Nope. Saying that *blank* (fill in any noun you like) is unnatural does not automatically have negative connotations as to be natural is not automatically good, and to be unnatural is not automatically bad. The car example was fine as it demonstrated that unnatural doesn't equal bad. I don't think I've ever seen a reference to people as unnatural that was explicitly non-judgemental and the converse is usually true. I briefly considered asking for clarification, but the prior for Striker genuinely not being aware of the connotations is just so incredibly low. Could you give an example of someone who isn't a bigot and who refers to people as unnatural? a lot of people on the social justice side do this with fetishes they do not tolerate. Like pedophilia. Something you can not do anything about it as well. Its your sexual orientation and it should not be a crime unless people get hurt by it. Thats the biggest example

People who say Vidya insead of video should be banned from the internet. Whats next Animu? ... Seriously just saw this neogaf thread I thought its all over and decided the offended people were crazy "idiots". Why not move on and let them live in their ****ty world? Fire was ok with it so we should be ok for it too. If he would have been against it I would fight in the frontline but this?

I do not believe that. Firedorn already said that they left him the choice of a change. If they said keep it in I am sure they would have left it in. -
Actually, there was a choice. They asked me if I wanted to change in light of what happened. I chose to change it so that they can concentrate on the game instead of this PR nightmare. They weren't going to change it, they asked ME if I wanted to. I can find another platform to write my controversial crap, and I will. They, on the other hand, did the right thing and allowed me to decide the fate of the epitaph. I chose to turn into something that made fun of the bitch-bastards that were complaining. They went above and beyond what I would have expected them to do. Okay, so it was a choice. Can you confirm these talks with screenshots or something? Blank out sensitive info. I find it kind of weird that Obsidian would be 100% okay with this staying but would avoid engaging at all with their backers about it in the first place. I would like to ask you this, though: was offering this as a toggle a choice at any point? So that non-backers who didn't buy the game could remove whatever offended them and others could keep the game as it is? Also, is there a reason why Obsidian has not been upfront about this? You will have to take my word for it. I have no problems saying what's on my mind, as can be attested to, so I have no reason to BS. It was collaborative. There were emails back and forth and I don't have the inclination to start taking screenies and editing images. Second, to clarify, they asked me if I wanted to change it in light of what was happening. I didn't even ask "what if I say no?". I immediately volunteered to do it. Third, developing a software mechanism to allow users to turn them off and on is a lot tougher/longer than changing some data files. I am a software developer, so I can imagine what's involved. And finally, I'm just assuming here, but Obsidian didn't want to say anything final until it was all done. Most companies don't want to declare anything as final until it's done. No need for it but honestly It would have been gone much better if they also released a statement with their kickstarter message. Now there was outrage for nothing. Glad you cleared it up and restored my Faith in Obsidian as well.

Why aren't you happy? The backer didn't get screwed. Isn't that what you wanted? I am not happy that he changed it but since he was not really under pressure i am totally fine with it. Also I am glad to hear Obsidian left him with the choice. So yeah I fine with this decision. -

I am not really happy regarding you changing it but if this was your free will its acceptable and the fact that Obsidian wanted you to decide is totally ok. Thank you for this statement.

The sentiment to #killallmen is borne out of the realization that almost all men are actively oppressing women and transpeople for their own personal gain. Telling people that they are crazy to use that tag is like telling rape victims that they are crazy to try and fight back against their rapists. Ok this goes now into a territory I will not even talk about here. But almost all men? Really Really? I am done with this. Its even almost 5 in the morning I need more sleep so I can oppress more women tomorrow. Since I am a man..... So good night and let us oppress some more women tomorrow since we are men and almost all do it.... -

Prove that they caved in. Put up or shut up. It's really not such a difficult concept. You will never ba able to prove this- This is ridiculous. However... Obsidian makes games and even controlled backer content and helped them with writing as well. Games gets released Some crazy person saw some messages that did upset her even though the meaning is not even clear She calls Obsidian out, she calls for a boycott. a Week or so later Obsidian removed the content with some PR messages behind it. Yeah the chances that they carved in is pretty high for me. re the bolded: Because ableism is totally cool. You should try some introspection. You have constructed a narrative where the person who complained is crazy and Obs are cowards. The much more likely scenario is that a trans person thought it was in bad taste and advocated for the content to be removed. Obs agreed and did so. I am sorry but people who use the #....allmen are crazy for me. I can not do anything about it. I am sorry for that. And no it does not even matter if she is frustrated or not.It is stupid just like #... all feminists would be stupid and crazy no matter what. -

You may realize this one day. God, I hope so. Again why? Wen even trans people think it was not transophobic at all. I also can misunderstand bamby and the get offended by it. Also I agree. Dont caller her He or it. Call er "cry baby" for example this is gender neutral and everyone is fine. -

Yeah and this has not even to do anything with this at all. Some person misunderstand some joke and was offended. I can also be misunderstand something and be offended. Does this gives you the right to force censorship? No it does not. Most people interpreted it as making fun of the guy who died nothing else. -

I dont know if you noticed it but they are using it to insult this person because they are upset. Just like she wants to kill all men because she is frustrated and upset. You think she's a terrible person, and yet it's ok that their actions are morally equivalent. They are as ok as her saying. I normally need 3 days to kill men. and #lkill all men. As someone said. Don't know if it was you. It is a sign of anger and frustration. And people who insult here reacting the same way she does. So yeah both are equaly bad. -

Agreed. People made their case on both sides of the issue. Obsidian listened and made up its own mind about how best to respond. Respect their decision and move on. The prolonged and irrational anti-"SJW" tantrum is effing infantile. Made up their own minds my ass they wouldn't done anything if it weren't for some twitter **** screaming at them. So what? They were 100% free to tell that person to go pound sand OR to think about it and decide they agree. Nobody forced anyone to do anything. People expressed their opinions, good or bad, maturely or childishly, and Obsidian made up its mind on how to react. Period. You just don't like it because you weren't on the "winning" side this time. It's hard being on the wrong side of history. Happens to us all and sucks when it does. Yeah and now people expressing their opinions about Obsidian carving in. I know its an endless circle and Developer will never win. -

And I feel really sad that I have to applaud people who raised almost 1 million $ because they did not want to serve gay couples and then got threaten to death and even had to close their shop because SJW threaten to burn the place down.... And since I am pro gay marriage etc I think that is really really sad.... -

There's no reason to flip out that much, because this kind of action can be expected from ANY company. It's simple: the CEO and marketing department get paid to ensure that as many costumers see the product as possible and that the game or company does not get negative press. Censoring such snippets is considered the safe option because if left unchecked, you run the risk of people claiming you're homophobes or transphobic or whatever. The moment this doesn't happen is gonna be the moment a CEO or marketing department starts getting scrutiny, thus the cycle continues. And that is the problem. A small minority which is most likely not even your real audience cried about something most of us found ridiculous. They carved in and now they have to live with their actions. You actually should carve to your paying audience and not to some extremists. -

Prove that Obs "caved in" and not merely agreed. You think context doesn't matter because you are ignorant of the context. Prove that is not the case. And I am sorry but I do not differentiate between your Color. If you are discriminating because of someones color you are a racist to me. Like these people who threaten the teenager who was so proud of her dreadlocks and posted a picture on Facebook., Her only error she was white. And White people are not allowed to wear dreadlocks.... And yeah if you believe this bull**** you are also a racist. -

You're either dishonest or ignorant. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/censorship a : the institution, system, or practice of censoring ... : a person who examines books, movies, letters, etc., and removes things that are considered to be offensive, immoral, harmful to society, etc. A person. Not a government, not a law, a PERSON. Did a person examine this game? Yes. Did they apply pressure, directly, to the developer of said game to remove something they felt was offensive, immoral, or harmful to society? Yes. This person is a censor. They performed censorship by pressuring the developer to remove it. About to go offensive (trigger warning); if I "pressure" someone into having sex, I'm not a rapist or immoral, right? After all, they could have said no, they could have resisted, so it's alright, right? So you can't tell the difference between advocacy and rape. Gotcha. As someone who lives in a country where censorship is explicitly prohibited by the constitution I just have to point out that a "censor" is historically an official. Censor: "an official who examines books, plays, news reports, motion pictures, radio and television programs, letters, cablegrams, etc., for the purpose of suppressing parts deemed objectionable on moral, political, military, or other grounds." http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/censor?s=t You can expand the concept, sure, but you have to do it very carefully if you want to claim that censorship is a bad thing in any context. oh yeah now we are going the not every censorship is bad... YES EVERY FORM OF CENSORSHIPOT IS BAD.... Its like saying racism against white people is not as bad as racism against black people.... Seriously.. There is no different. There is no good or bad discrimination. there are no differences at all.... You equate advocacy with censorship and then insist that censorship is always bad... Do you comprehend how completely idiotic that is? I'm not going to touch on the racism thing, since you seem incapable of understanding context. I never said she should have said nothing, I do not even blame her for using the twitter censorship model that people have perfected. If I were I would boycott her products. I blame Obsidian for carving in to such a nutjob. So no i never censored her. I never went on twitter and attacked her And yeah context does not matter. Racsim is Racsim. There are no differences at all. -

This is exactly why I don't identify myself as a gamer. That's pathetic. You have a responsibility as a developer And if you got your game through KICKSTARTER (i.e. other people's money) they you have even MORE responsibility to NOT LISTEN to some random whiner who didn't even back the game Makes no difference. The only difference between kickstarter and buying in a shop is you gave the money in advance. Who's money exactly do you think gets things made? Obviously not the consumer.... Kickstarter means you don't have to listen to that WHINING from that WHINER who WHINES about everything! Except for my whining. My whining is important and should be addressed immediately or I'm gonna start making empty threats about never buying a game from you again! OH like the person exactly did which thought this joke was transophobic and also did threat Obsidian with boycott.? Damm I thought you were on her side... -

But this line of conversation is a little beyond the scope of a thread about a bad poem which got changed to a slightly better poem. No just no... You do not bring people down you lift people up...
