I thought up some guidelines for using IRC to play. Guidelines that will make it easier for both Ender and the rest of us to understand what is going on. Please have a look and tell me what you think. -Use the "/me" command when taking an action you want everyone to notice but use some sort of marker such when it is an action that requires the GM's attention. Example: *Valerie lights another cigarette *Valerie attempts to grip the man by his collar and throw him against the wall (ACT) -Always use " quote markers when you character says something. To make it easier to see what you are actually saying. <Player> "Really? I just bought it at Marks&Spencers." What does the desk clerk look like? -When adressing a certain player, start your post with his name. <Player> Angelo: I take of my wrist watch to show you the engraving "Does this mean anything to you?" What do you think? using the "/me" command might be a little confusing when you want to take complex actions so Im not sure about using it for teling the GM what youll do this round.

The reason why countries like China, India etc. have prospered economicly in the recent years is solely because they offer western companies cheaper means of production, mostly through cheap labour. Once the standards and wages of their societies rise to the point when it is no longer profitable for foreign companies to outsource to these countries, they will move elsewhere. And the economy of the country will decline very rapidly.

Well, just from the basic standpoint there are two major reasons why a western goverment engages in non-defensive military action abroad 1. To secure economical interests in the region 2. To secure political interests in the region to ensure a more prosperous economical climate that domestic companies can benefit from.

it's not brainwashing, its "necessary illusions" There are very strong antidemocratic forces at work in the US, among them the current goverment and their corporate sponsors, but there are also strong democratic forces so its wrong to say its all rotten.
