  1. I finally got a cellphone. How can I get a ringtone that lets everyone hearing range know there's a geek in the area? I was thinking a Final Fantasy song, or a level up chime, or some sound effect from an old school PC game. Any suggestions on how I go about obtaining something like this?
  2. All the time? Why did you keep putting discs in? The consoles don't have different statistics regarding how well they last? If it's all luck, I might consider getting a 360 eventually. Or maybe I'll stop buying games all together. That's probably a better idea. I'm a real addict.
  3. I think you'd probably be dead if you lost 40lbs of piss. You probably just were not processing the sugar in your blood. Why did I type that? What's wrong with me?
  4. Peanut Butter? Are you pulling my leg? Anyway, the saga continues... Apparently the X-Box is the problem. I decided to give DDR a rest and play one of my older games while my legs recuperated. It wouldn't read the disk. So I try turning the X-Box on its side again, but I do this while I'm inserting the disk instead of turning it on while it was on its side. The X-Box shreds the disc, leaving deep scratches. Now I'll never get Christie into the Venus! Damn you Microsoft! But for some reason, Knights Of the Old Republic still works without any hanky panky. Bioware is magic. I hate X-Box. I hardly played it at all, it was the last console I bought, and it is the only one showing serious malfunctions. Unfortunately, I bought the X-Box DDR pad, so if I want to buy a PS2 game, I need to get a new one. Arghh!
  5. pffft! Planescape. Planescape killed my disk drive. Poop on Planescape! Don't see what was so special about Planescape. What alignment would the characters from Fallout 2 be?
  6. It usually works! Try it! I had a PS2 disc that wasn't functioning. But a little toothpaste fixed it right up. Plus my console has minty fresh breath now. (You probably want to water it down some. Not that I'm an engineer or anything)
  7. I bought the X-Box ultramix 3 or whatever it's called. The disc wouldn't run. I tried it again. Still no good. I tried polishing the disc with toothpaste. No good. I tested my X-box with my KOTOR disc. still good. Hmm... Okay, so I spit on my disc, just like the old days with my Gameboy. Didn't work. I hit my X-box. Still didn't work. Finally, I tried running my X-box while it was turned on its side. It worked. Strange.
  8. Really? Everybody hated the first Suikoden? That's my favorite, after 2. The war system, although simple and stupid, was cute. The good endings and bad endings were radically different. Pahn was a great character. I don't see how an original like Suikoden would be considered all around "bad." Best of all, no freakin' squirrels! Of course, other than tactics, my third favorite would be the despised "boat" Suikoden. Speaking of Tactics, did anyone read/see The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? by Edward Albee?
  9. Plus I'm pretty sure words like Narf and bloopity bloop are not in the Korean inventory of sounds.
  10. How is it that I liked Civ II, Colonization, MOO, and Alpha Centauri better than the new games? It has been such a long wait! Gal Civ wasn't really to my taste. Crusader Kings was okay, but very different. I could really go for a new X-Com type game. Or a Jagged Alliance. Not really on topic, but it just popped into my head.
  11. So what is the best Cirque show to see? - live or recorded.
  12. Why don't they have the theatrical version available on DVD? That was the version on tape. I liked the video-game. I think it was Westwood or Sierra that published it. The book was great too.
  13. No one liked Tai Chi Master? Fist Of Legend was the best, though. Recently saw: North By Northwest. Great movie ruined by film enthusiasts/AFI/critics/lame Family Guy episodes that almost totally ruined the movie for me. Circus - Charlie Chaplain film. Really liked it. Lady In The Water- meh. not so good. My Super Ex-girlfriend- hmmm... I liked it. I like Uma Thurman, though. Pirates 2 - meh. It was pretty good. The stunts reminded me of an alternate universe where Jackie Chan used CGI instead of stunts. Shaolin Soccer- One of my all-time favorites. I think I'm getting over it though. It was so much better on the big-screen for some reason.
  14. I don't trust doctors. But anyway, diabetes doesn't just affect the extremeties. It potentially screws up your organs too. I think the high blood sugar also harms the eyes. Lots of diabetics get amputations and can't see. This is such a depressing subject.
  15. What's the best Dance Dance Revolution game to buy? Doesn't matter what console.
  16. The game is usually cheap if you can still find it, so I would definitely say the expansion is worth it. Can't wait for G3 to come out. Sounds good. I don't like the sound of the auto-leveling monsters. I have never liked that in a game.
  17. What Stronghold? The old D&D game? That was fun. I might still have it unless I threw it out in my last attempt to purge myself of the addiction called video-games.
  18. Stronghold system in NWN2 sounds cool. I always like that kind of thing. I liked Suikoden, the siege in KOTOR II, the BG2 strongholds, even the recruitment and fighting of the siege in Hordes of the Underdark. I'm glad it made it into NWN2. Woo! Also, it potentially gives a place for you to leave followers. They could have events where they interact with each other when you leave them there for a while, or something like that. In any case, leaving followers in the middle of nowhere always bothered me. In Fallout 2 I used to always go to New Reno to switch people out, so that they'd have something to do while I was gone. I like the idea of hiring architects, etc. Stronghold building has gone neglected for a long time.
  19. I liked Cable Guy. Also, I really liked Vanilla Sky, but I don't think that was so popular. Another movie I thought was pretty good was Dumb & Dumberer. I mean, going into it you know Jim Carrey is not going to be in it AND it's the sequel to a really stupid movie. What did people expect? I thought the Jim Carrey impersonator was really good. There's a huge amount of movies that got a lot of praise that I despise. But that's another topic.
  20. Yeah. I think one of the theories is that true fluency can only be achieved before puberty or something. I'm not really sure what they mean by that, because I've seen lots of examples of adults learning foreign languages quite well.
  21. I agree about the Vietnamese language, even though I love the food. Somehow, I just find it annoying. I usuaully enjoy listening to foreign babble, but not Vietnamese. Chinese (all sorts), Japanese, Korean, French, German, Filipino all sounds fine to me. The only Vietnamese language I like is Chinese.
