  1. King Crimson is a bit of an anomaly when you try to judge them. If you look at them from a strictly commercial view, I guess they are a failure, since they never made it big, except during the very brief period when prog was mainstream during the mid 70s, and even then they were overshadowed by Yes, ELP, Rush, etc. On the other hand, the band garnered a cult following that still persists and gathers new members 50 years after their inception because they have always explored weird aspects of music most bands wouldn't dare to approach, or wouldn't even know how to begin to approach, and they have outlived most of the superstar bands that came and went during their tenure.
  2. That Battlefield V trailer deserves not 1, not 2, but 3 eyerolls.
  3. My condolences, Epaminondas. I hope your family stays strong through this and your wife recovers fully.
  4. Celtics D was stout tonight. They jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Cavs couldn't get anything going offensively.
  5. Today was my first day driving a tractor trailer on the road, I drove for 4 hours. I was nervous at first, but it turned out to be a lot easier than I anticipated. I made mistakes, of course, but overall I drove well. My instructor, who is the owner of the school, was impressed and said I could have passed the road test if I took it today. First I have to log 15 more road hours, then my actual road test is next Wednesday. The best tip my instructor gave me was not to grip the shifter firmly, instead move it with just the tips of my fingers. It's surprising how easily it goes into gear when you have the engine and road speed lined up correctly. Upshifting is easy. Downshifting is a bit trickier, but not as hard as I anticipated. Driving that huge truck felt good. Real good.
  6. November makes more financial sense, that way they tap into the entire holiday shopping season.
  7. Well, at least it seems a lot closer to the old Sierra classics than the 2 games Activision put out some 15 or so years ago (1 was okay the other was horrific). The old Larry formula was simple: Larry meets attractive woman. Larry finds out what she desires. Larry attempts to get what she desires. Hilarious antics ensue. The key is to get the humor and hilarious antics right.
  8. Now THAT was an exciting game. Kudos to the Rockets for digging deep to get that one.
  9. Passed my backing test with a perfect score. :D
  10. It was at least a somewhat more exciting game to watch than the 30 and 40 point blowouts we've been getting lately.
  11. I'm deep into the tutorial of American Truck Simulator. Today I did my pre-trip inspection test and passed with a perfect grade (I would have been happy with any passing grade). Tomorrow I do my backing test, it's the last thing standing between me and getting on the road in a tractor trailer. Once I pass my backing test (I'm very confident) I then have to drive a minimum of 19 hours on the road (with an instructor, of course) before I can take my final test, the road test.
  12. Steph Curry got his swagger back. If this wasn't just an outlier and his shot is back for good then the Rockets are ****ed.
  13. Okay, that's got to be one of the biggest playoff blowouts ever, right? 41 points, yikes!
  14. The rest of the Cavs finally showed up for a game. Now we have a series on our hands.
  15. When you open up a pictures of your games thread and you have to scroll 2/3 of the page up before you find any game screenies: Anyway, for a party of 6 I tend to go 2 tanks 2 healers 1 mage 1 rogue/bard/utility/jack of all trades. I will change that a bit here and there, but 2 healers is pretty much written in stone with a party of 6.
  16. I know that Steph Curry is still recovering from injury and knocking the rust off, but he's borderline more liability than contributor right now. I feel the Dubs need to keep playing him so that he can work himself back into game shape, but Steve Kerr needs to find a better way to hide him on the defensive end, because the Rockets are coming at him every chance they get and he's getting torched.
  17. JR Smith definitely deserved that chant. What he did to Al Horford was borderline ejection worthy. Not that it would have mattered since he did **** all that game.
  18. Well, LeBron came back in game 2 and had a monster night, as expected, but it wasn't enough. Kevin Love had a good night and Kyle Korver did alright, but the Cavs got a bunch of nothing out of everyone else.
  19. I'd kind of rather play a Ravenloft adventure than a Ravenloft RPG. A psychological horror point n click in the vein of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream would work really well in that setting.
  20. That was quite the beatdown the Celtics put on the Cavs, though I don't think they can count on LeBron having that poor a night again. I can see King James coming back with a 40 point night in game 2.
