  1. Hence why I have no issue with the lack of new stretch goal that some are bummed about. More money means more time to get things right. Nothing drives fans nuts more than an inconsistent world (i.e. Fallout 3 with the radiation immune companion and the forced self-sacrifice "good" ending) EDITED: added clarity to comment
  2. It appears to be a high quality pen, they don't want us getting away. :-P Made with high quality materials and completely finished before being sold to customers. A product you can be proud of.
  3. With that thought process: Modders can often improve basically every aspect of a game. Possible responses: 1. Can't they? 2. Can't they? (scarcasm) 3. Only if its a game pushed out into the world before its done 4. (stay silent)
  4. Welcome RaccoonTOF to the OO. Please wait over here in the holding pen with the rest of us nameless folks.
  5. So that's how they make the backgrounds. But no more stretch goals...oh well. More Management Reserve it is then.
  6. Also This! Well, to be fair, Obsidian does have a reputation. And now we get to see if the reputation is deserved or not.
  7. Be warned, I am a weremarshmallow. Everyone who bites me will turn into a weremarshmallow him/herself too Weremarshmallow? Now that I would love to see in-game. Also would work well in Wasteland 2 (due to radiation exposure)
  8. Some content may be cut during the Beta due to tester feedback. Some cut during the design stage. Some cut and pushed back to the expansion. While OE doesn't have a publisher breathing down their necks, they do have a lot of people wanting to play the final version of P:E at some point. I'm not expecting no cuts, but I'm not expecting KOTOR2 levels either.
  9. Hey Fluffle... what is it like being a yummie piece of sugar that everyone wants to eat?
  10. You mean putting together a triology with an amazing story in the first two singleplayer focused games You've lost me here. I actually like the story of the first two games, and a lot of the sci-fi philosophy in ME generally. What I don't like is the dumbed down dialogue options (top right - you are a good guy, bottom right - you are a renegade badass! Same as DA2, altough you could also be sarcastic with the middle right there), the limited free roaming, the combat in general (take cover or suffer) and some other stuff. I just got more and more "renegade" with the Council as the game went on. "What do you mean you don't believe me?!?! Are you blind?" With P:E I have hope of better dialog options. Maybe even with notes on the tone of the dialog option (i.e. Sarcastic: My plan is to just charge straight in). Now that would be cool.
  11. You mean putting together a triology with an amazing story in the first two singleplayer focused games You've lost me here. We're waxing about the good days of Bioware and Mass Effect before EA sucked their soul out. It was in progress during ME2, really obvious in DA2, and complete in ME3. Hopefully it will be reincarnitated in another company.
  12. You mean the 10$ DLC that took me roughly 4 hours to play through (I never play new concent very fast) and offered me pretty much zero replayability? It certainly made me quite exited when OE used the term "expansion" instead of "DLC". Altough in fairness, the OWB for FO:NV was a DLC, and an awesome one as well. And OWB helped a) flesh out the world, 2) provide unexpected character development (I have backstory? Cool!!), and iii) worked well either during the main game or after Hover Dam. Not all DLC is bad and I consider the FO:NV DLC to be more like mini-expansions.
  13. You can't choose your RL family...or your OO family. Both will cause facepalms
  14. You mean putting together a triology with an amazing story in the first two singleplayer focused games, and then decides to focus a ton on the previously non-existant multiplayer part of the game, giving the players the least epic ending in the entire triology: the colourful choice of red, green and blue? Even after the DLC. That game made me hate multiplayer in CRPGs so badly that I actually saw the "no multiplayer" in P:E as a huge pro. Sad but true. Yep. Reading an article on the newest DLC (epic adventure and content that doesn't mean a thing!!) for it pissed me off so much that I went from the $140 tier to the $750.
  15. We have as much power and influence as a resonable, well documented argument to why something in the Beta (for those who have access to it) either works or doesn't. Anything else is just observations based on our various experiences with different game systems and how they handle things like XP or health/stamina. For me, game mechanics that I don't agree with are not going to ruin P:E, a unsatistifing plot ending that seems tacked on will. Sorry...ME3 still grates and was even more disappointing to me than the Star Wars prequels.
  16. My only demand (and its sooooooo small) is that P:E doesn't have an ending like Mass Effect 3.
  17. Far, far too much. $788. Wife not happy. And if Obsidian adds any last second stretch goals, I don't know if anyone has any money left to pledge.
  18. Greetings all!!! Continue about your business. deamon451 - Lap Cat of the Obsidian Order
