I don't think the term "Social Justice Warrior" should be used for these people, because they don't really care abut social justice, and if they do they are a all a bunch of hypocrites. No, the term that should be used for them is bullies, because that's what they are. If people don't agree with them they form twitter mobs to harrass the person, they attempt character assassinations, and worst of all, death threats. How can a person that do things like that say with a straight face that they fight for "social justice"? They are no better than the "gamergaters", both sides are equaly disgusting. Yeah they are like terrorists. But they truly believe they fight for justice which makes it even worse. Kind of like relgion fanatics. Personally I call them A... holes

And you can't grasp the very simple idea that actively encouraging players to have sex with prostitutes in order to get resting boons might not be the brightest of social commentaries there is. Why? some People think ist fun and nice to have sex with prostitutes and if you believe it or not many prostitutes also enjoy their work. Stop sex shaming People and grow up.

The German Translation is sadly really bad. Sometimes you do not even know what they even wanted to say in these conversations.... I tried the first 2 hours to Play in German but it was just too much for me. ... But thats not something i really care about to be honest because english is really good and i have no Problems understanding. -

Look look! Whoever is offended by the material of Firedorn Lightbringer. Fix it yourself. There is already a mod out which removes this message. But this is not enough for these People. Again they are trying to push some Agenda nothing else. There is? Well, isn't this the perfect solution for everyone? Those offended by the joke can choose to censor their own playing experience. It was created by one of them. And yeah normally it should end here, but they want to push an Agenda and censor something they do not like. That is why an toggle Option is also not an Option for These People. They want it to be removed. -

Not for these people 1. Fat shaming 2. Sexist 3 Why is ugly? Are you shaming ugly people? 4. Why was it not a minority? Have you even included minorities in your game? -

There is no discussion. People organize with mob tactics to get something removed they do not like. This is exactly censorship. -

Because people who complain about these things dont think is a problem. Just like some people really believe that there is no racism against white people. -

No one can because it does not. It makes fun of the guy who did commit suicide and not on the other person. so it does not even matter if she was trans or not, -

Is not... quite true. None of those people have anything to do with FemFreq, and while I know GG has seen this, they are not the ones starting it and this is kinda outside their usual 'territory'. As far as I know the FemFreq team consists of three people, not sure if there's more: Anita Sarkeesian Jonathan McIntosh (writer and producer) Katherine Cross (secretary) Here are my sources https://i.imgur.com/3krmDzG.png https://pdf.yt/d/QnYk8zz4nV8hfVfv LOL Of course. This is really ridiculous... -

You are like a German politician who actually claimed that left radicalism is better than right radicalism after left extremists burned down dozens of cars in front of the EZB in Frankfurt. Yeah Sorry that i disagree. -

Three and a half. How many of you actually fear for your lives daily that an SJW will murder you because you are male? So these jokes are ok but not this harmless one because someone thinks it makes fun of a minority which it doesn't even do? -

Darji replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'm going to explain this once, which you will no doubt ignore. How high is the possiblity of there being an actual killing spree against men by "SJWs"? Ok, how many times has the panic defense actually been used by murder defendants? Also, are you going to post here again or did you make an account just for that? how high is the possibility you do a rape joke and then actually rape a person? How many times has a rape joke lead to rape? You are seeing how stupid these arguments are? No one gets even harmed by a joke if you don't like it don't endorse it. It is ok to not like things but its not ok to again force your own morals on others. -

Yes, the fact that someone that actively promotes genocide and someone that was a former neo-nazi got the ear of Obsidian so easily is pretty disturbing, the minimum background check should reveal this, the fact that veteran game developers with 20-30 years of experience in the industry bow down to the wishes of these people are clearly crazy (and yes promoting genocide is crazy) is pretty telling, these demands should have been dismissed immediately after people saw where they coming from. I'm looking forward to when this thread progresses to its natural conclusion and consists entirely of speculation over Zoe Quinn's sex life. This makes your whole position really laughable. I hope you know this. It really doesn't. Should the line be pulled? This is the question. Instead we think the main issue is running background checks on the people who first noticed it. OFC we should. Because it shows if this person should even be seriously or not. As I said before. Twitter and co is full of extremists no matter for or against whatsoever. You need context to accusations. And just like companies judge people on their twitter accounts. Yes there are tons of people who got fired because of their Twitter or Facebook page. We should do the same here. -

How does this not fit into the game? The person who died was a stupid person which was made fun of. How does this not fit into a world full of rape, murder, homophobia etc? It fits perfectly in this cruel and harsh world the game is set in. Again. It also could have been a song of a jester or bard playing in a tavern. -

The difference is that that was BEFORE the game was out. Now the game IS out. People bought the game. And people bought the game expecting all the content offered. Most of the people wouldn't even read the backer memorials, so it's not as if a vital part of the game will be removed. This should not matter at all. It is not about the Joke anymore it is about is it ok to remove something some small minority which is putting social pressure on the artist/developer wants to be removed. And I will always say NO. No matter what. -

Darji replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Obsidian was already "censoring" other backer memorials because they didn't fit the world they created. They are now free to decide that this one doesn't even though it slipped through the cracks, and remove it after the game's release. They can ask the backer to write a new one or refund him. And I wonder if you'll call *me* an outsider too, even though I've been here from the start? Yes they already censored. Which is self censoring which is totally fine since they felt it was not fitting and they had no pressure at all back then.BUT and here is the big but, This was already approved and therefore it should stay in no matter what. -

Yes Then I want my money back and they can delete my game from steam or disable my key. I will never tolerate censorship I never did or will. Since I live in Germany Censorship is a very serious topic for me since I often have to suffer from it in terms of video games. Developers doing what they want is censorship? Like I said, censorship just means doings thing things you don't want. Doing what you do want? That's listening to your customers! No they are already putting social pressure on the developers ad that is the best way to censor in this day and age. And these people know exactly how it works. Organize a mob on social networks and done. -

Second solution is better but flawed. The first isn't smart, business wise. The product's out. It "belongs" to more than just the backers now. (Although, really it belongs to no one but Obsidian.) How is the second solution flawed? Turn it off by default and have an uncensored option in there. Done. If you are still offended by it you clearly just pushing some agenda no one sane should listen to. -
