Can KOTOR 2 redefine the RPG genre?
KOTORFanactic replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It could do it, not a certainty, but it could do it. The story will play a big part in re-defining it. Alot depends on the quality of the story, which is KOTOR is anything to go by (and itt damn well is) then KOTOR2 could do it. -
To topic starter (Craigboy2) thx for that. Things have certainly changed since the last time Revan was there. The place is deserted. It looks like things are beginning to get overgrown. We know that Revan went a a stint to Korriban in between the 2 games. Could he have done something to make the place deserted, or did something more sinister happpen. Did one of the Sith Lords make the place a ghost town.

New Sith Lord = Darth Cheney?

Unless Obsidian have a problem (a bug, or something) then we PC and international Xbox ppl should see KOTOR2 by January or February. Patience; must... resist... urge... to... use...whip...on...devs..to...get...game..early. Later...means...better! (Not to late though Feb at latest)

The droid in the pic certainly is the exaC same shape as HK-47, but he is grey in colour. HK-47 is a brownish-red colour. So i doubt it is HK-47. It is problably a newer version of the HK model. I hav heard rumours of a HK-50. I aint sure where, but it might be in one of the magazine preveiw threads. Like i say, i dont know where i heard this.

Was Revan The True Sith Lord?
KOTORFanactic replied to kopolee13's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
These new Sith Lords could simply have come to power in the aftermath of KOTOR. I doubt Revan would ever take orders any others. Why would he need to. He is a tactical genius, bag loads of charisma, and a great duelist. At the very least, these new Sith Lords could simply have trained under Revan before KOTOR, and when the saw that they were the 3 most poweful Sith around after KOTOR, they saw there chance and took it in the aftermath of KOTOR. -
Definately the best pics so far. simply because they r bigger, and clear. Thx. Darth Nihilis looks to be the focus of the game from the looks of things.

Favorite KOTOR Woman (both games)
KOTORFanactic replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The lovely Bastila is the clear cut winner for me. Voice, looks, personality, she has it all. -
Keeping in mind that this theory was created with less info than we hav today. It was certainly a... inventive theory. Then, i found it a little farfecthed, and i do now. Certainly creative. I really hink that some jedi are hiding somewhere, and will return. If they didnt at some point or another, I aint sure how the plot would unfold without returning jedi. It wuld work still if the jedi didnt return, but i think they will return. Despite all the efforts of the sith over time (from KOTOR2 to past episode4,5,6 and beyond) they never seem able to wipe out every last jedi. some always seem to escape.

One problem with that. It toatlly cancels out the gender question of Revan at the beginning of the game. It also destroys half the game. what happened if u had a male Revan, who fell in love with Bastila. I beleive Revan will make a cameo at the mimnimum, but Revan is not Kreia. At least not in my eyes.

Most often I simply use my own name. Sometimes I use the name Danei Nexus

What u said. The maual and game is enough. any extra merchandize is unnecessary

I saw this at StarWarsKnights.Com forum
KOTORFanactic replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
and what gave u this idea. On topic With no links, and no quotations, I find the source to be lacking in crdibility. If it is true, it means great things for KOTOR2. Our first ever female Dark Lord of the Sith. -
Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
U R Wrong, if i didnt take the other side of the argument into consideration, they why do i make points for both Anakin and Bastila, pointing out there similarities, and differences. I simply beleive Bastila is superior in control, and other things. Many disagree, and I accpet that. But u just seem to be making random comments about nothing sometimes. Anyway. Anakin is very powerful, I do beleive that, but Bastila is very powerful aswell. I mean she learnt the 'rare' art of Battle Meditation at the age of 19-20 Anakin, advanced very very quickly aswell, from a boy of about 10, to a very powerful jedi padawan. Perhaps the reason they both fell to the darkside, was because they each became to powerful to quickly. -
Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
She is a game character. I love her in game terms. I aint as shallow as u, who brought this up in the first place. I accept arguments, and take them into consideration. I just counter them, just as GhostofAnakin counters mine. -
Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
And ppl think i do not produce cohesive arguments Anakin is more powerful in force terms true, but power is not only everything. What about smarts. Anakin dont seem 2 smart when he rushes into battle against Dooku. Bastila dont seem 2 smart when she rushes into battle against Malak either. But she seems to be more of a leader than Anakin, and seems like she could co-ordinate battles better than Anakin, even without her Battle Mediation -
Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I just read the KOTOR manual, and thx for correcting that little mistake. Anyway, Bastila is more balanced than Anakin, so she would use force powers to her advantage far more than Anakin. Here is something u r wrong at. If she got captured at every battle, i doubt she would be in the jedi order. At least this is true in the time before KOTOR. Plus, every time Anakin faces a battle, he seems to end up getting injured in some way. If Anakin had more control over his emotions, he would not fall so readily for Padme i do not think. there he seems to just throw jedi teachings out the window. true him and her reach an agreement to just ignore it, but they cant. I wont only mention one side of the argument, but the other aswell. Bastila and (male) Revan (be aware that i am only using this in terms of one way of doing the Bastila part of the game), absolutely hate each other at first. Eventually they grow very fond of each other, again they reject there feelings, at first, but eventually come together. We cannot be sure of how long Bastila suffered Malak's tortures, but in reallife terms, it could have been anywhere from 1week to 1month, perhaps longer. She resisted longer than most jedi masters could have lasted. Anakin resists in some sense for a long time aswell, but eventually succumbs aswell. -

Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What about Anakin, well, he cant even keep his lightsaber around, he keeps losing it, or damaging it. So he does lose his saber. He is in constant fights with Obi-Wan. Bastila at least does eventually admit that Revan is more powerful than her, and doesnt throw a wobbler bout it. She simply accepts it. -
Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, I am basing this on the movies and game. U will problably slant this as not real sources, or inadequate, but they do appear to be the best sources since most stuff on the inetrnet is garbage. I base my stuff on the game and movies. (i.e. supershadow.com I find most info on the internet either unreliable or it simply does not hav the info) Bastila is a Sentinel, which indicates that she has based herself to using force powers more in combat, and other things. Anakin appears to be a Guardian, since he rarely uses force powers at all in combat. Okay so he problably does hav superior force abilty, but he rarely uses it. Most ppl hav said that the only ability Bastila has is Battle Mediation. This is not true. If ths was true, would she really be a jedi at all. She has many other force powers, depending on hwo u hav her advance. In the movies (Ep2, and from the looks of thing Ep3) Anakin appears to lack control of his emotions. He appears to give in to them to easily. True Bastila lacks control aswell, i admit that, but she seems to be more machure and under control. This is her vital edge in my eyes. (If u find my sources of info to be inadequate etc, fine, i hav no problems with that at all. They r however, first hand sources, and r the main plaeces they appear) (Bastila in KOTOR, Anakin in movies) -
Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I admit it. Just simply as a games character. She is hot true, but at least I know that she is no more than pixels and drawings. She is perhaps the best designed female lead ever for a game, or perhaps even a movie, which is why i feel that so many r drawn to her. Anyway, if Anakin and Bastila were to face off, it would come down to a few things. Force ability, skills with a saber and Control. Both lack real control, but Bastila simply has more control than Anakin. Anakin is definately superior in saber skills, but Bastila is superior in force ability. So these 2 things might cancel each other out. -
Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
KOTORFanactic replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Could end up being the other way round, when Bastila has enough of Anakin's endless wobblers about 'i will be the most powerful jedi ever!'. Yet another reason that Bastila could kick Anakin's ass. She wouldn't even end up with Ani in the first place. She would go with my Revan. Bastila can easily beat Anakin. I mean, at least she dont hav wobblers about having another jedi being more powerful than her. -
The Guild of Calaminous Intent
KOTORFanactic replied to Laozi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The reason that your guys werent guarded on the Leviathan is because ur main guys Revan, Carth, Bastila, were in those tortue chambers. They could not break out of them without outside interference. To put it simply, the Sith on the Leviathan were overconfident and complacent.
