  1. You see a nationalist symbol, I see a loyal citizen paying fealty to the Imperium of Man:
  2. Were this a sketch on "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" this would be the move the blatant KGB mole with a 10-gallon hat secured over the Ushanka his head with scotch tape would pull in front of the cameras to try and deflect suspicion off of him.
  3. Well if you'd like to be pedantic the commonly accepted "end" to the Great War was 11 November 1918, or the day the armistice went into effect. The actual peace treaty would be signed in June of 1919, and fully put into effect the following year.
  4. Well in light of Human Revolution one wishes that there was at least one other quest hub that was drastically different from Prague, and not just going through it at three different times of the day.
  5. Along with allowing the Stars and Stripes to fly alongside the DPRK flag his claim to love the American flag like no other rings especially hollow.
  6. We may have left the commies and the nazzis back in Moscow, but there will always be squatting track pants-wearing bandits to sucker punch and mug for their ammo wherever we go.
  7. Nobody is and yet people have been praising it for the last three years. Well the impression I'm getting is that there's some form of Souls-ish respawn and retry mechanic, with Kojima coming up with some contrived plot point explaining how that works in-universe, something at least 99.98% of Souls fans thought went perfectly fine without being explained.
  8. Metro: Exodus continues to look great. Cyberpunk 2077 looks interesting, though as said before hopefully there's a character creator. Disappointed at the lack of a new Splinter Cell, given all the developments of the past few months (that Ghost Recon DLC, interviews with Michael Ironside, and the tentative Walmart release date announcements). Bummed that Warhammer: Chaosbane wasn't demoed at the PC Gamer event. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice certainly has my attention, though was somewhat let down by From not announcing a new Armored Core. Hopefully Control isn't a PS4 exclusive. Still not 100% clear on what Death Stranding is.
  9. I'm reminded of a story when Ehud Olmert was having lunch with the recently departed Philip Roth:
  10. Seems like the TES VI announcement is a sign that Bethesda is breaking out of their alternating between a TES and Fallout games cycle with a 2 1/2-4 year wait between releases. Maybe they've turned into a multi-project studio. Here's hoping the game has a legit character creator, since the trailer "protagonist" isn't exactly doing anything for me.
  11. Looking forward to: More footage of Metro: Exodus to tide me over to its new release date in 2019 Hoping for: Splinter Cell sequel directed by Clint Hocking and being a return to Chaos Theory form. Intrigued by: The new Tomb Raider, and finally finding out what the hell Cyberpunk 2077 actually entails.
  12. This tweet in response to the news of Top Gun 2 commencing filming gave me a laugh:
  13. I remember towards the end of last year when in my "Youtube Recommends" there was a video (which I did not watch) titled "Where's TES VI?" to which I said "You guys realise that Fallout 4 came out not all that long ago? And that the space between Bethesda releases it generally around four years, right?"
  14. https://twitter.com/ScottFrazier19/status/999977971598413824 Apart from the shocking breach of protocol, I couldn't help but notice Trump's posture at the end with his short arms hanging forwards and his butt jutting out. It's like a pose only the political cartoonists could ever conjure up.
  15. Not something I'm playing, but I found this accompanying Bingo card for the Super Best Friends' playthrough of Detroit humorous nonetheless (link rather than image posted since it contains some profanity and I can't be bothered to swab over the offending word in Paint and upload the censored version onto Imgur): https://imgur.com/a/lxchoBW Still, I actually had a somewhat positive opinion of Heavy Rain (although that's about where my experience with Quantic Dream games ends), as I actually found segments of it genuinely tense in an enjoyable way:
  16. Looks like we're in for a Boba Fett: A Star Wars story. A shame they probably can't bring in Tameura Morrison for it. He was one of the few things I found enjoyable about Attack of the Clones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sehm7hcV100
  17. Philip Roth, the man whom for my money is in top three of best American writers, has died at age 85. https://www.newyorker.com/books/double-take/philip-roth-in-the-new-yorker?mbid=social_twitter He had wholly retired from writing after Nemesis in 2010, but still his death among the many since 2016 is the one that hits me hardest.
  18. Speaking of which, strong episode tonight. Idle thoughts:
  19. Rather interesting RAND research memo from 1954, which I found to be as relevant to the US President as the "Lost Boys" who drive trucks into crowds, shoot up schools, and bomb concerts:
  20. Was hoping people who bought the Wood Elves DLC would get an Ariel freebie so that all three Elf factions got their own Mage Queens.
