  1. He just wanted the ring back. I'm sure falling into lava and saving the world didnt enter into his head.
  2. What Gandalf said isnt important. Lets look at the two characters. Frodo - carries the ring. It's not bound to him, other people can pick it up. If he dies (like in Cirith Ungol) someone else can wander over to the cracks of doom and drop the ring in. It dosnt have to be Frodo. Aragorn. Scion of the kings of old, King of Arnor and Gondor. Wielder of Narsil reforged. etc. etc. Only Aragorn can do those things. No one else can. Thats what makes him a chosen one and Frodo not. Frodo is just the best fit at the time. Not a chosen one.
  3. Yes to leave the caves. It wasnt intended that Bilbo specifically find it or that it would be handed down to Frodo. Who found the ring wasnt important. It just wanted out of the caves where it could have some better material to work with.
  4. Sam took the ring when Frodo "died" which dosnt make Frodo a chosen one. Only those without power could resist the ring and not become corrupted (in the end Frodo was anyway). Which is why Gandalf and Galadriel refused it. There is nothing specific to Frodo. The only chosen one in LOTR is Aragorn. He is most definately a chosen one.
  5. Why did it take Sauron 50 years (after Bilbo found it) to track down the one ring ? And neither Bilbo or Frodo are chosen ones. A chance event does not mean that a character is the chosen one.
  6. Could always ignore it and hope it gets lost in the system.
  7. It's more like Suikoden where some poor sod gets stuck with a great rune and then everyone chases after them because of it. To be a chosen one only you can complete whatever the task is. However if the PC were to die anyone could take the shard and continue to guard it.
  8. Seen the DS version of Harvest Moon where you have to pull the cows udders using the stylus ?
  9. Advent Children. It was good , although I prefer the anime. I did like what they did with the characters, although watching it I couldnt help but feel the game was missing.
  10. But in K2 you were definately a bit odd. It wasnt just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You were the last known Jedi and you had those unique powers. It's quite possible to be a chosen one and not know it. Like in Bards Tale, or HotU.
  11. Takes a while to gather your party. It really depends if you explore, or you just head straight from one location to the next in order.
  12. Unless you turn out to be in that position for some reason. Then your just some poor guy in the wrong place. It may turn out that way. Like in HoTU where you end up the chosen one by default.
  13. Name one I'm curious. Half way is a huge exageration. It's more like a tenth.
  14. gamefaqs dont like you linking directly to them.
  15. By worthwhile do you mean short ?
  16. I dont think there is a hard fast rule for rate of leveling. It depends what else you have to do beyond gaining levels. If you have a fully controlled party, then you probably dont need levels quite so quickly because you already have plenty of variety. With a single character levels are the only thing you have to open up more combat options (and prevent it getting stale).
  17. I do , with the odd exception. But whether or not I would replay it, well thats a different matter. Well he probably played it long enough to actually unlock some skills.
  18. In a CRPG that mostly means hitting the reload button. My favourite levels are 5-12 your not really going to die just from one unlucky roll. But at the same time you still have plenty of "normal" things that can challenge the character or party. After 15 I tend to lose interest and want to settle down (and make a new character) , and I dont like epic levels at all.
  19. Another two from some obscure polish company. A short press release from relatively obscure Polish developer Nibris indicates that the company has signed with a publisher, and is working on a Revolution game entitled Sadness, which will be displayed purely in black and white, with a

  21. It had a thread a couple of weeks ago. I came across these reading NOM. Still if people want to post overviews of any revolution games they have heard of that would be a good use for the thread
