  1. you can't one hit anything in a JRPG, well you can but only if you are a high enough level.
  2. i just hope they don't use experience scaling, this ruined pokemon:B&W for me because i was getting 100 exp from level 60 pokemon because i had a 75 pokemon which needed 50k+ experience.
  3. dude ni no kuni, it has a great story, interesting combat, and filled with everything i love about JRPG's. The Yakuza games are interesting as well, it has a crime story kinda like GTA, has a fun real time combat system, and its very much a JRPG just set in modern day japan.
  4. i did use the search function ad i couldn't find any threads. ill look again i guess.
  5. i want to know, will my stronghold be totally customizable? like i spend money to build granaries, fortifications, building, and what not? and have it visible on screen. this is something i've wanted in a game, a much more fleshed out version of the homestead in AC2 and AC3, kinda a long the lines of xenoblade colony 6, but i spend money than obtain resources. though obtain resources should be an important part, like spend money on building a nearby mine for metals, which would unlock the black smith, and in turn unlock soldiers. i'm the kind of person that loves to spend a lot of time and money on this especially if it is entirely optional. pretty much how much level of freedom will i have to pick and choose? it would be interesting that if i wanted create a mage type town protected by a magical barrier instead of big walls, or i can combine the two as i see fit.
  6. you're right, we don't "need" but it we "want" it
  7. for me what gets me into any RPG, be it a Western or Japanese RPG, strong romance subplots are important to me. the reason is because that is where some great character building happens. i dont want some romance subplot with two outside character whom i help in some way or another but one where the player character is the center. though i understand that there are people who wouldn't care about this kind of thing but it could be included as an entirely optional character arc, just like a lot of story elements that will be included in the final game.
  8. well... the inclusion of cloth physics is something that needs to be addressed, because i hate it when characters have things like cloaks and what not passing through the character and or objects. it takes away from the believability.
  9. do you think you guys could include the medicine ball flail in the final project? as like a hidden joke weapon?
  10. i think i know of a compromise, make a Wii U version of the game. then we dont sacrifice on the user interface and it could potentially be played exclusively on the Wii U game pad if the demand was there for it... though i highly doubt it just i was thinking the stylus and touch screen would be great replacements for the mouse and keyboard.
  11. im not very big into western role play games, i prefer to sit through hours of interesting character development than boring gameplay. though im all for art in its many forms and i understand that even though its not my favorite genre ill still support it whole heartily because i love gaming. i support a lot games well mostly due to its artistic direction. if the game looks beautiful im more likely to play it as it is visually stimulating. that is the problem i have with game like elder scrolls, its all about how realistic they can everything to look and not how beautiful they can get it to look, pretty much i wish it had a larger color pallet. im not saying that skyrim didn't have its moments of utter jaw-dropping beauty, i dont know what it is called but go to the highest mountain in skyrim and look up and around. i came into this project thinking about where its artistic direction is gonna go, even if i never play the game for long i will be very satisfied with my purchase if it is a good game with great artistic direction
  12. what i want in project eternity is a deep and emotional story, involving the main party. you see the game i like to play focus the story on the characters, for example how the event effect the characters, and the characters grow over the course of the story, how they interact with each other, and how they help each other grow over the course of the story. i understand that WRPG's are more about learning every other character BUT the one you are playing, because that character is supposed to be you. i personally find this boring, because its the drama and the romance between the characters that helps me keep going. i don't think this idea would be implemented because I'm sure most players here are more interested in a baulders gate diablo 3 style game with a silent protagonist/party and you learn about everyone else, if this is true i will most likely never play the game (at least for very long) but i happily spent the money to support the kick starter because i feel that it will be a good game even if it isnt my cup of tea and i like to support the art form of video games.
