying to find Yuthura Ban in the character list but I cant, she's not listed under unique or twi'lek every other character from both games seems to be there. EDIT: found her cataloged as "BanU"

The only anti-material rifle in the AW line is the .50 version, which is very rare. The AWSM uses the more powerful .338 LM ammunition for increased range and accuracy over the 7.62mm. It is primarily an anti-personel weapon. It was launched after the Swedish military had made the PSG90 its standard sniper rifle so we dont use it. The brits do though, theyve named it the L115A1. The fault of the 5.56mm is that it has no stopping power and very little penetration capacity compared to the 7.62mm. US soldiers in Somalia during the BHD incident were quite surprised that most their enemies kept running and shooting at them even with multiple hits to the torso. Someone hit by a 5.56 will be able to function normally until his internal organs fail from the damage, something that can take anywere from minutes to hours. My MG friend told me that an officer got wounded in the buttock during an exercise but he didnt even notice he was hit, it was not until after several minutes that he noticed as the pain kicked in. The 7.62 will drop the target instantly and it has no problem penetrating soft cover. But only a small percentage of soldiers in wars die from bullets and given the fact that you can fight longer with more ammo, the 5.56mm makes perfect sense. You can keep the enemy pinned until artillery or armoured support arrive to finish them off.

I found a recruit Yuthura Ban K2 mod :D it replaces Hk47 and it says it has dialouge and lipsync. To what I wonder? Well, Im using it no matter what.

"bullpup" only means the configuration with the magazine&mechanism being placed behind the trigger and grip. and the FN 2000 is in cal 5.56mm NATO whose unmetric name is .223* dont they teach you anything in that army of yours? :D *some people say that there are minute differances between NATO 5.56mm and civilian .223 Rem that makes it unstable/difficult/dangerous to use the military ammo in civilian rifles.

Yes it is (only the caliber differs a little), and you've clearly played way too much CS if you recognize it from there. the AWSM fires the much more powerful and accurate .338 Lapua Magnum round that is much smaller size 8.60x70mm vs the 12.7x99 (.50 BMG). It is the perfect extreme range anti-personel round as the .50 BMG is an anti-material round and less accurate due to the lack of match grade ammo available. As can be seen here, its ballistic range characteristic is near that of the .50 BMG And it packs one hell of a punch compared to standard 7.62(.308)

I was toying with the idea of trying to replay K2 and I was wondering if there are any community mods that are worth checking into? Especially content mods/addon like new heads, robes etc. I did find something that supposedly helps yo go through Peragus in 15min, heard of it?
