  1. I can't help but think of the Green/White Power Rangers talking sword. That aside, sure, I think that having distinctive weaponry can add something fun to a game. In a world where magic is relatively common, I don't see why not.
  2. The idea of a private backers forum made me smile, shake my head, and post this comment. Well done gents. Well done.
  3. Very much looking forward to the next update. I have been busily playing through BG:EE (with a dabbling of FTL). I've missed PC gaming and can't wait to get my hands on Project Eternity. Keep up the great work! ~WW
  4. I would love to join a BG2 online romp. I've been looking for a group for a while now. Please let me know if you'd like an additional companion!
  5. Disclaimer: I actually have no real issue with the idea. It's a little out there and unlikely but hey, whatever you're into. The pictures just made me laugh. I wanted to contribute.
  6. Do you remember making time capsules and burying them? You might stick a letter to your future self in them, maybe a few noteworthy items that might be representative of that time in history. If I was burying one today, I might include my old (and non-working) iPhone or an interesting newspaper article. I was recently the best man at a wedding and the couple nailed shut a box containing letters they each wrote to one another, along with a bottle of Champaign. They are supposed to open the box in 25 years, to remember why they married one another. Nice, right? This is sort of a long way of saying this: we may be in a different place in our lives when this game releases. A lot can change in a couple of years. I thought it might be interesting to jot some notes down about where we are in our lives now. Then, whenever Project Eternity releases, we look back at this thread, quote our brief write-up, and say what has changed (or has not changed). It might make a neat exercise! As an added bonus, you may get to know a bit more about your fellow backers and PE fans. For me, I was just married this year. I am working as a research associate for a non-profit in sunny Tampa. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in marketing along with a general MBA. From a gaming perspective, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of the enhanced edition of Baldur’s Gate. I have been playing a lot of Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Diablo III, and Starcraft II. I have a solid Dell XPS laptop, which can run most games decently well, but I would imagine this would be long gone in 2014 (hopefully). I am a big Yankees fan and I was crushed when Derek Jeter broke his ankle in game one of the ALCS against Detroit. I knew the series would be a tough one with the way the Yankees swung the bats against Baltimore, but I had no idea how bad it would be (lowest single postseason team batting average ever bad). I am hoping PE will be very much like the old Infinity engine games at its core, with a lot of great plot choices, dialogue options, and strong companion relationships (along with some nice combat and character building). I am interested in seeing what 2014 and Project Eternity brings.
  7. You should just break down and read the books :D While I agree the series is well done and interesting, it is still missing some things that the book series has. I actually started reading the books before I watched the show. They were recommended to me by a friend. I'm almost done with book four now. It's a lot slower of a read than book 3, which was a complete whirlwind of activity in the last few hundred pages. Just wait til you get to book 5 I have been reading the Song of Ice and Fire since Game of Thrones was released back in the mid 90's and had a friend who worked at a bookstore give me a first edition hardcover copy of the book. Ever since then, I have been in perpetual waiting for the next book to come out. Waiting for A Dance with Dragons was almost too much to bear lol I just read book 4 and 5 combined. Waiting for book five was quite an ordeal. And reading 4 and 5 combined makes it a lot easier to get back into that world. When you say combined, do you mean that the books were back-to-back in one bound copy? Or, were the chapters actually placed in relative chronological order from both four and five? I know that book four runs concurrently with book five, and it was split by POV due to length. But, I would really like to have read it in massive tome format, getting to see more of my favorites like Jon and Dany. I use a Nook (e-reader) so the size wouldn't bother me.
